The description at the time said it included a smart remote, and it didn't, basically picked around 15% and asked for it a partial refund

£68 back from Curry's? How'd you manage that... Got £45 back myself, and £55 from TCB as quidco crashed on the day. Can't complain though, £100 off

quidco paid out £75, had to ask them and they added it as a lot of people's didn't track correctly so they said

(also managed to get £68 back from currys as the description was wrong when purchasing)

£307 in the end, not bad

I got that part of the cashback and have a claim lodged to try and get the rest. I've withdrawn my funds in case they somehow try to get it back when Currys report that I've already had a partial refund of the TV... although that said, the cashback was for a 50" TV, regardless of price, so I'd like to think we're all eligible for the full £55.

My TV turned on in the middle of the night by itself. Frightened the hell out of us.

I went down and switched it off but the same thing happened a couple of times during the same night.

I checked the software update and that is up to date and also all the timers are switched off.

It hasn't happened since but anyone else had anything similar happen?

Hi,

We are writing to you about your cashback claim, as we have now had a response from the retailer. Unfortunately, on this occasion your claim has been declined.

I have listed below the possible reasons that your cashback claim may have been declined:

• The purchase was partially returned, cancelled or the order amended.
• The purchase was not completed wholly online.
• You didn’t clear your cookies before you made your purchase, Quidco may not be seen as the referrer of the sale.
• You didn’t comply with the terms and conditions of the retailer.
• A voucher code or gift code not authorised by us was used.
• The merchant has ceased trading or has gone into administration.

Cashback is a referral commission that we receive from the retailer for referring the sale to them, unfortunately if we do not receive the commission we cannot pass this onto our members as cashback which is regrettably the case here.

I do understand this may be disappointing and we share your disappointment when something like this happens.

I’m very sorry that I cannot help further.

Kind regards,

Support Team

Same with me. Bought a few days earlier through quidco. I got the 10% refund and I already got the cashback ready to be paid amounting £5.61. Satisfied with getting the TV with only £400 after substracting the refund and cashback.

Quick response from TCB:

I got the refund and still got my cash back which is payable and claimed now. However, I bought the tv a few days before topcashback upped their cash back deal. So i got £6.17. But I did get my tv straight away so no waiting for orders. Either way, the refund did not affect my cashback.

Ah yes that makes sense. No I didn't get the refund from Currys as I never bothered phoning up - considered it but too busy.

Also when you raise a declined claim you can no longer pick £55 cashback, it only lets you pick £50.

Very disappointing service from TCB - no way to send them a message that I can see either.

17 Jan 17 #472
£374 is the TV minus VAT. Seeing that the cashback isn't going to be percentage based anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about this figure, but yes, definitely chase why it's been declined.

Did you get the refund from Currys at all? I expected mine to be declined because I did, but it says it's confirmed now, just at a lower amount.

Seriously pi**ed off, just logged into TCB to lodge a claim and mine has been declined - no reason whatsoever. It was tracking at £3.74 before and for some reason they tracked the amount as £374 not £449.

I've raised a claim but i'm not hopeful.

Never using TCB again, never had this with Quidco - hardly used TCB, only used it as Quidco was down all black friday!

Rang last week to try and get the 10%, was repeatedly told I could give the TV back or they would refund £25 that they currently sell the 'smart remote' for. I continued to push saying it's not just the lack of remote that I am complaining about, it's also the lack of voice control. Was again told they same thing. I then pushed back saying that the amount they have offered isn't good enough and that in my previous experience the company should offer at least 10%.... they put me on hold then came back saying they would do 10%. Happy with that.... just don't take no guys, keep pushing!

haven't been able to find the All4 app myself but this is my second samsung smart tv and my I had the same problem with my first one. but after 4/5 months all the catch-up appeared. I remember sending email to samsung and they basically said because the tv is still new they are waiting for the app developers to catch up.

also a quick note you will have to update your tv manual via usb stick if the tv is unable to find software update through wifi automatically. (had this problem with my first set)

so just to sum up. wait few more months before firing your guns!

