Picked up a pack of Starbucks coffee beans at Waitrose - currently on offer at £2.50 but each pack entitles you to a free tall latte in Starbucks so if you are going to visit a starbucks anyway then its like a free pack of coffee beans
Also don't forget to get your free coffee in Waitrose

If its only at non franchise outlets - how can you tell if it will work ?

Absolutely. It's not the best coffee in the world, but it's certainly on a par with Starbucks.
Chain coffee shops just like to add a bit of theatre to kid people along that they're selling something worth the high prices they charge - in reality it's much the same as you'll get anywhere else, or from a decent bean to cup machine. Much depends on the quality of the beans, and that's not going to be any better in Starbucks.

In what way is it not "proper" coffee??????
Its from a decent bean to cup machine, or if I go to the cafe they stand there and make it......just like in starbuks, costa, nero etc.

Cold cold cold. These vouchers have been on packets for months, as far as I know they've always been there!

What voucher? The price dropped from £3.50 to £2.50

But actually no worse than you get from Starsucks.

time to stock up.
the problem for these starbucks beans are they are quite severely burnt, lost the aroma .
But for 2.5 can't complain, really

I hate these height-ist deals.
Next thing you know I'll be excluded from the black coffee promotion.
Its no fun being a snow white dwarf.

I bought a few pouches of Starbucks beans back in the summer thinking the free latte made it a great deal, unfortunately most of the Starbucks near me refuse to accept them as they say they are franchises :disappointed:

Strange, this deal usually gets voted cold

It should be super hot as the OP mentions you can actually get 2 free cups of coffee with this deal:
One from Waitrose with a mywaitrose card when you purchase the Starbucks beans and then claim another from Starbucks with the wrapper. So that's 2 cups of coffee and 200g of beans all for £2.50!

Good deal, and heated accordingly. Is this coffee as tasteless and bland as Starbucks' though? I'm assuming it must be.

this sort of comment comes round as often as the tax comments but really can millions of people each day think its tasteless and bland. Maybe next time ask for a different drink or extra shots and if you dont like it they will replace it.

It comes in different varieties - I go for the Espresso which is fairly strong, but it comes down to how you make it.
Starbucks is by no means the best coffee, but its not bad, and at this price its almost the cheapest beans you can get in a supermarket

When does the latte voucher expire ?

It always used to be related to the use by date of the coffee

30 days prior to the sell by date. I think my packet is something like next September

Possibly. Maybe it's because people love a big brand. Or maybe they can't cope with real coffee flavour. Like most Americans, which is why the Americano was created.

Thanks for this  Starbucks usually let you have another drink of equal/lesser value if you don't fancy a latte.
