Data valid up to 24 months then just top up and pay as you go.
Not being connected to the internet sucks. So give your tablet or laptop legs and get online wherever you are with a 3 Trio Data SIM. Wherever your feet want to go. It's the internet with legs. Just pop this super simple 3 SIM straight into your unlocked 3G or 4G device and that's it. You can connect your tablet to the internet whether you're at home, at the office or out and about. Pretty much anywhere you like. 3's Pay As You Go Trio SIM has all SIM types on one card, so whether you need a standard, micro or nano SIM, you can just pop out the one you need. Data valid up to 24 months then just top up and pay as you go.
Use your data abroad at no extra cost.
With this you can use it abroad at no extra cost in 42 feel at home destinations while on holiday, including USA, Australia, Germany, Portugal, Greece and many more. That’s more destinations than any other UK mobile network. Pay As You Go customers need an add-on to get an allowance to use data at no extra cost in 42 destinations worldwide. For holiday use only. Yes it will work fine.
I have used the Three 12gb 12 month sim in my dual sim phone without any problems.
Be aware though not all dual sim phones are 3g/4g enabled on both sim slots at the same time so if you are using two '3' sim cards one slot may revert to 2g and will not work.

What happens at the end of the 2-years? Does the SIM die or move over to a usually PAYG contract?

I got the 12gb version to use abroad in unlocked EE Osprey 2 device, Used it in Tenerife and Kos and flawless. Not lightening fast but was never going to be but missus loved it as could whatsapp and update FB all time.
For the £22 it cost at time more than worth it. Activated it in July, used 5GB in Kos then the rest in Tenerife in Sept. It also worked in my Cube Talk 9X tablet with SIM slot.

Still showing as "temporarily out of stock" which suggests to me they will be getting some more at some point, think I might chance at least one as a separate purchase as a family gift.

good find. pre ordered. already been using the similar 12Gb 12 month ones (last was £22) in occasional use 3g tablet and unlocked mifis for car WiFi. EE 4g Osprey mifi can be unlocked for 99p and lots of Huawei dongle and mifis can be unlocked for free with a bit of techie googling. Used the Three feel at home without issue to give kids pokemon go on their non roaming old contract phones in Spain via mifi wifi

Are we sure it can be used abroad? This is a PAYG sim and it clearly says "Pay As You Go customers need an add-on to get an allowance to use data at no extra cost in 42 destinations worldwide."
Most MiFis go into standby after a while of no data transfer. Does this one too? A right pain to have to press a button on the MiFi to reactivate it. What I need is one that behaves exactly like a home router - always on so long as powered up.

Could be a very handy sim card to have alongside the 500MB BT sim card (that comes with unlimited calls and texts until new deals arrive in just over 4 hours) in a dual sim phone, for those times you need internet access but are not near a free BT hotspot.
I've got a monthly sim from three (£18 unlimited data 200 mins unlimited texts and 30gb tethering ) and the way I see what data allowance I have left is on there app

What happens if you put one of the sims in an I phone. Will it let you use data ( no calls and texts). Just wondering if I could use it in my I phone when I went abroad to connect to the internet.

I have a dual-SIM phone (an unlocked 4G Mototola Moto G 4th generation) but so far I've only used it with a single SIM. Is there any reason why I could not buy this from Amazon and use it for 4G data alongside my existing Giffgaff SIM for calls and texts?