Well after 1.20mins on the phone to KnowHow on Friday evening, I managed to get my 10% refund. Straight forward & no arguements on their side either. It just took so long holding & being transferred to technical, who said he'd spoken to someone a couple of days ago with the same problem, & then put through to the online team who asked what I wanted. I asked what my options were & was straight away offered a refund & they would pick up the TV, or 10% off as a goodwill gesture. Happy days.... Now fingers crossed I still get the £55 cashback from TCB.

Damn, I cleared the open tabs that had it on my phone just this morning! I had a copy of the cached Google page open for it, but the cache has since been updated :disappointed:

I'd push this issue on the phone with them - at the end of the day, at the time of purchase their website gave this incorrect information. As a result, you have been missold this product, and make sure you say that to them. Should make them jump and speak to their manager if you accuse them of misselling a product - and worst case, accuse them of breaking the Misrepresentation Act 1967, as the product was misrepresented (Google suggests this might have been replaced by the Consumer Rights Act 2015 though):
https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/template-letters/letters/problems-with-services/letter-to-claim-damages-for-misrepresented-goods-and-services/

Really, they should prove to you that their site DIDN'T say what you claim (they'd have to do so if Trading Standards went after them). When I was on the phone, the guy seemed to be able to check when the info was last updated at least (which they will see was either last Friday or later, as they have changed the VESA size info too following my own advice from when I called them)
iz123456789
13 Dec 16 #447
I have been asking this but it seems like no one has a screen shot for proof, not even the original spotter who first notice it, although they've now corrected it on Curry's website however on their Ebay site it still the same...? (Haven't checked myself) my best bet is you got a chance on the phone. forget emailing! (I did mine on the phone and they did not ask for a proof or anything) got approved within 10mins. (had to wait 10mins to be connected first though)

If I knew this TV would end up costing me £400 I would of gotten another one!

anyways good luck

I was wondering if anyone could kindly post a screenshot of the voice control being included in the specifications?

Re calling Currys about the lack of voice control...

On the phone to them now. Knowhow tech support called Samsung to confirm that the TV definitely doesn't support it, and definitely won't come with a Smart Remote because of this. They've put me through to the 'Online team', who I advised of the error... He spoke to his manager, came back and apologised, thanked me for telling them and tried to get rid of me. I had to push the fact I had been missold based on their incorrect information... he went back to his manager and has come back offering a 10% refund

Free number for Knowhow (as opposed to the number on their site): 0800 587 8787

Didn't get a number to go straight to the 'Online team' as Knowhow put me through after confirming the lack of the feature.

7 Dec 16 #431
It is actually quite light considering its size, our old 40" Samsung is heavier, but with an injury it may be wise to get some help.

I found it easy to attach the stand and place the TV on its cabinet, however, I would not attempt to mount it on a wall by myself due to its awkward size.

The stand is not very stable, there is quite a lot of top wobble, our 40" with its heavy glass stand is rock solid.

Ordered Thursday 24 November and took delivery on Monday 5 December.

I used the video posted on here to calibrate the TV and the picture is beautiful. SD TV is naturally very soft when upscaled to a 50" UHD panel but it is watchable.

I downloaded some 4K demo videos from youtube, with the calibration the picture is amazing, it looks too good for a £449 TV.

I saw the samsung next to a Panasonic TV in Currys costing over twice the price, side by side there was virtually no difference, the Panasonic appeared a little sharper but certainly not twice the picture. However, once calibrated I would guess the Samsung is just as good if not better.

There are a few things I want to point out which are either unexpected or not as described:

1. There is no bluetooth support, I didn't expect a tv at this range being NO bluetooth at all

3. The VESA Mount is 400 x 400, Currys website said it's 200x200.

Just spoken to Currys myself. They said they are getting 900 in their warehouse on the 4th dec, then 5000 on the 15th dec for deliveries.
Bit annoyed with them though as when I rang them last Friday morning they said my order was automatically cancelled due to no stock, so checked online again and re-ordered another one as it showed as in stock again. They charged me for both so I've now gone over my credit card limit. I've now cancelled one of them, but am gonna be charged a fee for going over my limit!!!

