You can use the smart view app on your pc or mobile device to wirelessly cast/mirror you screen to the tv, supposedly. Mine doesn't work. Will probably end up sending it back.

I had this TV delivered today. it's OK not spectacular or anything. for 279 it's average I guess for the bedroom. I have the f6510 downstairs, I find that one better. non 4k thou. tizen menu and options boring. thou the TV is fast from startup and usage point of view.

Smartview from my Samsung S7 edge is fine...
And from my Windows 10 laptop also (although there is a bit of a delay due to wireless connection - I personally think casting the screen to a Chromecast is better)...

Thanks @Toutanc. I tried on two devices. TV is definitely on the same network. I tried splitting the 2.4 and 5 wifi bands on the router and connecting the all devices to the same band. Still not working. I called Samsung, they remotely connected to the tv, but were unable to fix it. They said they'd get back to me, haven't heard from them since. Anyone else having issues? I like the tv, but will probably send it back if I can't get this working.

Smart View PC is just plain not working for me either (it's still in beta I believe), but the phone app is working fine. I'd suggest making sure the phone and TV are on the same network, as I got that wrong the first time.

Thanks @Rossmor, I’m going to go for the UE40KU6020. Just wish I got it for 299. I was waiting to see what other offers were going to be available in the morning and I missed out.

The UE40J6240 at Argos is a standard 1080p HD TVwhile the UE40KU6020 is an Ultra HD 4K TV so it's really up to you as to what you want from the TV. The UE40KU6020 seems better value for money to me.

Good question - I thought it had Bluetooth too
RebTheRebel
29 Nov 16#180
Cheers for that. Appreciated.
I have my PS4 in HDMI 1. In the settings on my PS4, it has automatically turned HDR option to "Automatic" due to it recognising the TV is compatible. Obviously when I had it on my old HDTV, these options were greyed out.
However, on the TV itself, when i go to the HDMI UHD option, only HDMI 1 is possible to turn on. Ports 2 and 3 are greyed out even though I have other equipment connected. So I'd guess it's maybe a firmware issue of the TV, or only port one can be used for the HDR option. Hope that helps a little.
Could you do me a tiny favour please. At the ports section on the back of the TV, where the Ariel would normally connect towards the bottom, does your ports panel it's connected to have some give? I'm sure it's nothing, just checking. Basically if you put an Ariel in the back, you'll feel if the ports panel moves a couple of mil inwards or not. Thanks
busterdan
28 Nov 16#179
Received mine today from Yodel and the box was absolutely fine (that was a relief).
I've not really tweaked the settings but the picture quality is excellent. Playing Netflix UHD is amazing and with HDR turned on the effect is almost 3D like. Dynamic mode is just a bit too bright for my liking and gave me a headache but for most things Standard seems fine.
One annoyance is the remote control.... it's too small and I hate it, the remote I had on my H5500 was much better.
Also I was under the impression that the TV supported Bluetooth speakers?.... in the Sound settings, Expert Settings the Wireless Speaker Manager option is greyed out, I can't seem to find why this is, any idea's please?
Rossmor40
28 Nov 161#178
The answer to your question is basically yes. For some strange reason on Samsung tv's HDR is not enabled by default and to further confuse things Samsung also call it HDMI uhd colour.
Furthermore this HDMI UHD colour setting only seems to work on HDMI 1. This causes an issue with the PS Pro which means if you connect the Pro to HDMI 2 or 3 it says HDR is not supported but the 4K resolution is. I am not sure if this a bug in the Pro's firmware or a deficiency of the TV.
What HDMI port do you have your PS4 connected to? If it is port 2 or 3 can you go and look in the ps4's video output information and tell me if it is saying HDR is supported. Many thanks.

