Has a campaign, but you can play the campaign with others, so a co-op play through.

No. You can play the entire campaign in single-player, or co-op.
There's also the Dark Zone, which is PVP. It's possible to go solo in there, but groups might pick on you if they see you're alone.

It's a really good game, you can play it single player with the option for co-op matchmaking at the start of the missions. The Dark Zone will be difficult without friends as it's the PVP area which contains the best equipment. It's very similar to Borderlands in gameplay.

i didn't know there was a campaign? i have rainbow six seige which was initially fun on the solo campaign. multi player great when people talk but normally they don't

It is online only meaning you can't play it if you're not connected to ubi servers.
It's basically an FPS action RPG mmo loot grinder, pretty fun really, but if you're looking to play it offline you'll be disappointed, you can however do everything solo (while online)

will I have decent weapons without grinding, I just looked at the YouTube reviews that say the grinding makes this a deal breaker

No but is harder to do without co op still I done most on own as Ubisoft servers suck hot deal and v good game

I'm waiting for most PC titles to hit the £10 mark or below for me to bite. I can wait as I have a huge backlog of games on steam. Have had my eye on this and I'm glad its gotten cheaper. Heat added.

My partner and I bought this the other day. It's very Borderlands-esque in 3rd person with a simple cover/jump over mechanic. It's not amazing, and I don't see myself playing it long term and grinding out drops to get the perfect weapon stats combinations (I'd say I'm an aging casual gamer) - however for a short term blast I'm really having a lot of fun. I don't think I've even reached level 10 yet so it's still early days for me, not PVP'd (and I'm not really a PVP fan), but the campaign and side missions, occasional grouping with randoms for the 'instances', has been pretty enjoyable so far.
