so this probably wont appeal to many but you rarely find 4k Blu-ray players cheaper. coop dropped the price to 199.99 but their also offering £15 off all purchases over £200.. so add a cheap pair of Sony headphones or wall bracket for under £15 to effectively take the total to above £200 and get £15 off the total price. you can also save £30 on a £300 purchase (CCW30) if your tempted by something else a bit more expensive.
you can also get 2.2% TCB

Currently xbox s doesnt support the latest audio codecs but supposedly incoming next year
I have both but actually not done a comparison yet, i do have 2 copies of the martian at min so wouldnt be difficult

No idea. The S is getting an audio update in spring, not sure if it includes atmos though.
Just typed long message but didnt post, firmware updated since what hi fi review, great image and sound, boots really quick, no display and small remote but always watch in dark and dont mess once pressed play
I got mine john lewis, i think they added stickers to outside of boxes and unsealed to add discs, came with new seal and sticker saying opened to insert discs