Ive had an absolute nightmare with their delivery service on this, just to let yall' know
took half a day off work to wait for their 'promised' delivery time and it never arrived. called them up and after a lengthily hold was told it was about 70 miles away and they mustn't have noticed I was down for a morning slot. then he said id need to wait about 4 days to have it attempted 'or not attempted' again. asked to speak to a manger, but they never called.

to add insult to injury, the depot is about a 10 minute drive from my house? but god forbid someone go against a delivery schedule and pop it round in the morning - regardless if its their error that's caused the problem.

never again.

Hey, when I called I didn't mention getting a discount at first. I just asked how to set up the voice recognition as I chose this tv over another as it hadvoice recognition accordingto their site. They then asked me to check the tv number on the back (ue50ku6020) to check it was the correct one. He then asked me to go in the settings to the voice recognition section, which doesn't exist. He said I could send it back but I said I didn't like the idea of that has it's out of the box and set up so he suggested the discount. Try that and if they don't offer then just straight out ask. Let us know how you get on.

The SD quality like eastenders, simpson, xfactor, cant pay well take it away ( ) all looks good (whatever up-scale software/hardware they are using on the KU6020 is amazing. Glad i didn't spend more money on the KU6670 (for some reason SD looks better on the cheaper KU6020 models hmm) anyways 2/3 years got my eyes on the 10bit panels when prices drop!

Just rang curry's for wrong product information/description for this ue50ku6020 tv

35mins on the phone.
At first it was like they weren't going to honor the 10% partial refund but spoke to the manager and it was done!
should take 3-5 working days for money to appear

I did asked for confirmation email.. been roughly 15mins since the call nothing in my inbox.

Thanks HUKD & a special thanks to "lambsgroup22" if it wasn't for you non of us would be getting this 10%
I think we owe you a drink my friend!

I just found the ad on ebay but sold by currys. It's the same description on original Currys website I guess. This is what's written.

Box contents: Samsung UE50KU6020 Smart 4k Ultra HD HDR 50" LED TV, Smart remote control, Mini wall mount support, VESA wall mount support, User manual, AC power cable, Remote control battery

I spoke to the currys tech team who said it should come with a smart remote but mine and others have not come with one. The which review available further up this post says it come with a standard remote.

If anyone is near Fareham in Hampshire i have one of these coming on Thursday that I no longer want and am planning on cancelling if not. Hi. Can anyone confirm that the TV comes with a smart remote? Because I remember reading a smart remote in the description the other day. Now I've received the product but there's no smart remote included, only a normal TV remote. I tried to check again the advertisement but it's no longer there. Just tried the Voucher Code: "CE30" and got "Sorry, that offer has now ended"

and also checked just Quidco it states "Up to 12% / £75 cashback on purchases you make at Currys" Not sure what all the T&C are

but bought this TV for £449.00
if I were to able to get all the discounts
(-£30 curry code and -£75 quidco) £105 - £449 = £344

so yeah potentially could've saved £105 and got it for £344 (that's if everything worked out)

but you snooze you lose, so i'll just go and cry to my mama!

Got this tv ue50ku6020 for my parents 4 days ago and check and search the app store and I can't seem to find All4 app (Channel 4 player app) but if I remember correctly when I got my Samsung Smart TV few years ago (2013) I didn't have My5 (Channel 5 player app) but in 3/4 months after It was there... (I believe because the TV is still new therefore the app may still be in development by the developers?)

This is what I found on the internet
"Apps shown may not be available on all Samsung Smart TV products. The Samsung Smart TV platform is used by Content Providers to make apps available. Content Providers may remove apps from the Smart TV platform or stop supporting them at any time. When new Samsung Smart TV products are launched, there may be a delay before the apps shown become available on those products."

I got this exact tv ue50ku6020 4 days ago and I can confirm the tv hasn't got any voice recognition software, or voice interactive remote included in the box so I'm not sure if Curry's made a mistake under their product specification on their website on the particular TV.

