Cant imagine there will be much love in here
personally wont be buying anything this week until (if) the 'fraud' situation clears up. My account is not locked though and have about 3 quid sitting there.
Thanks for your effort though kikai.

Most aren't using it, but could be interesting for those needing a final thing to top up their limit so they can claim their money. You're not using the app, that's cool...no need to keep posting on here to all others who might or who want to top up their cashback so they can withdraw. reeelax....it won't be long before it all falls apart so just enjoy time as it stands.

It's not an app issue. They are going bankrupt and conning people out of their 'stored' but not withdrawn cashback

Kikai, I dont think you should be posting their offers any more as they have probably gone Bankrupt. Its a matter of time now. Pull your cash out. My faith in them has dropped since they locked my account. On their Face book page a reporter is writing a story about this.

I only have 30p left now to get the £4 limit, going to do that today and withdraw asap

Edit - Done and withdrawn the £4, time to call a Post Mortem on Shopitize. Thank You KiKai for your efforts in informing others of getting staple foods and extras for cheaper with Shopitize, later stages it didn't get the big heat your effort deserves but that's likely due to the bad taste Shopitize left on people after the horrendous update earlier this year. It led to the downfall of this once great app and cashback leader, and now alternatives might take up that mantle like (the banned) s h o p m i u m and CheckoutSmart.

Thanks KiKai. Still no reply to my email about the milk.
For the moment I'll be using the general cashback rule that I don't buy anything I wouldn't without the cashback, as it's not guaranteed (with any of them). e.g. if I was buying broccoli anyway, I'd still scan the barcode and photo receipt for shopitize, but as there are always complaints from the other half when we have broccoli, no purchase for me!
Thanks for your efforts in pulling together the list.

Moral of story is do not store money in these unprotected companies. Reminds me of that Xmas savers company that went bust just before xmas few years ago. Saw on the thread in misc someone had £98 saved and is locked out. If needs be set up a 2nd bank account and have cashback paid into that and don't touch that until Xmas and can see it the amount growing.

Great advice, just withdrawn £136 I had in Top cashback account, earned mainly through insurance cashback. Was saving it towards next years insurance payments, but after concerns about shopitize which I withdrew from last week, I've withdrawn my payouts from all these type of accounts.

Heat added. Thanks KiKai! I had £19 in there, just withdrawn all and received the request confirmation email. Hopefully will get the money soon. Suspended accounts are starting to be reactivated with the rule of ONE account per device.
NCIS
2 Nov 16 #35
I suspect it is conjecture, but based on several official sources on the internet.

Their offers have reduced a lot, as well as the cash back paid per item, their financial records show massive loses, their general manager left October 2016, suspending lots of accounts that haven't breeched their own T&Cs but would allow them to stop cash being withdrawn (indicates probable cash flow problem). Ignoring emails and social media complaints, their social media profiles not as activate.

Thanks Kikia for your lists as usual on a Tuesday night. Looks like you maybe getting some early nights soon.

Well I've cashed in last weekend. Looked at what was on offer and what I normally buy. I now only go for about 1 out of the 10 on offer each week so it could take upto 20 weeks to make the magic number of £4.

Was a good app at first, then slowly the shine got chipped away.

Will stick now with Checkoutsmart and Quicksnap. A
least they do freebies I want now and then. I have a free, in depth herb and spice collection thanks to them.

I might go via Topcash but my experiences in the past before Shopitize were involved was like pulling teeth - painful. So I don't know.

First rule of any cashback site. It ain't your money until its in your Bank or PayPal account. No way would l have £700 sitting in a cashback site, of any kind.

Look around Google for how that panned out for the old Rpoints accounts, before it was taken over. Many lost money accrued in their accounts.

Thanks Kikia. But unless they do a major review of their problems and future direction, I doubt it.

