Agreed. I've got a 7 year old FHD 42 inch Panny plasma and haven't seen owt so far that blows it away when it comes to PQ/motion rendering...quite depressing, really.

Good deal. I'm thinking of getting this to replace my Samsung H6400. I'm finding the picture quite soft with motion when gaming.
The only problem I gave is that I'm housebound and won't be able to take a look before I buy. Does anyone know if Tesco allow the return of TVs in their 30 days returns policy if they'd been opened and briefly checked?

It is important that you connect the Xbox One S/PS4 Pro onto the HDMI 2 or 3 and that you change the 'HDMI signal format' to 'Enhanced format' in the input menu from the Android TV 'Home'.

I too was also stuck between those 2 TVs but ivwent with Sony cause its £150 cheaper and it hasn't got the super large footprint like the samsung. I prefer the stand in the middle of tv. Makes it easier to turn round on my shelf when im in bed.

I got this TV from richer sounds only 3 days ago, (i paid £649 with 6 year guarantee) its got a Game mode on the picture settings which makes it good for playing fast pace games like BF4,

Doesn't seem to be in stock now. Amazon are no longer price matching but Argos are doing it for slightly more at £620.
If you're still interested in this TV, bear in mind that it isn't UHD because it's peak brightness doesn't hit 1000 nits. You'll get a wide gamut of colour thanks to the 10 bit panel but the contrast won't be as good as it should be.

I agree it is a good price for 'Sony'. I have not voted cold either because I respect the OP's effort. My question is should we buy an overpriced product when we have plenty of other products of the same quality which cost less?

43" is simply way too small for a 4K TV. You need a large screen to see the benefits from this resolution. I'd argue 50" is the minimum (and yes, I know mobile phones have 4K displays now... You also read them much closer to your eyes than you do a TV!)

I'm sorry but I disagree. I've seen the charts with viewing distance/TV size etc but I have also seen a friend's 43" 4k Sony playing YouTube videos and the PQ was unreal.. so clear and vibrant. I was sat a good 1-2m away too.

Disagree the new panels are much better, I had plasmas for years. LCDs still a little too sensitive over poor sources but given an HDR source, Amp and TV there just isn't a comparison... go check it out.
May do 10bit processing for HDR10 but isnt the panel only 8bit+FRC?

It looks like it is not the rtrings review (link above)tested peak brightness and it does not come close to the minimum requirement for premium uhd certification.

But 43" is a good size if your living room is small-ish and you don't want it consumed by a Telly.....
This is the right size for us, we currently have a 37" 720p Pana - plasma, the overall footprint would be similar to this