Picture looks good, gaming (although not going too much into input lags) is pretty damn good, but mainly for me Standard definition like Eastenders, Jeremy kyle, First dates all looks good too.

bought at £450 with Quidco tracked at £3.75 or something (LOL)... anyway wasn't expecting a gold as it was sub £500 and I didn't have a big budget but needed a TV asap! finger cross next year 10bit panels sub £700?

Hi there, I noticed that you bought the above tv. I also bought the same tv and have found that the voice control feature isn't on this model. The guy at currys says that for it to have voice control it should have a voice recognition section in the extra settings section of the system settings. It also needs a smart remote with a Mic at the top. Would you mind checking your tv to see whether it's just my tv or all the 6020s. Kind regards

The spec says voice control through voice recognition. Mine does not have this not do I have the smat control which voice control uses. Currys says it should do and Samsung didn't understand what planet they were on. Please can someone who has received this tv tell me whether they have the voice interaction in settings>system>expert settings and the smart control with a Mic at the top? I need to know whether it's a mistake on the website sepc or just my tv.

Here's the 'Which' review of the TV: Wanted to check as I have this and an LG ordered. Looks like I'll go with this one:

Which? verdict:Pretty pictures 71%
LAUNCHED 01 APRIL 2016TESTED 23 NOVEMBER 2016

The Samsung UE50KU6020 offers everything the modern viewer could ask for, including smart TV as well as 4K HDR - you'd be hard pushed to believe it's a mid-range set. But a TV can't be judged on its specs alone. Read the full review to see if the Samsung UE50KU6020 impressed in our tests.

PROS Decent picture quality, 4K, smart TV
CONS No Freeview Play, only one remote

A combination of decent sound and picture quality, as well as ease of use, sees this 6-series Samsung nudge into Best Buy territory. It's an impressive set, with a touch of quality that many others in this price range cannot rival.

What is it?
This 50-inch non-curved TV hails from Samsung's popular 6 series. It may not be as premium as the pricey 7, 8 and 9 series, but still has 4K, the ultra-high definition that has four times the pixels of Full HD. You'll get HDR (High Dynamic Range), too - the latest 'must-have' TV tech. It's said to give darker blacks and brighter whites, with more subtlety of tones in between for an even better picture. But 4K HDR content remains sparse, limited to a few shows on Netflix and Amazon, and a dozen or so UHD Blu-rays that must be played on a compatible Blu-ray player.
You can pick up Freeview HD - which you can pause and record using the built-in PVR functionality (when you plug in a USB hard drive) - but not Freesat. You'll also have smart TV, running Samsung's Tizen operating system, which gives you access to catch-up apps and streaming services (note, some are subscription based). The built-in wi-fi means you won't have to buy a dongle - it's just a matter of connecting to your home wi-fi network.
There's no 3D. But with uptake of this once much-lauded feature so low, it won't be missed by many.

What's the picture quality like?
You can see the added value of all those extra pixels compared with, say, the non-4K 5-series Samsung TVs - it's absolutely razor sharp. You can expect similarly clear pictures for both standard definition and HD TV. The colour contrast is best at these lower resolutions. Although still very good for 4K, it can be a little too cold, particularly in lighter scenes.

If we're being really picky, there could be more detail in some of the darker, shadowy parts of the picture to make it really pop. Even with HDR content, the TV isn't able to pick out all the detail. There's also a little bit of fuzziness in darker areas with both standard definition and HD content, but 4K doesn't have this problem.
It handles motion particularly well. Whether it's fast-paced sports or a sweeping landscape shot, there isn't any blurring or smearing of the picture. It remains smooth and clean. The viewing angle is good enough. It's not the widest we've seen, but those on the edge of a large group shouldn't be straining to see the on-screen action.

What about the sound?
It's decent. There's a good balance between the high and low notes, which means not only is the sound nice and clear, but you'll also notice some richness to soundtracks. When pushed to hit the very deep bass, it can't quite manage to go so low. But, importantly, there's no distortion - so this slight pitfall doesn't come at the cost of clarity, leaving a sound that's still pleasant.

