Curved TVs are for manufacturers to get rid of defective panels that have come out of the manufacturing plant curved instead of flat due to machinery errors. They then charge a significant premium for the privilege.

Horizon is always appears to be flat at ANY altitude. Does it mean earth is flat? No, there are plenty theories...flat, concave, hollow, torus, klein, mundane egg universe, etc. All i know that officials are certenly making us iliusion that earth is spining ball, which is possibly now. i know how does it sound, but look into it yourself.

Yeah, it works a lot better than our old flat TV.. we just wall mounted it in the corner aswell.. looks like it's floating now.. plus the cat can't go behind the TV and bite all the wires haha

It's an arc of a circle. If you sit at the centre, in that precise place you will be perpendicular the whole width, and it might look better. Any other location and some parts will be less perpendicular than if you had a flat screen.

How do you explain the Felix Baumgartner footage then, the man who jumped from space, clearly a round spinning ball he falls back to. That wasn't NASA. Also seen on mythbusters...i think, camera attached to a balloon that goes straight up. Can see curvature? I'm into conspiracies, but not that one.

Curved screens are for small roomed houses - of which we have a load in the UK. It is just a marketing gimmick to be able to sell bigger screens to people with small rooms. Lots of people have fallen for it. They will convince themselves that they can see a better image.

With curved TV you get extra depth and the image is more real. But you may loose on the viewing angles. You can notice image difference when you see two TVs side by side playing same clip. I own a 4k curved 3d TV.
