I'd agree with that.
Having purchased a non swann kit on ebay & struggling with connectivity, i have found swann cctv kits a doddle especially with their invaluable and helpful customer support.
They also have their own app for viewing remotely

The viewing are recorded quality is excellent. Night vision is also good. When my security light comes on at night the picture is so good it looks like daytime. I've had mine about 5 years or so now. I posted a deal years ago too. As others have said the customer service is great and lifetime I think. They helped me set mine up.

The resolution of these cameras is terrible. Swann is a very good brand, but you need at least the 720p (1080p preferably) to get a decent image. I have installed all three types

I was thinking of getting the new RING wifi video Doorbell (this kind of thing: link) but wasn't too sure.
Would this kind of thing be better for security?
Appreciate it has two cameras, so could cover two areas rather than one with the RING Doorbell, but never had either before so open to suggestions!

Tempted to buy this but just read a comment from Swann in the Q&A section....
One thing to note however is that the kit you are enquiring about is a 960H model and you would get significantly better quality recording by going for an HD kit.
I think I'll wait and look out for a HD version. Still a good price though OP. Heat.

900h should be pretty bad.. even less than 720p. I mean personally 720p is already not good enough.. bought a set and ended up returning... now looking for a set that is at least 1080p.. no point recording when u cant see things clearly..

We bought the below from ebay £99.99 plus 1t hard drive for for £40
the weather proof box we also bought below 'cut round hole for camera' to put the camera in and to hide the camera as we were fitting it under the guttering and hides the camera well so not noticeable, 'painted the inside of the box black so no reflection' easy to fit and setup, all cables label and were to fit in.
really clear pictures during the day and night , night picture is amazing couldn't believe how the picture was so clear for a night camera, 'tested it out side in the back garden where there is no light, complete darkness couldn't see anything with the naked eye, tried the camera and it just showed up the complete back garden and that was with no light pitch black' recording is on constant so don't have to worry it just over records when drive is full, it has a day and time stamp so you can check any time or day when replaying back footage.
hope this helps

Are you sure that is as good a deal? Or at least what you think it is?
Seems on reading the description that the recorder is 960H resolution (not sure how that differs from 900H - I'm no expert in these things, just want to buy one) and yet the cameras are (quote): "Two clear-resolution 650TVL cameras with powerful night vision up to 25m". Surely, 650TVL is much WORSE than the two cameras in this Screwfix deal? They are (quote): "2 x High Resolution 900TVL Cameras".
Happy to stand corrected if I've got that wrong.

Good price, but you need to run 2 cables to each camera (Power and Data). The better systems use PoE (Power over Ethernet) meaning single cable provides data and power connection to the camera.
Costco have the equivalent one here: Swann PoE NVR you also get full HD (1920x1080 pixels, equivalent to 1000TVL)
£224.89 (+5% for non-costco members)

Pazza315

sfndkks
9 Nov 16#68
Same here... the reason is: on the time of delivery to the store them item got damaged.... I told them no problem I can have the item as damaged and do a part refund, the answer was, the item is not safe to use and it's been already recalled and no stock available to replace it.
The guy said he actually works in the store and not the warehouse and that they've asked him to call and explain! He also said this is the first time something like this happens and that he is sure there is another reason behind it
Pazza315
9 Nov 16#69
Sounds fishy! There head office is confirming NO recall
Sharp7
9 Nov 16#70
All the guy said was he heard from head office that the item never got sent out due to issues with the item and that they had just abandoned the order. The way the guy explained it sounded like he got fobbed off with a lack of info just as much as he could tell me.