With that in mind, if you're a film buff, the bass-heavy, brooding scores may benefit from a sound bar or home cinema system. You can hook these up either via the HDMI ARC connection or digital audio output. You can also use the Bluetooth connectivity for compatible wireless speakers.

Is there anything I should look out for?
It's an easy TV to use. It starts up quickly but is a little sluggish to switch between channels. You just get one remote - the standard traditional version - missing out on the smart remote that comes with Samsung's higher-end sets. It's a little on the small side and the main keys are a little bit close together.

The electronic programme guide (EPG) has a good layout, with well-presented information on what's available to watch across a timeline format. It's a simple system to use, but with LG and Panasonic (Freeview Play), and Sony (YouView) adopting EPGs with built-in catch-up TV, Samsung is starting to look a bit behind the times on that score.

Is there anything else I should know?
As one of Samsung's smart TVs, it runs the Tizen operating system, which can be unlocked by connecting it to the internet. You use the launcher bar to jump in and out of live TV, streaming services and catch-up apps. Using the bar to access appssuch as Netflix is nice and simple and, overall, the smart menu system is a breeze to get around.
Without a smart remote, it's a little harder to navigate but, generally, it's a fairly intuitive system.

You get three HDMI ports on the TV, one less than you'll generally find on more premium sets. Although there's no Scart socket for hooking up an older device, such as a video recorder, you get two USB ports - one of which you may wish to use for a hard drive for storing shows recorded from the PVR feature.
The PVR is well designed and useful, enabling you to pause and record live TV for the cost of a USB storage device. It's easy to set recordings via the EPG, but the record button is a bit tricky to find on the remote at first. It's simple to find and play back recordings in the smart menu, though.

Should I buy it?
Absolutely. If you're after a set that isn't too expensive but has the latest TV technology, this is the one to go for.

Yeah it is great for gaming and blu rays, netflix etc.

So have you not noticed any HDCP 2.2 markings anywhere on your sammy?

Yeah I guess. I was always of the opinion that people that go out and get 65/75" TV's are stupid people, but after seeing some incredible TV's like the LG OLED's I can see why. I guess I'll go for this samsung, as I only really want to play PS4 and the odd Netflix 4K..
phantomknife
24 Nov 16 #229
To be fair for the price, I'm pleasantly surprised with this TV.
Gaming is a dream and normal blu rays are are indeed upscaled nicely.
Haven't had a chance to try true 4k content as of yet
phantomknife
24 Nov 16 #228
Those TV's are SUHD and feature a 10 bit panel I would assume. They are also at least £1,000 more expensive lol
phantomknife
24 Nov 16 #227
Yeah basically. It's a form of copy protection and if the TV isn't HDCP 2.2 compliant, moving forward no modern UHD sources be it netflix or blu ray will work. The TV would just down scale to 1080p.
The ports normally say HDPC 2.2 on them

Thanks. I’ve not seen the advert. The Smart Remote Control sounds like a nifty feature, it'd be a shame if this TV didn't have it.

Not sure whether it does the cursor thing. All I know is Samsung seems to call it either a "Smart Remote" or a "Smart Control" – it’s basically just a universal remote control, that automatically recognises which devices you have plugged in or on the wifi network, and intelligently sends commands to the right device based on which one you’re currently "viewing" as a video source.

It looks like this – http://www.samsung.com/us/experience/9series-tv/dist/assets/img/mod11/desktop/mod11.jpg – most of Samsung’s 2016 TVs come with it, but I'm guessing this one doesn’t?

Thanks for posting the voucher code. I had previously purchased the TV on Monday and received it on Tuesday. I have just called Currys mentioning the £30 voucher code and initially the lady said she couldn't do anything and that I would have to return the first TV and then re-order which I said was fine. She then asked me to hold and returned to say she would honour the £30 back to my original card so the price would be £419. I would recommend anyone else to do the same as it's worth getting £30 back for one phone call! Thanks again.

