If you want the full Sonos eco systems (which is great!) and include surround then I understand it, you will just pay a premium. There are better surround systems with wires for less or similar price.
I can't deny I haven't looked at it. I'll look again... Thanks

Maybe a Yamaha 581 amp which would leave you with a good budget for speakers. The amp will have MusicCast which you can control it with your phone, stream music etc and add wireless speakers, multiroom etc.

I love Sonos, got the a One and a Connect, brilliant devices. However for a home theatre/surround option I think you are wasting money, the setup is well over priced, and pretty limited tech wise. You could buy something with similar performance (albeit not wireless) or get something that would out perform it for a similar price. Just my opinion.
It's great kit.

I hear you...but I don't necessarily agree. I am looking for a system that I can use for music and home cinema depending on the situation. I plan to use the sound bar everyday and then turn on the play 1s in the background when we are enjoying a movie or watching a good game of footy. I will use the whole system as a music centre when we have friends and family round to socialise.
im also buying an Echo or Dot from Amazon so I plan on using that in tandem with this system. most other systems I've looked at get inferior reviews or they are only great for one thing or the other...but not both.
I'd be happy to hear your recommendations as I'm still not 100% set on this system. I just thought it was a great price so I grabbed it whilst it was available and can always pay the return costs if I decide it isn't for me.

I think you could get a lot better cinema setup for the money.

Is there not a lot of choice for streaming music to speakers these days?
Personaly I'm going for a Yamaha AV receiver with MusicCast.

That's the key thing. Wireless, streaming, room sync etc. Yes it is expensive, but choices are extremely limited and few, if any, offer the same level of convenience.

Entirely depends on you. I bought an additional for a stereo pair, but didn't find it beneficial enough so stuck it in another room. That said, if I had the money I'd have a stereo pair in both rooms.

Was wondering if the sale was going to apply to places outside of the USA. Had read an article by CNET saying they would be on sale at $50 off. There say these rarely go on sale other than rrp.