I'm doubtful of that and rightly so given the way they've handled this fiasco and their incredulous accusations of fraud, but I'm sure they'll be grateful for your handling of their PR

People can be easily bought with exceptional offers (but they are pretty much non-existent), but they won't forget or recommend. You'll have your work cut out getting people back on board. As you know, It's the customers which keep Shopitize in business and without them they have no business.
hass123
2 Nov 16 #71
They have a "referral" system where each successful referral earns £3 via a code (i.e someone signs up to the app, uses a referral code to get an offer for a free bar of chocolate, buys the bar of chocolate that is part of the recent promo and gets the cashback, meaning the referral was successful and the person whose code it was gets £3). I recently signed up a few days ago and posted my referral code on their iOS app reviews section and already got £6 in referral credits (which is why I have no need to post it on HUKD who banned the app as the referral system is already effective on iOS).
KiKai
2 Nov 16 #72
I agree with you and Shopitize have an upward battle on their hands in winning back the confidence of its members. Hopefully the offers improve and they slowly go back to being the great app everyone loved...

Used to work in the cinema trade.

I learnt about how peoples review of films to people they knew influenced or treatment they got at the cinema effected them.

Found out Bad news always travels faster and further than good news.

Unfortunately people don't forget. Many other brands have gone to the great beyond not considering that.

Yeah mine as been re-activated again just a blanket email sent to tell me its open , However due to their lack of customer care I will not use the app now on principle , My thoughts on shopitize is that I think they won't be around in a years time , thus still suggest people whom have credit in their accounts to withdraw asap , and everytime it reaches £4 thereafter , try other app's like Greenjinn , shop-mium , and checkoutsmart as the offers on shopitize seem to have gone downhill less offers and decreased cashback amounts , DO NOT use any apps as a saving account , withdraw when you reach the minimum requirement :-) x

I've bailed! Withdrawal request sent and acknowledged so hopefully I'll get the funds I accumulated in my bank account. Offers in recent weeks have been very poor - and one offer this week isn't available in my local Tesco or Sainsbury's (Ainsley Harriott Moroccan Medley Cous Cous / Spice Sensation Cous Cous) as the offer on Shopitize is for 100g packets and the standard size in these stores for this product is 125g.

Overall, for me, the value of offers each week on products I'd definitely buy is likely to be more than 50p - on a good week - so the time and effort required to claim this negates the small cashback saving - especially if there's a need to resnap.

It was good while it lasted

Have £3.85 sitting there - bought a can of Campbells soup today to get my tally above £4, and the app refuses to acknowledge the purchase - scanned barcode and receipt OK BUT no acknowledgment of the purchase not even the usual "under review" message.

Ohh, I'll be gutted if it's the end of Shopitize , I came to the party quite late, but I've absolutely loved it. Loved the freebies on a Thursday, and other stuff that worked out 10-15p. To be fair, it wasn't that long ago I got 6 free old moat ciders off the app. Also, if they're on their way out- why just recently pair up with topcashback? Surely that doesn't make sense?

I have luckily managed to withdraw my balance and is due to be credited tomorrow in my bank account, but worried about my wife's as her bank account does not show anything due to be credited. Both of us requested withdrawal within minutes of each other, though it is my wife's first withdrawal so not sure if that is actually causing delay. For benefit of doubt, I am thinking of holding off for another day as both of our accounts were not frozen and we might be stepping the gun.

No didnt resolve the issue, said it wasnt anything to do with that department and would pass my email onto customer services, I rang again just now and spoke to a Che, same again would pass onto customer services. We have quite a large sum between our family and all are blocked. My advice would be keep on trying to withdraw your money that is rightfully owed to you.

This has been a great app for me and kikai's Posts have been very helpful in locating the bargains, I've always felt that if you are selective you can benefit from these sites. She had £500+ in her account from her transactions from 2+ years. She is in touch with some solicitor friend to understand if she could report a fraud case against Shopitize if the withdrawal does not go through. If the company falls into administration, then she will become a creditor with no hope of getting that money, but if the company is operating she has a right to hear back from Shopitize. None of our accounts have been blocked - so there is hope unless Shopitize is intentionally avoiding paying the money.

