I only just bought this last week as its one of the games I really wanted at launch but never bought due to mixed reviews/shallow content... I gotta say it's amazing fun, I've always loved the sf games and this is up there with sf alpha 3 for me.

Isn't every game like that now though?

Is £17.49 the same as £14.99?

Well yeah the story is that basically this crap was released unfinished and Capcom decided to release the Story Mode later. This game is way too geared towards the Pro gaming circuit and just doesn't have any real substance or charisma to entice the casuals and general SF fans (like myself) to play the game.

Free UK delivery.
Very good deal but not great because you have to download a ton of its content rather than play straight from the disc.

My bad - wasn't signed in. V is £17.49 and Ultra IV is £7.99.

Excellent price considering the additions they have made over the year. Support is continuing for it as well despite lower than expect initial sales.
To those that have wondered about the poor launch reception this was purely down to content at launch. It was pretty slim with only online mode, brief and easy story snippets and training to get on with. They have since added a proper story mode, bunch of characters and stages and whatnot. The gameplay itself is up there with some of the best street fighter games and always has been but now is the time if you want to dip in casually.
Also don't forget, all of the DLC characters can be had for free, you just need to earn the in game currency to get them. The first character is essentially free after completing the mini story and I believe the main story will also give you enough in game cash for another.

Still no arcade mode, but online play works well.

What's the online matchmaking like anyone? Quick/easy to find matches? Are matches ranked or random? Sounds fun if I wouldn't get my ass served back to me on a plate by Chun Li's gaming pro sister when I'm a filthy SFV casual

I'll take your word for it. SF Alpha 3 is one of the best fighting games i have played and i only played the GBA version so that means a lot.

Street Fighter IV Ultra at £7.99 is a much better buy than V.

Sf alpha3 and sf4 are miles better than this

It looks decent though. Haven't played Street Fighter properly since Street Fighter 2 and Alpha 2 on the SNES!

Agree 100% the GBA version was actually good

A teaser trailer for Gouki went up quite recently so he's on his way to SFV. Therefore there will be 23 characters available for the game once he's added (6 to unlock as DLC and this recent announcement).
Now is a good time to jump on board with Street Fighter V and the above price is a very attractive one.

I've played it since street fighter2 and this game I'm not buying, buy ultra street fighter instead
