Completely agree - I have a Samsung 60 inch from a few years back so waiting for 75 inch ones to come down to this price which I am guessing will be in a couple of years. Perhaps a year if I am lucky.

​No such thing as 8 bit HDR, you need a 10 bit panel. And also those panels don't have sufficient brightness (1000 nitts) to run HDR.

I paid 206 pound for the 40" model, so I can't complain. The PS4 pro detects the TV as HRD10, so it is.

I've been toying with the idea of upgrading my 55" samsung to 65" and have ben considering this model. But I've also looked at the Hisense, Sony and the S7000/S8000. Reading various reviews, there is a lot of people reporting issues with motion blurring on the S7000/S8000 series. The Hisense 7000 appears to have the same panel (Quantum Dot) as the S7000/S8000. Is that correct? Does the Hisense also experience the motion problems? Does any one know if the 6400/6020 etc has any motion issues?

It's a minefield buddy go and see one in person then make your mind up, been a Sony fan for years but wasn't impressed with picture performance against the Samsung KS7000.

Having owned my 51 Samsung ps51e6500 Plasma for the last few years.. (just checked email, been 4years, time goes quick)
Was a steal at £729 at the time I bough it.

Now it's a shame that resale value on TVs is so low and that I already have a Sony 42 in my bedroom, with no space for bigger (fits in an alcove)

I'm just wondering in the last 4 years, how tv's have improved. I'm thinking maybe we are in a gap and some greater improvement is around the corner to blow everything out of the water. But technology moves fast and also companies like to drip feed us with slightly better products to tempt us to buy like sheep (Im looking at you Apple!)

I sit around 10 feet away from my Tv and think my eyes are deteriorating a little as the Sky menu is a little blur for writing...HD loos like what I remember standard to be.

Anyways it's 4:30am and I'm waffling to myself.

What I'm trying to ask, is what Tv is best out there for max £1,500?
Where can I get a good read of all the confusing Samsung models.

Also back when I got my Samsung Plasma, it was the standout best value for money buy and many on forums bought them (Though more bought 60 version)
I know if I upgrade I deffo want a wow factor again as eyes are used to 51inch so would like a bigger impact.

Hope anyone reading is not bored and can help in some way.

yeh i'm in no rush, have a 4 year old 55" samsung hd tv which cost me around £900 back then.still works fine although nowhere near as gd as today's models
like you i've gone through 4 sets over the past 11 years.

It really is the mutt's nuts when you're stood in front of it, alas the thing is they're all the mutt's nuts when you first get them but it's only a year or two before there's plenty of other new'uns out there that trump your pride n joy hands down.

Been through 4 flat panels over the last 11 years, starting on a 32 inch Panasonic which cost me 1800 quid at the time to my current 49 inch curved Samsung which I got in a one day special from Media Markt for around €700 in January this year when I was still over in Austria.

The more I ponder the KS8000 the more I'm convincing myself to wait till after all the new ranges have come out in Spring and it's price has dropped significantly.

I thought the same, i did a lot of homework and side by side comparisons in different stores and once calibrated the picture is spectacular on HD and 4K so it's worth every penny in my opinion, the wife won't let me change it again lol it's the second TV in less than a year

I think it uses some kind of flash trickery between colours to get more colours than it can actually display. Personally I dont reckon the difference between 8 and 10 bit is worth £4-£500 extra on a TV.

I own the 42" great TV! Natural colours, low input lag for gaming and has been updated to HDR10.