I've got my account opened back up ! But that email we got the Liable one was enough for me to think this company is in desperation , someone within the company did not think legally before issuing that blanket email ! Like I said I got mine unlocked but even so they lost my confidence and after looking into their company financies I doubt they will be going by the next companies house return in September 2017 ! As I've said before anyone with any credit , withdraw ASAP as they only have £95 thou in the bank at the end of September , but in loses and gains they are in a loss in general so that in the bank could be frozen if the auditors decide it's not a going concern ! I do not trust this company anymore ! Use the others checkoutsmart , shop mium , greenjinn , and clicksnapp ! Shopitize is dying x

I'm really disgusted initially being blocked and the email I got ! Hense I now DO NOT TRUST em and still would like a proper apology for em shutting it down even though opening it back up ! Ask your solicitors about the original wording sent out to many from Sara ! The wording was liable , you are now open up to many taking liable against you , and looking into cases from 2004 you really worded it very wrong , people could claim from you just by that initial email ! My one question ! Are you close to going into liquidation ??? Really get someone to give really good customer services back to all on ya page ? If you don't reply or sort these terminal problems you have then you and I know ya sooooo very close to calling in tdwaterhouse or such ! Give yourself a head wobble ! Normally startups make losses in their intial years - remember it has only been 4 years since Shopitize started and it takes some time to be profitable. As long as their business model is solid and they can get new funding from investors there is nothing to worry about zero balances/losses on their Company return. My feeling is that they are having issues with Working Capital and without additional funding they are trying to cut down on their costs. This was evident from the reduction in the number of offers from last month but at that time we felt they are simply restructuring hence did not bother to get the balance withdrawn, a big mistake. We will have to give them 7 working days to credit the withdrawal as per their terms and conditions so have till Wed for them to respond as the withdrawal request was sent late last Monday.

hi, I agree with you for the most part and I appreciate the position you are in. I have looked at their accounts at companies house, to me it doesn't look good and it will need a qualified accountant to make any sense of it. I was in business for 25 years, always solvent and always thriving but 1 thing I do know, when any business owes more than its total assets, it will fail unless it can secure a large cash injection. varunadas
16 Nov 16 #162
The contact number they have made public is only to entertain press related calls. They are a small shop so are all managers of their area. Sending an email is not helping as they are simply ignoring it. I had some receipts which were manually processed and they had asked for the paypal address to credit a while back. I replied to that and still no response whereas in the past they used to in 2-3 working days. Either they have almost shut the shop and waiting for to make the final shutdown news or they are simply shying away hoping that we will stop pestering them.
Other than the legal route there seems to be no way to get money from these fraudsters.

There are still a lot of unknowns as to the benchmark that Shopitize have used to block people from their accounts. People want transparency here on how they are determining suspect accounts. To suspect and incite that people have committed fraud with no black and white facts, and to shut their accounts down is simply inappropriate. I believe from the latest information on their Facebook page, from people who have had feedback, that they have changed their rules to one account per device. If it is a simple case of Shopitize wanting one account per device, then why on earth couldn't they just send a notification or email to their users saying so, rather than treating them like criminals? In our household there are two of us, we have one account each, every claim for cashback we have made has been within their Ts & Cs and have been blocked. We have each emailed three times now (last one within the last 24 hours) and received nothing but the 'blanket' email suspecting fraud. I even run a money saving page which has helped promote their app and weekly offers since August 2014 (and gained them a lot of customers) purely on a goodwill basis and on the basis that I only share what I believe to be good deals, have liaised with them to assure everything I shared was above board and within their Ts & Cs...No communication from them now. A horrible situation to be in for the other honest users of their app, but when you've been supporting their app as well, spending a couple of hours every Wednesday morning promoting them on a goodwill basis, it particularly hurts to be treated this way. Even if they were to reinstate my account or my housemate's account after all of this messing around, unless a resolution, public apology and perhaps a goodwill gesture was issued to all affected, and some sort of assurance was issued that such a shambles was not going to happen again, I would still not feel inclined to use their services or support them via my page.

That is what we are all confused as to what they want to do with it. Clearly they have not paid to my wife's bank account, ignored every email sent. On the contrary, a withdrawal request from my account on same day was paid out in 3 days but now they are ignoring my emails as well and my account has been completely wiped out - lost all transactions after withdrawal and also those which some action was to be taken - there were some transactions they were manually going to credit to my paypal account has also not been done. Yes they are in trouble but are not transparent about it - they are paying out small amounts to keep those customers and ignoring ones with large balances; it was stupid for my wife to never make a withdrawal and trusting these scamsters.