You probably don't need new HDMI cables. You absolutely don't need to spend a lot of money on new cables. Even if your current cables don't work for 4K, different cheap HDMI cables will work. Both Amazon and Monoprice (and others) offer inexpensive HDMI cables that are rated to work with 4K

Yes I'm pleased with it, loud without distortion, soon as I plugged it in it was all up and running, I'm glad the sub ain't as big as they used to be. This fits nicely behind my settee with it pushed back to the wall. Just make sure you use the correct power pack with sub / soundbar. If you ain't one for reading manuals you won't see the sub uses the 24v and the sub 19v.
Seemed very basey with my phone connected via Bluetooth.
Currys tried to sell me a "even better" optical cable for £30..... their is nothing wrong with the one in the box.
They also want to sell you the 4K hdmi cables to...

<3<3<3 we picked up one of theses tonight. I was a bit weary after reading the comments on here, I thought the picture would be juddering and it would be slow to turn over etc but no. Out the box standard set up is a bit naff, had a play about with the colour and contrast (because everyone looked like they had a fake bake) upped the sharpness a fair bit and it's a lovely picture! Its like the people on the telly are in the room with me now haha. Adjusted the sound from standard to movie as it was a bit tinny soundind and now it's not bad for such a slim tv. I brought the Samsung soundbar with wireless sub that's also on offer in currys for £129 and it work great together. I'm not a gamer but I love my movies and soaps and this tv is more than capable for my needs. If you conect a USB memory stick you can record freeview which will be handy if I have a clash on sky.
Stand measures 84cm

Anyone who bought this having any issues with it? Picked mine up yesterday - TV itself is fantastic in regards to picture, functionality etc. Problem I'm having is that the TV keeps freezing up and rebooting. Have tried all sorts to fix it but no go. Tried to update the firmware but TV reboots before it can finish updating!

Hoping this is just a faulty TV. Taking it back to Curry's tonight, hoping they will exchange for another set.

EDIT: Went back to Curry's and they exchanged it for a new set. No problems with the new one so far, absolutely glorious TV. Fantastic picture, the level of detail is unreal. Smart hub is impressive, great selection of apps. It has all the catch up services and it even has Plex! There is a Game Mode and it's very responsive, I haven't noticed any input lag at all.

There is no Bluetooth connection, nor is there a Satellite connection so if either of these are dealbreakers for you then avoid. It's literally exactly the same spec as the KU6000 so if you're interested in this TV, look at reviews for the 6000 & you'll know what you're getting. Highly recommend at this price, great deal for a Samsung 4K HDR TV.

Went into Currys/PC WORLD today and the rude **** gravitated towards this, and the LG UH620V. Because I dunno much about TV's and their respective pricepoints, I asked him 'So how much is coming off this on Friday?'. He seemed offended and said it was a steal as it is. Which makes sense now after looking at this topic! Currys aren't actually doing a Black Friday, so anyone (including me) who was planning on grabbing a steal Friday morning would be disappointed. May still get this though, via reserve.

My shortlist was/is this TV, the K5600, Panasonic DX600B (great for gaming apparently) and any W7/W8 Sony (also very low input lags from '14/'15).

Anyone actually bought this? Im hesitant about buying a Samsung, had 2 and they've both ****. Like someone else said, the fact this is a Curry's exclusive is worrying, add that to the price / spec and im tempted, but nervous.

You can still watch it, no problem at all. It's a 4K HDR TV and will play 4K HDR content, but you just won't get the full benefit of HDR. But there's a VERY limited amount of HDR content on there anyway. You can still watch it, but someone with a 10-bit fully HDR compliant TV will have a better HDR experience.

8bit or 10bit is important if you want the new xbox s to run hdr, if not 10bit you dont get hdr simple's, but major if you want a xbox s to run in all its glory, 99% of people wont realise this.

It's a solid TV for gaming or general 4K viewing, but the HDR aspect lets it down. It's 8-bit and only 400nits brightness. If you want to watch HDR content in all its glory then you are better off with the KS7000 as a minimum, but otherwise this is a solid choice.

I went to Currys last night to look at this TV. They only had the 40" on display. I had a play with the settings and it's doesn't seem bad at all for the money. It's never going to compete with TVs twice its price but surely that's the point, its a midrange TV. There was nothing else in store at that price point that could compete with it. Even the LG rep admitted that it was very very good value. Yes it's lacking in top end features but for that price you're getting a very good TV.

