Did you offer an opinion? I can't make it out if you did. You seem to be under the impression the input lag is not good but what exactly have you seen to back this up? What exactly have you seen that is better and how did you measure it?

Please, if you have objective evidence to back up your opinion on why this TV's input lag is bad, please provide it as it would fly in the face of all the professional reviews I've seen where they measure lag with proper equipment and offer comparisons to specific competitors.

Agreed ... I just bought the ks7000 60 inch for 999.99 on Ebay refurb. Wanted the ks8000 :smiley: But was put off by some family members not to buy a expensive tv. 1150.00 for the ks8000 55 inch refurb on Ebay. So after seeing the ks7000 60 inch which is usually 1449.99 (after code), i just had to press the buy button didnt I! 150 cheaper and 5 inches bigger.

I'm not sure whether John Lewis or even Richer Sounds would price match this, because Co-op actual retail price is in fact the same as Curry's, John Lewis etc. The use of voucher or discount codes, from my personal experience, has been excluded when they consider price matching.
On a separate note, as exceptionally well built as this and most Samsung TV's are, personally, I would purchase it from Curry's or John Lewis for £100 more with the 5 year warranty included.

I can confirm John Lewis will not price match if you have to use a code.
I asked a few weeks ago about this same TV when Currys had a 10% code (listed here).
The JL 'rules' for price match are that the deal has to be openly advertised to all customers

Got 49 inch. This TV is amazing! Good price but maybe paying a little bit more for John Lewis 5 year warranty is not such a bad idea

It actually has great reviews for gaming. Much lower input lag than the LG OLED. Best 10bit panel tv for mixed usage for under £1000. (for the uninitiated the ks8000 in the USA is the KS7000 in Europe. This review is on an American site thus the USA code)

I have the 49" version and I love it. If you get one, first thing you should do is enable HDMI CEC. With very little config at all, the supplied BT remote control now does the TV, surround sound (via HDMI ARC), TiVo and my Android box. I have had it a month and still not felt the urge to re-program my Harmony remote.
Two words of warning though. First, my WiFi would not connect to anything (WPA, WEP, unsecured nor phone hotspot). Could be a one off. Second, the connections to this TV are in a break out box. Brilliant if you have this on a table. Rubbish if you are going to wall mount it. It has taken me hours to get a cable arrangement I am happy with.

Not having wifi is a problem unless you can manually update the tv software via a usb stick. I would send it back if it is under warranty.

Does this not mean you only have to track enough room for 2 cables (power and break out connector)? I dont have a tracked wall and will be using trunking and if this makes that trunking smaller then that is good imo.
I've been looking the top specs TV's. Least of the new releases. This will not compare. I went to a gaming show with similar specs difference to the new flagship and there is a big difference. Like I said it's to the hardcore gamers not casual gamers.

You wont find much lower input lag on a TV. I'm even tempted to say this is one of the lowest (if not the lowest) of all 4K tv's currently on the market for input lag. I'm not sure any TV will get much lower.
As someone else has said, if you want lower input lag then you need to look at monitors.

Are lower quality files, like avi mkv and mp4 type files at 720p and 1080p, which are perfectly acceptable, or even quite good on a 1080p TV. Are they still better quality up-scaled on this KS7000 ?

I got the ks8000 from richer sounds. check their clearance stock. they had an open box one for £1,060 and had been out of a box for a couple of days before return. full 5 year warranty and a great saving

Got the curved version of this (KS7500). Amazing picture quality. and upscaling of regular HD is fantastic.
I've had some of the smart apps playing up (I haven't been able to get ITV Hub to work...) but I can use that on any number of attached devices (apple TV, PS4, etc).
Remote could be better, the LG smart remote is far better but it does the job. Great TV overall but a few niggles.
thats the USA version, their models are 8000 to our 7000 and so on, i am waiting for the best price on the 7000 would love it at £999, but you need a sound bar as this is it's Achilles heel. Anyone recommend a Bar for under £250 that would do this baby justice.

lots of issues with the 7000 and 8000 rear panels coming away on this years models. I had a 7000 and had the issue myself. They're designed to look good from the front and the back - so use glue instead of screws. Basically no way of reattaching other than pealing the rear totally off and replacing the logic board and rear panel, at least according to a Samsung engineer that came over.
I thought the panel itself was good though and this is a good price for it.
Ended up with a Sony 55DX9305.

I've called Richer Sounds who will price match from the below which has a £70 code and as well as RS price beat they will knock a further £20 so you get this TV for £1009 with a 6 year guarantee!
I'm not a professional or know anything about TVs just thought it relevant as the guy directly refers to this set!

It was between this and the ks8000, I went for ks8000 £400 more, the speakers are far better if you see the specs, the stand , build quality (back heats up on this one and comes off), screen has a few extra better specs. I watch tv hours per day and it will last years , £400 is not much extra for the amount you use it. And what a beast it is. If £1000 is your budget buy this but if £400 extra isn't much to you buy the 8000. Stand best I've seen on a Tv and trim round edge far better . 4th Samsung in a row and it's a hell of a lot better. 4K test video on YouTube is unbelievable picture. Use the avforum YouTube video to calibrate it don't use the out of box settings.

Ah ok. So what is the point in Game Mode, why does the 7000 have to be in said mode to achieve lower input lag oppose to the 8000 that is not reliant on this mode for low input lag? Obviously other settings are being downgraded, making the 8000 considerably better no?

Well yes, the 8000 is better, its higher up the range and more expensive. I'm not sure what lag comparison you're referring to though. The reviews on HDTVTest for the 7000 and 8000 show pretty comparable results for input lag between the two when they're in game mode. I've not seen anyone bother to test input lag without gaming mode enabled, have you?

You woudl think so, but the cable from the TV to the box is only about 1m long. This cable is proprietary. There is a replacement cable offered by Samsung that is 1.5M long and costs about £60. Such a stupid wasted opportunity. If only they had used HDMI, they would have created the perfect TV.
Also, annoyingly for me, the HDMI ARC port and Optical TOSLINK port are on the breakout box. I have my soundbar below the TV so I still need to run multiple cables from the Connect Mini to the TV, defeating the purpose of it. Previously I just had a cable tabled to the back of the screen to handle audio pass through.
I do love the TV though. If you get one, seriously consider an Android R Box Pro to go with it. Great source of 4k content, fast, and controlled well via HDMI CEC.
for your personal installation, it depends how far the box is intended to be from the TV, and whether your TV is on an arm or flush mounted. If your current HDMI cables are 1m or less, you will probably get away with it. If your mount has an inch of space before the TV, you can mount the box on the wall behind the TV and route the cables normally. This is what I ended up doing.

I'm not a professional or know anything about TVs just thought it relevant as the guy directly refers to this set!
Apparently HDR is not active in game mode on this set, see video posted above...
Also, annoyingly for me, the HDMI ARC port and Optical TOSLINK port are on the breakout box. I have my soundbar below the TV so I still need to run multiple cables from the Connect Mini to the TV, defeating the purpose of it. Previously I just had a cable tabled to the back of the screen to handle audio pass through.
I do love the TV though. If you get one, seriously consider an Android R Box Pro to go with it. Great source of 4k content, fast, and controlled well via HDMI CEC.
for your personal installation, it depends how far the box is intended to be from the TV, and whether your TV is on an arm or flush mounted. If your current HDMI cables are 1m or less, you will probably get away with it. If your mount has an inch of space before the TV, you can mount the box on the wall behind the TV and route the cables normally. This is what I ended up doing.
Will look into the android box too.....getting a bit tired of casting and its limitations
I would go for 8000 for £1200 thus saving on bar.
