Yeah, 10MegaBytes/s which is fine for 60Megabits/s 8-bits to a byte.

ROTFL. You really don't understand MicroSD cards and testing methodology do you? ATTO? You can tell that straight away that something has gone wrong with that guy's test just by looking at the 1MB write results

Jeezus ... 2.5 years old tests when this SanDisk(80MB/s) card was not even available. Every tests should be done between 2 same capacity cards anyway... Here you have this year comparison between 128gb Sandisk and Samsung Evo which clearly shows which card is better: https://www.servethehome.com/sandisk-ultra-samsung-evo-128gb-microsdxc-battle-40-price-point/
...so please stop posting your stupid and obsessive comments

What on earth?! You're arguing something I never even mentioned. Find one quote where I say that the cards have the same performance. You won't, because I didn't. In fact, I acknowledged one may be faster.
So stop your 'always-right' attitude and face the fact that the majority of people don't need a card that may write 33% faster, judging on that one benchmark you cite.
Now, obviously, the Samsung card is now at the same price at the Sandisk. But it wasn't two days ago when you last replied saying people should get the Samsung card which then cost nearly 50% more...
Picard123
22 Nov 16#34
Jeeezus.....do you not understand that cards, even within the same U1 classification have different performance? Some are faster, some are slower. It's not rocket science.
If you want a faster card for the same price as this, get the Samsung Evo card:
"Using our Consumer Testing Platform, we measured transfer speeds from the 32GB Samsung EVO microSD card with IOMeter. Sequential posted read and write speeds of 44.4MB/s and 19.1MB/s respectively. The SanDisk Ultra recorded sequential activity at 44.66MB/s and 14.29MB/s for read and write respectively. The Toshiba card showed the slowest results, measuring 34.3MB/s read and 12.1MB/s write." - SR.com
It's more reliable and still faster.
If you want high bit rate 1080p video recording, get the Evo+
It's not rocket science. There are tons of reviews and benchmarks on the web that take 30 seconds to find.

Bit confused. Can't use for fast track or click and collect. So how do I get Quidco. Do I need to get this delivered. And if so doesn't that cancel out the cashback?

8 bits in a byte, so 25Mb/s is a tad over 3MB/s.
1Gb is a gigabit, 1GB is a gigabyte. The capitalisation of the b makes a big difference.

My computer maths aren't great. Does a write speed of around 25Mbps mean it would take about 40 seconds to write 1Gb?
Picard123
20 Nov 16#30
That's where you're completely going wrong - you just don't understand how performance of MicroSDs and how the classifications work.
This is very slow for a MicroSD card. The Samsung for example has twice the sequential write speed for example yet both are 'U1' class cards.
And no, you don't need to "spend £50" for a fast(er) card.
pavel76
20 Nov 161#29
Do I really need to read same boring comments from you about these cards before posting a deal ? There is simply no much difference for most people which could justify much higher price for Evo+... you need to spend at least £50 to get fast card
Ashe

Rather than making invalid comparisons, and totally ignoring requests to back up reliability claims for some reason, perhaps I would suggest you make more constructive comments.
For example, you could have written instead "Although this is the best price for those who feel they don't need higher write speeds, I'd recommend a faster card if you do". Simple.

I tend to let my PC/device copy large amounts of files across while I do something else.
As for reliability, well, you'd have to point people towards a sufficiently large study of failure rates. I haven't had a Sandisk fail on me, but as they're one of the most common cards, obviously you will hear of more failures.
pavel76
20 Nov 16#24
Could you show us confirmation of write speeds between these 2 cards please ?
Picard123
20 Nov 16#23
If wasting several hours or more of your life watching files copy across compared to a faster card is not a big deal to you, then get this card.
For anyone who values several hours of their time at more than £10, and who want a more reliable card, they'd be better off with something else.
Ashe

So, what you're saying is, for the people who aren't going to use it in a manner that would be affected by what you say (e.g. music storage), you can't come up with a better price for the same thing?

Whats the difference that could justify spending £38 for Evo+ over £25 for this Sandisk ?
Picard123
20 Nov 16#20
You're not understanding write speeds or the way that cards are classified. Just because two cards are U1 doesn't mean that they perform the same. These Sandisk 'Ultra' cards are the most basic, entry level MicroSD cards you can get these days (apart from the ancient cards from many years ago).

20 Nov 16#19
Evo+ have same speeds and cost over £38 at Amazon... so don't really understand your comments
Picard123

I'd happily pay £5-10 for something faster and more reliable. Eg. Samsung Evo+.
I'd rather spend my time more productively that repeatedly stare at files being written.

U1 is guaranteed a minimum of 10Mbps.
Can't believe this deal has got so much heat (I can only assume that many of the people voting hot don't have a clue).
These Sandisk Ultra cards are very slow when writing, particularly with sequential writes. Gets nowhere close to 60Mbps. When I last benchmarked this using Crystal, write speeds fluctuated it alot and it was topping out at a maximum of around 25Mbps. In real world use, particularly copying 1gb+ size files onto it, it's disappointingly slow - significantly slower than using the phone's built in storage.
MicroSD cards really are an anachronism these days. They were never designed for high speed, high capacity write usage which is what people are trying to use them for. The sooner they are replaced with a new standard, the better.
COLD for me - I've got one and wouldn't buy another one again, regardless of the price.

Good deal, but don't try to use it to record 4k at 100Mbps. A UHS-I card is good up until 60Mbps so ok for high quality 1080p video, but not for 4k.
