This isn't cheap at all... Why would you pay £70 upfront and £24/month when it's cheaper buying it outright and getting a sim-only deal? o.0

£24 a month at Carphone Warehouse with £59.99 upfront and you get an unlocked phone

Hi Jono,

Well some good news for a change then some bad , I have managed login now to my Vodafone account .

Offer does not appear correct as no mention of 6gb data so may need to call and have this amended .

Not sure if looking in correct place but went under upgrades and bundles then selected bundle detils and showing the following -

Line rental - £24.00
Unlimited UK minutes
Unlimited texts
1GB data
500MB inclusive roaming data
Inclusive roaming calls texts and picture messages
750MB Wi-fi

Hi Jono,

sorry for late reply, great news you have your s7

I was glad you commented on this as yesterday I also received this from Vodafone - This is to let you know that we’ve blocked content unsuitable for under 18s on the number ***************. This means you won't be able to access content such as:

Erotica
Violence & Discrimination
Drugs & Crime

Still no phone for me and showing stage 2 but just about to try login to my account and hope for the best without getting those crazy error messages.

Ha, well what do you know it was home waiting for me when I got home. I didn't get any notification of delivery or tracking numbers but they must have sent it DPD Saturday delivery!

I literally just got the phone and a sim card loose in a posting bag and that was it.
jono8
3 Dec 16 #156
Just to let you know, last night i got an email re erotica/violence etc being turned off, with my new number listed. I was then able to log in to my account and i now have a number as well.

Also my bundle in my account is correct. It reads:

Line rental - £24.00
Unlimited UK minutes
Unlimited texts
1GB data
5GB additional data
500MB inclusive roaming data
Inclusive roaming calls texts and picture messages
Discount: 20% off bundle
750MB Wi-fi

I assume this means the handset will be on its way to me now or very soon. Tracking still says stage 2 but they have set up my number and account so it must have all gone through ok.

Can't complain as it did say 1-2 weeks delivery when ordering and i ordered Sunday evening. The email also said that "my account" will not be available until my device has been delivered so i take this to mean it is on its way.

In fact i am glad they didnt set it up straight away otherwise i would have been charged a week with no phone to use.

Well I hope mine turns up early next week as the Vodafone site now says if you add the Galaxy S7 to your basket. "Delivery to your billing address in 1 - 2 working days "

Mine said 1GB + 5GB additional data, but then changed yesterday. I had an email with some new T's & C's which put me on a £32 tariff but was then discounted down to my expected rate. This just shows as a full 6GB data instead of the previous standard plus add on.

Was fearing the worst given all the negative comments here and elsewhere but although the whole process moved slowly I eventually got the phone (stunning phone BTW) got my account signed up and was surprised to see the correct package and price. Does say 1GB in the main heading but they have +5GB in the extras.

Don't worry about porting number. You have plenty of time to do this and its easiest done once you have access to your account online. You will see the section in your account and its as easy as ABC when there

Thanks Jono much appreciated for this link, showing option 2 also .

Will not hassle you anymore or will try not

Does anyone know when I can apply the VEA 15% ? . Do I need to wait until I have an actual account setup ?

Also I need to transfer my old number from O2 which I know I need to obtain a pac code but again not sure if I need to wait until my account is live and phone is dispatched before I can .

Thanks in advance for any advice

i got a dozen emails from vodafone about new lines and erotica etc etc and everytime i checked the tracking it was on number 2.
just to let you guys know incase you havent received your phones yet and are going crazy
i got mine yesterday and my tracking is still showing at number 2
the data in the account shows as 1gb per month and bonus 5gb per month total 6gb
£19.20 per month is a cracking price and if the £75 topcashback pays out it will be an added bonus

]Hi Jono,
Any luck with getting logged into your account as yet ?
I still have no account setup, had various emails regarding my direct debit has now been setup and that I have requested another line to my account which I have not.
I was with Vodafone 2 years ago and left due to various mistakes and shocking customer service so I think they have possibly sent out these emails because I used the same email address and maybe my account was not closed properly the last time.
I am hoping most of these duplicate emails are system generated and things go smooth
No not yet. Had no contact or emails since order day. Tracking still at stage 2. Direct debit showed up in my bank account though yesterday so presume they are starting to set things up.
Would rather they didn't start things till the phone was in stock and sent though so I'm happy to wait. It did say 1-2 weeks delivery when I ordered so not expecting anything till next week anyway.
Thanks Jono,

How are you managing to check the tracking details ? I would have thought this would have to be done within the account which we are both not set up for as yet and getting strange messages when trying to login.