This again all gets very confusing here, Samsung named their TVs SUHD originally, the s is only there to highlight it being top of the range just like the galaxy s for example.
Lg and Sony I believe didn't want to agree to a certificate systems for their TVs (that'd be too easy for the customer to spot which ones are bad) so instead of agreeing to use the premium UHD logo that you will see on several samsungs, Panasonic's etc in the future, they came up with their own terms, lgs being Super HD. Basically the premium HD with the logos must meet a certain spec, several TVs with this logo go far and above what they must meet. I'm not saying LG and Sony don't meet these specs on their TVs, I'm sure they do on a lot, but they just don't want to make it for the customer to spot.
If you look up a Samsung ks7000 you'll see the coloured symbol in the top right of the tv that I'm talking about

All Samsung ku series are 8bit, if you want 10 bit look at the Ks series. Also there is a premium hd logo that comes standard on there very high spec TVs. Proves it meets all requirements as it has the certificates, ks7000 and on have these logos
marc080
22 Nov 16 #106
8 bit had just over 16 millions shades of colours, 10 but has over 1 billion, that's the difference! So if you want a deeper depth of colours, then get the 10bit, personally I don't see the point in buying 8 bit other than the fact it is far cheaper, so I guess if you can hold out before buying a tv, then do, if not, this seems great for an 8bit
Jams80

So I got the Sony 48 inch from Argos earlier this month that was a really hot deal on here. I haven't opened it as I'm saving it for moving into my flat next month.

It isn't 4k but is full HD and had good reviews and was £349 (also bought a Sony soundbar for half-price as part of this so got the TV and soundbar for £419).

It's just referencing the colour gamut basically, which is superior on the 6400. The PurColour of the 6020 is not as good, but I don't know exactly how that would translate in real world terms if the two sets were side by side. Probably not THAT much difference I suspect.

iz123456789
21 Nov 16 #68
I did a bit of digging and it looks like the 50 inch model "UE50KU6020" only available currently at Currys.

UE40KU6020, UE55KU6020. UE65KU6020 available at John Lewis and some other (not that known) retailers.

Argos only sells KU6000 range and few weeks ago UE50KU6000 was available for £449.10 (that is with code) Links
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-50-uhd-4k-tv-argos-499-00-free-c-c-2523489
http://www.argos.co.uk/product/5396582

My plan was to get John Lewis to price match for UE50KU6020 ... (once approved they give you up to 30 days to purchase the item) I'll just wait and see what actual Black Friday has to offer and maybe wait another week as well for Cyber Monday is it? and if I still don't find a better deal than this I'll just purchase it off John Lewis within my 30 days of price match period.

However, My plan messed up because John Lewis doesn't sell the 50 inch for some reason. (hence probably why Currys putting it on sale? maybe? I don't know but I'm suspicious!)

My worry is that the 55 inch of this model the "UE55KU6020" currently for £649.00 at Currys might go on offer for like £499.99 (which I think its a better value for your money) If your thinking 4k think 55 inch always!

Anyways let me know what you think. I just hate getting done over by companies! At the end of the day its your money and TBH they don't really care as long as they get your money.

I have the Samsung UE49KU6400 49" which is very similar to this spec and it's a cracking TV, but I paid a heck of a lot more for it a month ago, than this deal. Stunning picture clarity and brightness (mine's hooked up to Sky HD). I'd be all over this like a cheap suit if I hadn't already made my purchase. I find that you do have to crank up the sound a bit before you get to a reasonable level, but that's something you just adjust to.

I did say it was a super quick search, will look into it when I sit to actually buy the TV. Thanks for checking that's exactly what I wanted

Lol - I always play a guessing game on which post number I will find the words 8 bit or 10 bit in.
eslick to ukjoel
21 Nov 16 1 #5
to be fair to them though they aren't moaning about it like normally happens, anyone buying at an 8 bit price point wont pay the £500+ extra for a 10 bit that's for sure.

Well, it is a pretty important bit of info for HDR TV that many companies leave out.
