and RX 480 graphic card being AMD all should be good.

I just got a very similar spec monitor and for desktop stuff its amazing, but gaming, unless you like playing in a postage stamp window your gunna need a 1080 or better.

Wonderful picture quality for a great price Bought for my gaming PC - as a high end build I was at the end of my budget but managed to gather a bit more for this and haven't been disappointed.
The picture has all the clarity you'd expect from a UHS monitor- bright, vivid colour displays really bring my favourite games to life.

The 'Pro" is 4K-upscaled experiences this is a 4K monitor
Just make sure you're connecting it via HDMI2, as HDMI1 will not support 4K.

not sure what you are trying to say here? Im pretty sure with a suitable GPU gaming does look great in full screen. Even if you play 1080p res on it it will look crisp but it will be in a window 1/4th of the screen. If you intend to play games on a 4K screen in native res you have to invest in a decent GPU, you will probably be able to get away with a mid range GPU with settings turned down, but whats the point of 4k only to turn down the quality in games.

Urm. No that's not generally how it works. Most displays have a scaler in them that can take for instance a 1920x1080 source and upscale it to 3840x2160. Heck even if they didn't, computers tend to be fine creating a small image and stretching it over a large area (doing the scaling on the PC itself, not the monitor). Have a go, try changing your display settings so your PC is outputting an image of a lower resolution than your monitor's native one.
This is incidentally why with a fresh windows installation and no drivers you get that "bleugh" moment where your big monitor is displaying in fullscreen an 800x600 image that windows thinks is a safe default resolution.

But you said gaming at 1080 on this monitor would use 25% of the screen therefore 75% of the screen would be wasted space.
There is no way folks would be giving this monitor a 5 star gaming review based on what you stated.

But the point is you don't end up with wasted space, or playing in a tiny section of the screen that's actually displaying your content. The content is stretched to fill the entire screen.
Let's take an older example. DVDs are 720x480. I'm willing to bet you've played a DVD on a computer with 1080p display (or at least higher than 720x480). Was it an absolutely miserable experience that used a tiny chunk of your display? Or was the small source image stretched so that it used the entire display? Hint, it's the second one. Also the first solution is stupid.

I have this monitor for my ps4 pro and it works great. However, bear in mind that it doesn't support HDCP 2.2, which means you cannot get Netflix to run in full 4k mode, very annoying. Also bear in mind it has no speakers, and that you'll need to use HDMI port 2 to get full 4k/60hz mode. Hope that helps.

The monitor requires external speakers.
I think a lot of monitors dont have built in speakers.
As mentioned previously PS4 Pro users need to make sure they are connecting it via HDMI2, as HDMI1 will not support 4K.

I've got a ps4 pro and I wanted a 4k monitor to take advantage of what the pro can do. do monitors like this currently not have hdr? ive seen how impressive it can be and didnt want to rush to purchase this.

The larger screen is £6.80 more from amazon verses Bora Computers at £340.92
£6.80 well spent IMHO if the 28" is the one you want.

Of course it would, why wouldnt it?, XB1S uses HDMI and the Monitor uses HDMI, you won't get the benefit of HDR though since this is not a HDR monitor

Hot. I bought the 28" direct from Samsung shop last month - but it went back as there was a cluster of dead pixels in the lower left hand side of the screen.
For this reason (risk) I won't order from the Bora seller. I didn't realise Amazon had a prime option (it doesn't appear when looking at the Bora one).
HDR monitors are future proofed but you may have to wait a while AND spend a LOT more.
For most folk this monitor is outstanding value for money.

have been comparing these two on the Samsung website, looks like the 24 is pls, 4ms gtg, 16.7 million colours and quite low brightness. the 28 is tn, however 1ms gtg, 1 billion colours but at the cost of lesser off angle viewing that the pls screen gives. It's a real tough call ! Both monitors seem to be reviewed closely at 4k.com

I'd be interested in knowing how much the extra colour matters in these examples. I'm really tempted to pay the extra simply because 4k on a 28inch will imo allow you to appreciate it more plus the extra colour/brightness that the bigger screen has to offer. I am going to wait until Friday either way, not long now !

One of the issues I have with the Samsung 4K monitor is the lack of a USB hub and multiple viewing angles. I'm comparing this to the similarly priced Dell P2415Q that can be rotated to portrait mode for reading long documents/eBooks/PDFs of textbooks. The Dell monitor is also said have a better build quality and the USB hub.
You can find reviews of people having dead-on-arrival/dead-pixel issues with both so that evens them out. Both also lack HDCP 2.2 which is apparently a requirement for watching 4K content via Amazon Prime/Netflix.
I'm a university student so ideally want something that it multipurpose for both work and gaming so that sort of boils down to the whole TN vs IPS debate again. Any thoughts anyone?

Any dead pixels the monitor gets returned there is a pixel checker - 4 or 5 coloured screens - I'll be testing my monitor recommend everyone does this....

I was incredibly tempted by the 24", but I set my heart on the 28" as I play console games and have convinced myself (probably incorrectly) that the 10bit/1billion colours was worth it. doubt there is any hope of the 28" coming down on Friday as it would be cheaper than 24", but who knows lol.
Can my PC handle this above 60fps at medium settings with an i7 4790 non k, Fury X and 16gb DDR3?
Can't buy it without knowing if I can take full use of it