Rossmor40
28 Nov 16#175
It's in settings--->picture---->expert settings----> HDMI UHD colour(set on to whichever source port you need HDR on I.e. HDMI 1) You have to also set your special viewing mode to either HDR+ or game mode for this to work.
Coffee100
28 Nov 16#174
I got mine yesterday. I didn't know I had to turn on hdr upscaling. I can't find that button tho
RebTheRebel
28 Nov 16#173
Are you just going into Special settings and switching it to HDR? I've done that but find the colours a little more washed out. I wonder why HDR upscaling isn't turned on by default!
Regardless, great TV for the cost. The PS4, with Game mode on and the brightness down just a little by 5 notches (default is too bright for me) is very impressive.

28 Nov 16#172
I got my tv delivered today by yodel. Not smashed up at all and one slight dent in the box but had to wait in all day as it didn't come till 4.30pm. I have set the tv up but not properly calibrated it yet but HDR+ plus mode makes a big difference with a virgin media Tivo box input anyway. Will try the PS4 Pro on it later.

I ended up buying for 349 at JL - wouldn't price match in store (got no where on the phone), but of course still have the 28days to find it at that price again and they will match it. Advantage was the 5 year warranty and the fact that they had boxes and boxes of them on the shop floor so could take it home that day. Set it up at my mother-in-laws and now she's happy that she can finally read the info on 'The Missing'!

27 Nov 161#169
Finally set mine up today. It's way exceeded my expectations. The picture is stunning as you'd hope, but the speakers are not to be sniffed at. I don't think I've heard better from a TV of this size at 3 times the cost. Bravo on that one Samsung. Gaming on PS4 (standard) in Game mode gives a massive improvement over a standard HDTV.
One thing to those that have got one. Where you plug in the TV Ariel, does the panel wobble a little. Mine has a couple of mil movement, doesn't seem bad, just wondering.
Overall, very pleased.
Feel for those whose delivery was wrecked by the muppets that are Yodel. How that company is still used is beyond me.

Yes mine has been dispatched too.... which is great but also means that it will probably be delivered on Monday (when no one is home) :disappointed:
I thought I'd try my local Richer Sounds to see if they had any more left and if they would restrospectively price match. By luck I spoke to the manager who I've always found to be excellent and if I could I'd buy from Richer Sounds as their customer service has always been second to none. The manager said they sold out of all the 6020's yesterday afternoon at their sale price of £349 and that Tesco are out of stock now (I assume he meant online rather than in store). He also said the warranty does affect things but he would have "looked at it" for me if they still had stock.... so I'll have to wait...
This 6020 will replace a 2 year old H5500 in the bedroom (that'll go in the dining room!). As a Netflix and Amazon video subscriber I'm really interested to how impressed (or not) I'll be with 4K as I was fairly dismissive when it first came out. We also have a PS4 so that will be try as well as Playstation Now.

Read post 98 and 128 on this thread and I also saw them in store at Tesco Edinburgh. I got the same email back. They will purposely wait till something is out of stock before replying and on Black Friday that was near a certainty for this tv. Probably all people from this site looking for them to price match the Tesco deal. TBH they have so many potential outs with their price match policy sometimes it's just best to go for the likes of this Tesco deal when it's on offer. A five year guarantee would have been nice but since it's not going to be the main tv in the house I am not too bothered.

I have still managed to get it price matched, I called customer service. Told them I wanted to order a TV and want it price matched. CS said you'll have to place order online and then submit the form or submit the form first, I said I wanted to order it over the phone. He said OK placed order and he said I've put a note on the system that you are to be refunded, I asked him how do you know how much I need to be refunded as he didnt check anything. Nice lady on the phone checked the price on Tesco website (as on the price page it does not say out of stock!) and supervisor agreed the price match. Ordered in JL. 5yrs warranty is worth extra £50 Plus u can buy accidental damage cover for 5yrs with another £25. With my 2 yrs old son, I won't be surprised if he decides to take it on the new TV:)

Bought one finally! Thanks for sharing. I'd ordered one reserve and collect from currys today for £349 with the thought that if they came down in price I could just not go and get it but safe in the mind that I've still got one for £349. Happy to save £50 off that

Is it £330 on AO?

well ordered off JL and emailed them for a £50 refund, if they say do one I'll miss the £50 but at least I won't have enough money to get that 3L bottle of Jack Daniels from Sainsburys thus murdering any remaining brain cells

My current Samsung tv went wrong after 13months. Just as well I had the 5 year guarantee from JL as the whole panel had to be replaced. I don't think JL will pricematch anyway due to the 5 year warranty they have.