GB energy have just gone bust, leaving 160.000 customers with an uncertain future over the Christmas period. They didn’t give any warning, just announced they were going out of business. That’s how it is with these firms, here today and gone tomorrow. The signs must have been there but they just kept quiet about it.
I think in time we will find that shopitize will go the same way. That email they sent out will go down in history as their economic suicide. I’ve noticed that the top brands are shying away from them now. Only four items on this week worth a staggering total of £1.05. I think three of them are Unilever products.
Shopitize must have received thousands of emails these past weeks and just ignored them all. That’s no way to run any business.
It certainly looks like two of the directors have gone. Sara Chaves has removed the line ”works for shopitize” from her Facebook page.
Top Cash Back are not best pleased with all the complaints they are getting.
I’ve been looking at the list of Shopitize shareholders at Companies House. They are from all over the world, quite a few in Australia. But the sad thing is, some are charities. I wonder what they think of all this.
I for one have got my bottle of whiskey ready to drink a toast to their demise.

Some good news. I came to this a bit late when I found last week that all my credit had vanished and I was worried it had all gone. I messaged them and they replied 2 days later implying there was a glitch in a server update. My credit reappeared at about the same time so I requested payment on Friday. The money (£42) arrived in my bank account today but I've claimed on my Checkoutsmart account as well, as this has made me wary. I don't have multiple accounts and find it strange why anyone would anyway. By any chance did Shopitize foolishly not record and match the transaction details they received so folk were making multiple claims on the same purchase?

thats not the problem here, we are a family of 6, 4 have an account, thats 1 account each, use two devices, not same receipts, all have receipts for items purchased yet we have all been blocked and the money withheld so where is the fraud in that? they never answer to our queries and they have not once produced any detailed evidence, thats because they have none!! Seems like a big scam to me
raybarclay
29 Nov 16 #200
Yeah. I'm just trying to get my head round it. Definitely doesn't seem at all fair if the receipts are different and they've changed the rules retrospectively. I would probably be in the same boat if my elderly non-tech parents lived nearby, though maybe we would have pooled to get past the £20 barrier and cashed in more frequently and divvied up instead. All the same I'm still confused as to why I got paid a couple of weeks after this all blew up but others haven't. If they really have run out of funds then it doesn't make sense for them to pay anyone at all. Hopefully, it means that there's still a chance that you guys will get what you are owed, though like yourself I wouldn't put much faith in that, but I wish you all the best nonetheless.

Miss the cashback on milk though and additionally with increase in milk increases it appears more dearer :stuck_out_tongue:

Down to 2 (TWO!) offers and 1 of those lasts for 6 weeks so I imagine that'll probably be the last offer standing on shopitize.

That chocolate from last week is repeated for this week... but it's not in my store. And the ice cream, which sounded nice... is rubbish as it's like £4 or something, and only in my Waitrose... and the Shopitize only allows Tesco. Pffttt..

Even though I thought of not using Shopitize anymore after the withdrawal fiasco, the lure of free chocolate took me to Tesco. Unfortunately due to Shopitize trick of taking shoppers into store for a non-stocked product, it was almost a waste of time except ended up buying £50 of clothes in sale. This chocolate does not seem to be stocked anywhere in whole of east London though it is listed on Tesco website for online shopping.

Punishment for using them then!! Waste of time and space Shopitize, time they were taken off the cashback sites now. Poor customer servies and even the offers albeit 2 are just rubbish and they are capped too. Same two offers are also on Topcashback too and like Toonah you say they dont stock it tut tut.

Suprised you are even considering supporting Shgopitize after the way they treated you At least you got your money I would never trust them again ever!!

8 Dec 16 #214
I’m absolutely amazed that you people are still using this app, and all for a bit of cheap cr$$py chocolate. They’ve got you chasing items that are unobtainable. Some people never learn.
Big Save!!

9 Dec 16 #217
I wasn't really supporting them. I was simply looking for free chocolate as these are listed on Tesco website for £2.50 and there was £2.50 cashback. The whole idea was if the cashback did not come through items will be returned resulting me loosing nothing. Also the Tesco trip was still useful as I did end buy up something useful other than chocolate.