Sorry if I am missing something obvious

Spoke to a lovely chap on the phone. He's sorted it all, should show up online shortly. Apparently online chat fold made a mess of my account placing order after order after order. Is anyone's online account showing as having 6GB data on this plan??

Mine showed 1GB, they said they fixed it, now package doesn't show online at all. I've spoken to Live Chat this morning and apparently now they can't give me the 6GB data. I think this handset is going to be sent back and a complaint put into Ofcom.

Seriously Ryan....... chill man

Vodafone is a massive massive company, and just like any big organisations there are all kinds of toss ups, just like Samsung, Nike, BP, Lehman Brother, Northern Rocks you name it mate.

We can not shy away from these institutions because they produce the things we need as consumers but that doesn't mean they will operate on a flawless basis, especially during times like Black Friday weekend.

So while you have encountered a problem before (big deal), it doesn't necessary mean it will happen again, and it doesn't necessary mean it will happen to the rest of us, and even if it does, it is not the end of the world.

Sashittt happens, it's life.

No I am acting the way I did when I left Vodafone and was the reason I left for similar silly mistakes .I am not acting like my first day buying things online as have purchased many things in the last fews days and no issues, I am only expressing my concerns about vodafone and the issues I had previously. ok?

Fingers crossed it will all go ok! It is a cracking deal if it does. Their ineptitude gives me faith that maybe TCB will pay out (as in their systems seem so borked it might slip through) but I won't hold my breath on that because of the code used.

Thanks for replying feel bit better now but just got the major fear factor as they is the way I ended up with Vodafone, they do everything possible to stress you out.

Other 10 emails I received are - This is to let you know we’ve created your account for you.

You should get another email from us soon with a temporary password for My Vodafone that you’ll be able to change after you first log in.

Then
This is just to let you know that we've now registered your email address as ****************. If you didn't ask us to change it, please call us on 191 free from your Vodafone mobile or 03333 040 191 from any other phone. Standard call charges apply.

Seriously if they start the usual nonsense I will be cancelling which will not be easy knowing this company. fingers crossed I am over reacting and nothing to worry about :disappointed:

I so wish I never started this . I was with Vodafone 2 years and cancelled,.

I orederd this phone and have now receievd 12 emails from Vodafone and this being the latest which no doubt means they did not close my account properly the last time

Thanks for requesting an extra phone line - we’re working on this now and we’ll keep you updated with our progress.

If you didn’t want to add an extra line and think you’ve received this email in error, please let us know as soon as you can. You can call us free on 191 from your Vodafone mobile or on 03333 040 191 from any landline or mobile (standard call charges apply).

I am so annoyed that I did not stop myself getting back into dealing with this outfit again

I first saw this ad on Fri and left it with my friends to check it out as I already have unlocked iPhone 6s with rolling contract SIM (I pay about £12 p.m to get 3GB data on Giffgaff)

When you look at this deal closely - it works out this way.
£70 + £24 pm on Vodafone ... apply 15% Employee Discount you get it down to £70+£20.40 p.m.
Works out to be £559.60 over 24 months ...
If you trade-in your brand new S7 ... you could get min £270 from on-line traders (O2 recycle - most reliable) and probably more elsewhere (ebay, friend etc).

Trade-In and your 24-month expenditure works out to be £289.60 ... which is basically £12.07 p.m.
I don't think you will ever get '6Gb+ ultd min/text + EU roaming extras' for £12.07 p.m. !!!

Spoken to Live Chat, they reckon my order was sent by DPD today but no details of this on online tracker. Given tracking number but does not track! sionwhughes
28 Nov 16 #97
The beauty of buying direct from Vodafone is that you get WiFi Calling included, which you can't get from resellers like Carphone Warehouse. If you have Wi-Fi you're sorted, but still no good if you don't!
trakker1
28 Nov 16 #96
I've gone for this deal and got given the 20% off via live chat, they offered 10% at first but I said a friend was offered 20% so they agreed. I was told I could use the code again for a family member but wanted me to go on chat again so they get the credit for the sale.

