just be aware it's not the extended warranty that's offered by Currys that includes accidental damage etc, I was told when buying mine that it was. I only found out when I enquired about my cover plan documents a week later. That aside I love the TV, having Kodi built in is brilliant.

Is this the essentially the same as this Richer Sounds one for £619?
No proper HDR on that one (not sure how Sony's own contrast enhancer works in comparison to that). Not a big deal but worth noting.

What will happen if Currys put more discount on black Friday? Will they refund the difference like John Lewis or just wait for friday?

The guy in store today who wouldn't leave me alone, said they will refund the difference.

I want this but holding off, I still feel there's another £50-100 to come off or a voucher to come

Bought it today brilliant tv I asked about it coming down on Black Friday and was told as it is a black tag deal meaning it is an early Friday deal but if anything came down in price it would be refunded.
Tbh there is barely any info about the 49xd8305 and the one you linked is already tested and is best in class... so year it's a better deal as there are plenty of reviews for it.

It will still work on an 8bit panel. 10bit will display a greater range of colours though.

This one has a native 100hz panel so should be better than the xd8088
I did speak to the currys customer services and they have confirmed there will be no refund at all..
this model seems not very popular don't know the reason? Nobody else is selling it, only Currys... Please suggest me Sony 10bit 49 inch TV not interested in Ks7000 from Samsung...

Every time. An absolute no brainer. Had too many tvs go wrong not to have at least 5 years warranty.

So just don't open the box and return it and buy again if the price drops. Only have to wait a couple of days and you will know.

The panel is 120hrz native, but I will bet it can only put out 60hrz. The Samsung KS7000 is a 120hrz panel, but you can only get 60hrz out of it... for whatever reason this is a thing now, probably for better motion but they cheap out in the processing part so it won't output 120.
This is the one that guy posted, fantastic display.

Great link that is. Surprised that the 43" uses the (imo) superior VA panel and this 49" uses IPS... The VA is confirmed as 10bit, can it be assumed that the 49" IPS model is too?
Other than the poor peak brightness and vignette effetct it should give a decent stab at HDR. Not bad, not bad at all!

For all those asking these are not 10bit it is only the xd93/xd94 that are using a Au Optronics panel that are 10bit and meet UHD premium however don't advertise as meeting it. I was actually looking at this model a few weeks ago and didn't buy due to IPS display and the lack of 10bit.

I purchased the xd9305 over this which is 10bit

Do xd93/xd94 comes in 49 inch? I think the minimum they do is 55inch? I m looking for 49 inch...

Taken from the Sony sure, it says it has the following. Is this the fabled 10 bit or something else?

Yes (Up to 3840x2160/60p 10bit)

55 is minimum indeed if you can fit the extra size you should go for it. I did an wasn't disappointed after testing the xd83, 85 an 93.

23 Nov 16#41
Hi Orangek, huge price difference though, 93 is nearly double the price?
Orangek
23 Nov 16#42
Get what you pay for in this day and age. If you want future proof technology then you have to pay that premium price. Couple of features the 93 benefits over all the lower models is 3D, 10bit panel, Slim drive edge LED. Ips panels are very bright which wasn't something I ideally wanted either.

The xd8305 is 8 bit with Frame Rate Control which is probably software processing to enable it to have a 10bit effect.

So basically there is no 10 bit tv from Sony in 49 inch.. I m ready to invest more but 55 inch is too big for my living room. Bought Sony 8599 and returned due to its size. It looks only option left is Samsung ks7000??
