Based on the Argos reviews it's too loud to be an actual spy cam but good fun nonetheless. I've just ordered one for my little man.

We got this a couple of years ago for our son... it was crap! SERIOUSLY crap! Why?:
The camera is really low resolution so its hard to pick up whats actually on screen
The camera is slow and laggy as hell so its blurry when you move fast, hence its not easy to use as a way of navigating
The signal dropped pretty soon after it went out of the room sort of making it all a bit pointless
It is very loud
You don't get sound so you cant even leave it somewhere and earwig on conversation
Last thing, the arm on the back is perfect for forward movement, but when you reverse, the whole thing pivots so all you see is a grainy dark screen as the camera goes face first into the carpet.
We paid about £25 (half price) and we still thought it was tosh (even our tech mad 8yr old!), so it went back for a refund. The concept is cool, the reality is not so cool, perhaps good for a very young child?

I bought one recently. After 15 mins of use, one of the wheels stopped moving. Took it back, and got a replacement, which works fine. It does make a bit of noise, just as any rc car, I don't really see the problem as I doubt any kid will actually be using it for secret surveillance. The camera/ screen quality is not amazing, and the screen is quite small, but some people complaining about this are adults, this is a child's toy. My 7 yrs old loves it, and I've had fun controlling it from another room using the camera. It's £20, not a £700 drone. Not sure what people expect, but it's an absolute bargain, and I think any child would be very happy with it.

It was £25, what did you expect lol? I got one and all think it's really good. One of them people who expect to pay next to nothing and have something amazing, you get what you pay for.