9 Dec 16 #218
Strange I was in the Gallion's Reach superstore which is the biggest in whole of London area. I asked the staff and the duty manager, both said that they have not seen the item stocked in that store.
juggler1
9 Dec 16 1 #219
Not disputing what they're saying, but when optiwell first came out, Tesco staff all told me it was a fresh item that the store didn't stock- then I found it myself with the long life milks, lol. Can't be helped sometimes, they stock 1000s of lines. If you look on world foods rather than confectionary, you might find them
crimsongirl
9 Dec 16 #220
Why you even looking anyway? You most likely wont get your money back from em cos they aint even there!!
Toonah
10 Dec 16 4 #221
Most aren't using it, but could be interesting for those needing a final thing to top up their limit so they can claim their money. You're not using the app, that's cool...no need to keep posting on here to all others who might or who want to top up their cashback so they can withdraw. reeelax....it won't be long before it all falls apart so just enjoy time as it stands.
crimsongirl
10 Dec 16 #222
Not using the app because we are blocked, yes we worked hard to earn those extra pounds!! but they stole it all and blocked our accounts so NO! wont relax, it's a warning to all those other gullible people out there to beware it could happen to them.

I was wondering why I haven't seen shopitize deal showing up in awhile here so I looked this up last week to see the crazy stuff that's been going on. I quickly went to withdrawn my money because I still had £15.40 in it. So money came through but they kept £2 in my account & gave me £13.40. Any reason for this or they just trying their luck because it's stuck there now as you need at least £4 to withdrawn.
Toonah
11 Dec 16 #224
Shouldn't be any reason to do that, not heard them use that trick on anyone else. You could either accept it as "gone" or cross your fingers and toes you can make it £4 with new offers, like the chocolate on there now (£2.50 for that if you find it, Tesco only)
chris88
12 Dec 16 #225
I think I'll call it a day. They could just end up doing it again. It was a good app while it lasted.
Youngy
14 Dec 16 #226
That happened to me too, they sent it as a payment as if buying something, so Paypal took a fee. When I queried it with Shopitize they said they couldn't cover these fees anymore and to use BACS for free withdrawl. Yet had never had this policy previously.

Hello to all you disgruntled ex-shopitize members. Welcome to a brand new year. Let me take a few moments to remind us all why this page was set up.
Let’s Expose Shopitize is a page where people who have been conned by them can visit and leave comments and share their experiences.
This page has had thousands of visitors, and through it we have been able to assess the number of people who have had their accounts deactivated and their funds removed. Many thanks to all those people who have taken the trouble to leave comments. You have been a great help.

So what have we learned so far. First I will be blunt and say that the staff at shopitize are the most ignorant and arrogant bunch of idiots you will ever come across. Their customer services are non-existent, hiding behind all those pre-programmed robotic replies.

Calle Engelmarc resigned as general manager of Shopitize on September 1st. 2016. He started a new business called, ENGELWORKS LTD. Company number 10359451.

Irina Pavamova also resigned as a director on November 1st. 2016.
This is only my opinion of course , but I believe she may have done this for a reason. If Shopitize do go bankrupt while she is still a director, she will not be able to hold any other directorship for a number of years.
After leaving Shopitize, she became a director in Calle Engelmarc’s new company. Think about that one!!

Shopitize seem to be having trouble submitting their accounts this year.
Their Confirmation statement is way overdue according to Companies house.
(First statement date 19 November 2016. due by 3 December 2016.)

Shopitize are still refusing to reply to any emails or messages. They are now blocking anyone that wishes to leave comments on their Facebook page. I posted a comment on their page yesterday and it was promptly removed. All existing comments are being removed. All my own comments have been removed now and they won’t let me post anymore. I just can’t imagine why this is, I only ever tell the truth. Well they say the truth hurts.

Their volume of business has diminished substantially, due to the number of members who have uninstalled the Shopitize App.
The number of items they are posting has dwindled. They are putting stuff on for three/four weeks now, instead of weekly. And they are still trying to flog that confounded poxy ice cream that nobody wants/sells.
I have no doubt that the staff have been instructed by their superiors to ignore us all and we’ll just go away. I for one am here for the duration.
I think we can safely say they are on the way out.

Looks like the party is over. I tried withdrawing £4.70 from my account and it says minimum transfer to bank account is £4.
My wife is also having the same issue withdrawing £7.
