So long as you use no electricity at all for the rest of the time as that's how they get their money back...

Not really as the tariff is exactly the same the rest of the time as we were paying before

...which would be a very uncompetitive rate though.

You pay for more than just fuel though, you pay for ease of contact, customer service etc.......we have been with other providers such as EDL, NPower & SSE......all of which we would not return to due to crap customer service

British Gas is distinctly middling, according to uSwtich.

Can only comment on my experiences, I have found the others mentioned to be shockingly bad.....hence the reason we are no longer with any of them

Sure, you'd naturally be swayed by your own experiences, but you have to understand that those individual experiences have no bearing on the chances of them repeating if you went back to any of those companies.
