*shakes fist* paid £25 for this in game a week or so back. Very good game though so no complaints... Skyrim online it is not but if you have a mild interest in the elder scrolls universe and a penchant for mmo's this is great!

Try closer to 70GB. Each piece of dlc gets added to the game via an update and purchasing them either through the in-game crown store or via a code merely unlocks them. Everyone has the same huge d/l regardless of whether they're gonna buy the dlc or not. I hate the updates for this game because on console they aren't incremental updates like the one you see with most other console games, they're rolled out as 1 huge patch.
It's also hit n miss with this game the time it takes to download. I have an 80mbps connection and it still took me over 12 hours to download the last update that was around 30GB on the PS4. I downloaded another game during the update and it was installed within 40mins. I suspect these devs use a cheap ass method.

I read this as TESCO Gold Edition. Shame, would've given it heat.

sounds a stupid question? but is this an online only game?

yes it is. but
that doesn't stop it being a fantatsic game and you can play 99% of the game without teaming up with anyone granted you need to be online but i can't see anyone having a current gen console and not being online

Many PvP players complain that it's more or less a single player game dressed up as an MMO. There is a helluva lot more single player content in this game than PvP or group content. Group content is more geared towards end game builds. You can play the game for months on end and still have lots of single player content. With the most recent update, the overworld bosses now require groups, especially if you're new to the game. I can solo some, but some are very difficult to solo now. Before the current update they were all fodder.
I had never played an MMO before this because I tend to suck when pitted against other players and only bought into this one because of the TES brand. It's been my most played game in the last 2 years by a country mile. It's also a lot different than the game that was reviewed at release.

The sad face was in relation to the placing of the dlc, not why they do it.

it must of matter a little with the sad face! but it will be a pain for those with slow downlod speeds as if i remember right its 30-40GB download now from the base game which is on the disc

I never disputed that.
Although, I'm confused why it would matter. Wouldn't they just be providing future updates to the content you have. I'm not sure it really matters wether that content came from a redemption code or off a disc.

its always is with these type of games as the DLC is in the patches all buying the dlc does is unlock it, it would be a waste of time and money to do a disc with all the dlc as the game is always getting patched. also it doe's not include the latest DLC so it does not include all DLC, but latest one doesn't seem to add much and here you getting hundreds of hours of gaming for under £20. heat added

Even though I saw the picture and the first line after the headline reads Content: The Elder Scrolls Online, I still thought it was Tesco Gold Edition...
