Ordered in time. Really would like to see them honour this but have had amazon cancel far smaller misprices so think it is very likely to get cancelled. Add that to the fact they have up to a month to see their mistake (if they haven't already) before they come back in stock.

Still that said would be a lovely surprise if I get a pair...

Seriously? The company has been going since the 1920s and was the name in studio microphones. You would recognise one if you saw one. They are pretty iconic.



Nowadays, it also has a well regarded line in mid to high range headphones and earphones. This deal is more at the budget end of things but will still sound better than most are used to and at £31 would be a real bargain if Amazon doesn't cancel.

Really hope this is the case. Have to admit I'm sceptical as any mispriced items I have ordered from Amazon before have always just been outright cancelled, and indeed many on here have reported this too, and this even happened on the 1TB SSD misprice, which happened almost exactly the same time as these, though I think they would have lost a bit more with those.

However, I really hope we see this policy appear more often with regard to misprices....

Yes, I'm very interested to see what happens, though as time passes with the order still active, I know I will get more and more hopeful and then will probably be really annoyed if they cancel it, which admittedly they are allowed to do.

I'm not sure whether it would put me in a stronger position to try and get chat confirmation they will be delivered like Herbert did but I'm not sure if it is actually wise to draw their attention towards it like that in case they say it was wrong and cancel it on the spot....

Amazon's stance of allowing one set each at the incorrect price certainly seems odd but I'm going to keep schtum and see what happens. No reason to rock the boat....

No other packaging or box to protect the headphones.

Seriously I'd be a bit miffed at this price and berating them on the phone/chat if I'd bought them at full price, it's surprising as amazon are normally top notch for packaging...

Mine changed today to preparing for shipment and now they are at dispatching now stage. There's hope!!

Mine arrived in an Amazon box with address label, clear plastic bag (with another address label stuck to bag) and then the Shure box itself. The Amazon box was a little too small but there was no damage to the Shure box. The headphones are definitely brand new - the Shure box was sealed with a piece of sticky tape and all the products in the box are in there cellophane wrappers.

Now to try them....

First impressions are that they are very good. I expected them to be a little light on bass from the reviews I've read but I think the bass balance is good. I'm comparing them to the £200 Denon AH-MM400 that I have and so far they are up to the challenge.

Very comfortable for me.

Early days, but I will look forward to breaking them in.

Mines arrived with no packaging other than the box but no damage whatsoever.

but woah - these take some driving ! - my Note 3 is my go to music playback device - I actually find it audio quality wise (to me) nearly as good as my Fiio E17 DAC/amp - but the Shures didn't sound good from the Note 3

through the E17 though they sound great :smiley: these headphones must be pretty tough to drive

Regarding comments earlier about these being quite hard to drive, does that mean I can't just hook them up to say my PC, TV or phone directly and listen? Do they need a separate amplifier? I know the cheapish audio components in those devices probably won't deliver the full quality these can do, but should still sound decent hopefully?

Mine arrived today. I'm impressed with a great range :smiley: They are picking up definitions in audio that I haven't heard before and feel very comfortable. Apparently, they get even better after they have been used for 100 hrs or so.

If they do get better it'll be very subtle, you'll just get used to the signature.

Just trying them for the first time and impressions are good and i think they'll get better when they loosen up a bit. Take some driving - using a Sony NWZ A15 through a Topping NX1 amp and it just about manages.

Will be trying it through a SMSL M6 DAC/Headphone amp later so will see what that is like.
I actually find them comfortable and they do not move about on my head which is good.
Going to have to do something about those ridiculous thin wires on the headband hinges though, as mentioned above. They look very vulnerable to a drop or pinch, so might forfeit the looks and reinforce them with some electrical tape or similar and get some small rubber chocks to fix the band in the correct position to reduce movement.
However, for this price was a no brainer.

I'm going to try them with a audioquest dragonfly dac - which I'd recommend to any people struggling to drive them.

Mine arrived today, just in the Shure box with no outer Amazon packaging. All sealed and surprisingly pristine.
Tried them out with an ipod classic and s7 edge, both with a topping nx1 inbetween, and very impressed. As another poster had mentioned, I can't understand comments about a lack of bass. There's more than plenty available! The amount of detail these pull out of even just mp3 is quite amazing. Build seems solid enough, not by any means luxurious but then again they're not really built for luxury are they?
I'd be happy with these for £120-odd, £31.01 is a mighty steal!

Mine arrived today out of the blue. I don't think these are too difficult to drive, really. My AQ Dragonfly manages with plenty of room to spare but am getting distortion at mid to higher volumes on a busy rock/pop track. Might be the track or these need to burn in a bit.

Tried with my Fiio X3ii and they fared quite nicely with a more choral track. Detail was excellent. I could hear a fan spinning in the background during a quiet bit in the recording.

These clamp quite tightly and might be a bit sweaty/uncomfortable for long listening spells. Never been keen on coiled cables but for £31 I am certainly not complaining. A nice touch was the spare pair of ear pads in the box.

Mine came too. Actually were packaged very well though I had ordered a few other items so they put everything in a big box, lots of brown paper, the works like Amazon usually package ime. The headphones themselves were in a clear plastic bag and fully sealed as one would hope. Not tried them yet but they certainly look the part, surprised the headband cable is 100% concealed though like most other headphones though...

Collected from sorting office this affy because "we're so busy at this time of year, and with vans going in and out all the time, I can't tell you if it's on one or not". Clearly could coz they were at the front office when I got there. Royal Mail eh? :smirk:
