you've got one have you? a Lot of folk are buying this (me included) for gaming/kids bedroom tv for console use, so yeah, let's spend £700+ to ensure we get HDR blah blah.
Like the age old "must be 1080p" rubbish, ask the average TV viewer if they can tell the difference between 720p sky and 1080p...
I can imagine this "must have HDR" argument is about as important to the average TV buyer as that.

hi everyone, so finally got my TV and just opened it an hour ago. I'm wanting to sell it as I am finding it hard to adjust to a smaller TV. I originally had a 46 inch but thought of downgrading as I felt the distance we view the TV from wasnt right but turns out the 40 inch seems small. I bought it from John Lewis so it comes with 5 years garantee. I'm not sure if I can return it back to them as I've assembled it already, will call and find out but if anyone here wants it, TV needs to be picked up from London. I might be able to deliver locally for an extra charge. TV is for £299

Na not got one, but read there was motion blur and a lot of "greying" when viewed at slight angles.
So considering I am not going to get a ps4 Scorpio or the new xbox I think I would rather invest in a 1080p that shows a much better picture and colours than just getting 4k for the sake of it.
If it is this low priced there must be something bad about it. Seems too good to be true.

I would have done but their on line chat wasn't working (from a PC and a Tablet so likely their end) and by the time I got through on the phone they refused to honour the price match as Co-Op had gone out of stock 3 minutes earlier.

Of course. So for me, I picked up an Xbox One in October as I want to play a few exclusives. Plus you get 4K Netflix etc on it too. I need a new TV anyways, so you can either buy a 4K panel like this for £300, or get a normal 1080 screen for say £200 bucks. Don't understand why so many people want 4k anyway. Most popular TV channels are 720p and the rest are still 480i - gonna look horrendous upscaled to 4k. Unless all you do is watch 4k Blurays or 4k gaming, what's the point? 1080p will give you better overall viewing quality.

I have just bought the 50" from Currys at £449. I have to say it's a very good TV for the money. Yes it's not a 10bit panel but you need to double your spend to get one. 4k is good and the upscaling is far better than I was expecting. Sound quality is also far better than I had hoped. I use an AV receiver so it was not important but for the short space of time that I tried it I can't fault it. At this price point I don't think there are many 4k panels out there that can compete in the 40" size range.

It doesn't play HDR content properly like a 10-bit panel, it merely processes the signal to convert it to 8-bit which is not as good. 10-bit panels cost at least £550 so this is a very good price nonetheless. I have the 40KU6000 which I think is the same but with a different stand and 4K is a big improvement, couldn't justify the cost of HDR10 yet.

I do *need* a new TV. My current one is a hand me down plasma from c. 2005 from a friend. no HD, and the batteries keep falling out of the remote. I can't play PlayStation, but hey, that's fine.
Remember - if you don't need it, its not a bargain. you can do this.
Like the age old "must be 1080p" rubbish, ask the average TV viewer if they can tell the difference between 720p sky and 1080p...
I can imagine this "must have HDR" argument is about as important to the average TV buyer as that.

edit: again oos, I think they are releasing stock slowly..
So considering I am not going to get a ps4 Scorpio or the new xbox I think I would rather invest in a 1080p that shows a much better picture and colours than just getting 4k for the sake of it.
If it is this low priced there must be something bad about it. Seems too good to be true.
Not very happy and they won't be getting any business from me.
Should I get a nice spec Samsung 5100?

Why is the JVC deal at Currys @ £269 not getting as much 'heat' as this deal? Similar TV £40 cheaper?

I spoke to Phil Schofield and he said I could quote his extension number 1421 if the sales team queried the price match

11:48:33 a.m.I'm very sorry to say we're unable to price match with eBay
Ok it did say 29.99 that you HUKD!
The processor in this TV however is likely capable of 32bit processing and is much better than the processor in the SNES
I am disappoint. Lol.
Do You know, if I ca use this tv instead of pc monitor?

...might even be able to get it for £289.99...

Also just realised I have last year's model of this TV with a different stand but I expect they are essentially the same.
genuine interest
Edit. Never mind, see above!
is this a good price ?

I have a Philips 6400 series 4K TV (40PUT6400) which has Android (only advantage over Samsung) on it but I think this will defo have a better picture quality?
