Superb TV and awesome price. Paid 1099 not long ago. Can't fault it. It has absolutely everything future proof so don't wait and grab this gem while still available!

No, the KS8000 is also out here in the UK, but slightly different to the KS7000 in that it has dual tuners. I am waiting for a deal on the KS8000 personally so I can bin my freeview box off when I upgrade my TV. The panel is the same though from that point of view.

If you have more budget, I would get the KS8000, better specs than the 7000 with Supreme UHD Dimming, higher PQI, better speakers...

The KS7000 is the KS8000 in America. The KS8000 in Europe is called the KS9500 in America

Most definitely the Samsung. That particular Sony uses an IPS Panel so contrast is nothing compared to the KS7000 which uses VA. Gaming lag is also much lower on the Samsung if you intend on using it to play games. Build quality on the Sony will be better and viewing angles will also be slightly better.

Just to let people know you can still use the "ALL60" discount code to get £60 off
I used a family members memerbership card to get a further 5% off what brought it all down to £780 plus shipping but for some reasons is showing £736 on the email

I have the KS7500 (Similar but curved panel). Great TV in terms of the display, But...
The Smart side of things is shockingly bad. (Assuming this will be the same on the 7000
Netflix keeps crashing
Youtube, when you do a search, all of the results appear in a pile on top of each other
Plex, Crashes at least once every 3 days and requires a hard reboot of the TV
Main Smart Hub - as you hover over certain icons, e.g. netflix, it should bring up a menu above the main home menu with, currently watching, or reccomendatons - every so often this will just appear with nothing in the menu.
If you're okay with the issues with the Smart apps then this TV is amazing, picture quality is fantastic and as long as it's in game mode, input lag isn't an issue (as of an update a while ago, you can now use HDR whilst in game mode so PS4 Pro compatible games look and play fantastic)
The only negative I have about the picture quality is the viewing angles from above are not great. This may only affect the curved ks7500 but If you have the TV on a stand and you look down at it whilst stood up, it's very washed out and really not great.
Also of note - this TV does not come with a built in Smart Things hub as is described. It requires a USB dongle called 'Smart Things Extend' which doesn't come with the TV. Samsung say it will be available for free to owners of 7, 8 and 9 series 2016 TVs this year but 2016 is running out and still no word on a date it will be available in the UK.

This is a known issue with any VA panel... they need to pretty much viewed head to get the best picture. Much to the side, above or below and it will look washed out. That's just a limitation of the technology and any VA panel will be the same. If viewing angles are a concern, people should check out IPS panels which are far better in this regard, but generally don't have as good contrast and the blacks will be slightly worse.

I wanted to buy this TV but the feet are so far apart if (like me) you do not want to wall mount it. It needs a very wide unit to stand it on (the feet are around 110cm apart). I'm hoping the 8000 with the central stand comes down in price tomorrow - fingers crossed!

It's when viewing a standard definition feed it's a problem with a lot of 4k sets to be honest.

The point is, the KS8000 is NOT the same set in the UK. The KS8000 in the UK has extra dimming zones (as well as other features) for better control of contrast ratio. I've seen this misinformation on here in the past and just wanted to clarify. The UK KS7000 is not the same as the UK KS8000.
