Seems better than buying directly from Steam since Steam's delivery charge is hilarious...

I got this a month before release, was the most awkward thing to get used too. After a day of messing about, I sold it on for a profit.
If you're really wanting one, I won't discourage you. But if you're unsure on it, don't waste your money. Stick to an xbox/ps4 controller.

No response from Game. Pretty poor service tbh. Going to make proper complaint if I don't hear from them soon

Yes I reckon you did. I ordered this morning when both the controller with case and Steam Link were in stock at Game, but only the Steam Link has despatched apparently.

Price has gone back up too on the Steam store now £39.99 for the controller, and £39.99 for the LINK. Just checked my GAME order email confirmation, and I definitely got it at the lower price. So I may have just ordered it literally minutes before they changed the prices.

Just ordered controller and free case online for 27.99 for home delivery - and bought the LINK for 15.99 earler today in store - so total for me for CONTROLLER/CASE/LINK = £43.98
BUT a friend of mine just tried to do same a few mins after me, and he cannot get it at same price, which now seems to have jumped to to £57.98 for controller/case and £39.99 for the LINK.

Not bad, but only £43.98 from Game right now as both are in stock. The bundle from Steam doesn't have the controller case so there is no extra buying as a bundle over buying individually. Plus if Game get stock in of the controller with case again then you can add a controller case for free to that price of £43.98 from Game.

In all honesty this controller is so awkward at first but give it a chance. Since using it I've mainly played point and click games, Diablo 3 and other games that the other controllers just don't work with but I find a mouse and keyboard too cumbersome (for me). It's big, ugly and clunky but once you've played some keyboard and mouse only games with it you'll see how it comes into its own. It's ideal for games like stranded deep, Diablo 3 (and 1 & 2), broken sword etc. Had a bit of trouble with Fallout 4 but that's because I'm used to analogue sticks. Good controller with lots of buttons and customisation to be fair, just looks like a console controller's ugly cousin who no one really likes.
Effectively this bridges the gap for console gamers who can't fully get to grips with mouse and keyboard, like me.

seriously this controller is pants. Guarantee everyone who buys it will end up putting it on eBay.

Really not a good controller, like the other poster here, sold mine on for a profit and went back to the X360 pad. If you must play mouse and keyboard driven games, get a wireless mouse and keyboard.

I can vouch for this. I had a friend who waited what appeared to be years for it to be released, and when it did gaming nights would go something like this.... "Just one moment I need to setup my controls" (15 minutes later) "Whoa what's going on my character isn't moving" (followed by) "I'm going to have to setup my controls again, this thing is good when it's working" (30 minutes later) "It doesn't want to save my settings" me: "why don't you use your xbox controller?" him: "nah I'll get it working, it just needs an update" (20 minutes later) "I can't get this thing to work properly, shall we play an FPS game" This went on for about two weeks before it went in the draw and hasn't seen daylight since.

I had this from launch and couldn't get used to it.
Even X-COM 2 - the game it was bundled with, didin't work too well with it so I gave up and sold it.
KB+M for fast FPS/RTS games, X360/XOne controller for everything else, simple.

But their roughly £90+.
The steam controller is fairly cheap now, so might not be bad to test. i paid £48 I believe, but was steam credit. Which I wasn't planning on keeping if it was difficult to use.

I only used it for a little while. I can't really give a full opinion on it. It has a large learning curve. I tried prison escape, and a few fps games.
The keyboard trays they're bringing out seem a nicer idea for pc gaming in front of the TV. (keyboard with a built in mouse pad platform).

Would I be able to play games like Dark Souls etc with a DS4 Controller rather than the stream controller?

I use my Steam Controller for all third person action games now, Tomb Raider, Mordor, GTA etc and I couldn't be happier, I can aim properly with the pad and gyro (it's just like Splatoon) and have the extra grip buttons without paying for a more expensive controller. It's perfect for Rocket League, half a press on trigger to go, full press for boost, grip buttons for drift and jump. Also works okay as a sub for kb+m for single player fps games. Would highly recommend.

How have you got the aim working? Mine is always either over or under sensitive depending on the game. That's where it struggles most for me compared to other pads

Complete waste of time on a Mac. I took one back to Game for a refund as it would not work beyond some of the most basic of select / back functions.

Well I've tried it with quite a number of games. The ones where it struggled most for me have been first/third person games such as fallout or shadows of mordor, and also life is strange. Couldn't play witcher 3 at all when I tried with the controller. It's the missing right analogue that causes some games to struggle as they are made to be played with 2, I've even tried finding custom controller configurations but no luck.
It does fine for indie games and some driving games I've tried such as rocket league and dirt 3.

ha. yes. their delivery charge cheered me up! i got this with xcom 2. They now support xblx controllers for xcom 2. i tried this with gta v last night but found the shooting aim unresponsive even on max. anyone know a good set up for it?