Other than that being fraud you'd also better check the terms to see how age affects replacement value, insurance policies are riddled with exclusions

Depends how much you want the TV... I don't think they will match because of the warranty.... that's the whole reason some of these retailers provide the warranties.... it's hard to quantify their value and therefore muddy's the water when it comes to price matching.

Samsung's standard warranty is 12 months "In home", to be honest the chances of it going wrong after that time except for general age is very low indeed. Plus remember most long length insurance policies will make an adjustment for age, so you could find yourself claiming in year 3 and the TV being beyond economical repair, you'd be lucky to get the equivalent of £50 from the policy to buy a new one. If it's a freebie then great but I wouldn't pay over the odds because of the warranty.

Yes I agree, I once managed to get them to price match some perfume..... and what a hassle that was... supposedly heralded as being the best for customer service, not in my experience. My local Richer Sounds however are excellent it's a shame they wont price match due to the warranty issue.
Also as you mention Tesco delivery is free of charge.

Just pit a request in for price match on JL... they should automatically drop the price online... as they do say they never over charge ... due to the price match... I did buy it earlier from Co op online... but will cancel the order is JL match... 5 year warranty is worth much more than 15 quid in nectar points

Nice one, thanks for posting.... missed the COOP/AO deal earlier, but I'm happy to buy from Tesco... had a small number of vouchers to use and will obviously get more points. In the meantime if other retailers sell it cheaper I'll see if Tesco will match as it takes a few days for delivery anyway. Delivery is free by the way. This appears to have the standard 1 (or 2 year) warranty... most TV's are very very reliable these days so arguably paying £50 or so for a warranty for something costing £300 isn't worth it.
I have a feeling AO will also be selling this at the same price and that may be a more attractive offer for new customers who may get a £20 discount as well.

ha ha ha I too work for tesco. the only better TV I'm looking at is at curry's. it's the Samsung eu32k5600. it's only 32" but it has a very low input lag and gets very good reviews regarding gaming.

Soooo tempted to get this but still not 100% sure whether I want jump the gun and get a 4K TV just yet. I am one of the unfortunate people that work at Tesco so this would be about £270 which seems like an awesome deal for a 4K TV by Samsung. Anyone know how good this would be with the consoles? (4K and HRD).

And from my Windows 10 laptop also (although there is a bit of a delay due to wireless connection - I personally think casting the screen to a Chromecast is better)...
Sorry - what is smart view? I don't have android phone, but have laptop
Which one should I go for, the UE40KU6020 (£339 @ eBuyer) or EU40J6240 (£359 @ Argos)?
Thanks
Furthermore this HDMI UHD colour setting only seems to work on HDMI 1. This causes an issue with the PS Pro which means if you connect the Pro to HDMI 2 or 3 it says HDR is not supported but the 4K resolution is. I am not sure if this a bug in the Pro's firmware or a deficiency of the TV.
What HDMI port do you have your PS4 connected to? If it is port 2 or 3 can you go and look in the ps4's video output information and tell me if it is saying HDR is supported. Many thanks.
Regardless, great TV for the cost. The PS4, with Game mode on and the brightness down just a little by 5 notches (default is too bright for me) is very impressive.
Can't you get swapped instore?
27/11/16 00:00 Your parcel will be with us soon (Yodel)
(Today is the 26th!)
We do have Yodel fairly close by so at least collection wont be too much of an issue
Looks like they have now almost price matched JL!!
I'll let you know how it goes.