My only concern is where I work we have poor signal for all networks, I get mostly no signal on my current Vodafone SIM using a iPhone 6, would you say theres a good chance of getting a better signal with the S7? I have been using iMessages but that will stop once I start using the S7 and will need to use Whatsapp instead but wondered if anyone has experiance of the two handsets.

Great deal. Got fed up of waiting for EE retentions so ordered using the 20% off code posted earlier for £19.20 a month + £70 upfront. £75 TCB has tracked as well but I wont hold my breath about that. With my Santander 123 cashback as well and if I get the TCB, the deal will work out as £450 over the two years which is very very good I think.

Part of me wanted to wait for the S8 but lets face it when that comes out you are talking a minimum of £40 a month for 24 months.

Hi thanks for 20% off line rental deal. You definitely have to chat to someone but well worth it. An as for not trusting Samsung are you forgetting the Apple iPods that were blowing up an serverly burnt a child and it wasn't charging at the time either at least Samsung will be more safety causious right now, best time to buy I say
seaniboy
26 Nov 16 #50
Exactly, not had a Samsung since 4 happened, I use my phone most nights and charge when sleeping. No way is a Samsung worth the risk.
DonkeyKonk
26 Nov 16 #49
I am surprised that with the story if the Note 7 that I didn't see mention of when they recalled all those S4 batteries just a few years ago (they bent and warped, etc).
seaniboy
26 Nov 16 1 #48
£646 is what your buildings insurance will cost next renewal & you wont even have a mobile let alone your home!

Would not trust Samsung now...shoddy beyond belief product testing.

Seems ironic from what I said above but heat given anyway, great for those who have some faith in Samsung left.

No idea how a similar thread except its the S7 edge for the same monthly cost but 110 upfront is freezing.

hi, same here, got 20% off on chat. Ordered the P9 & watch as well as the S7. Happy Black Friday!

25 Nov 16 #45
Just spoken to some nice folk on the online chat. Gave me 20% off code. Be aware of using the code without chatting to them first, as they said they need to record order numbers for orders they've given the discount code out to.

20% discount code is WC20QZAS2127, not sure if will work for others , but worth a try. Good luck!

Employee Discount? All Retail staff had their discounts taken away on Handsets unless you referring to VEA 15%? - £20.40?
one2one24
25 Nov 16 1 #42
also got this deal going though web chat, originally I was asking about NHS discount which I was told can be applied and would be up to 15% off but told if I purchased via them now they will offer 20% discount by applying code WC20QZAS2127 which needs to be applied on check out after you have selected the black Friday bundle.

they wouldn't budge on £70 up front cost
Oatsy1984
25 Nov 16 #41
I have just got this from Vodafone for £40 upfront and £19.80 a month plus a free samsung bluetooth speaker rrp £90.
As for them being crap on customer care i agree 100%, after 10 years with them just request the retention team and they get it done for you without fail.

How did this deal get so hot?
jammygibb5
25 Nov 16 #39
I thought this would be exempt from the employee discount. I might try that. I'm currently on a simo which ends in 77 days and I'm not sure they'll let me cancel it even though is with Vodafone.

25 Nov 16 #38

Just provide id/payroll number to prove you work for them and they will apply it to the account, I think you can only do it within 30 days of a new contract or upgrade

Just ordered S7 over the phone... upgrade department reduced monthly £24 with 10% discount to £21.60... also reduced upfront cost to £40. Total cost. 558.

How the **** is this hot!? I posted this back when the phone came out and it went cold:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-gold-unlimited-txts-mins-12gb-free-handset-12mths-60-auto-2462195

Double the data, no upfront cost, better "edge" version, only 12mths contract and only £68 more expensive overall!

I'm on a £12 a month deal (£288 over 24 months), say i could get a phone for £450-£500 - TOTAL = £738-£788

Based on those calculations, i would say this offer through Voda is a decent deal!

WC10MMDR2127 i was given this code on live chat to get 10% off on line rental which goes down to £21.60, i asked that i am getting additional line so he provided me this code, If you applying quidco or topcashback they can get declined.. So worth a punt .
Alarae to secretmsg

I wasn't sure if NHS discount would work on this deal but will enquire when I pick up the phone.
jammygibb5
25 Nov 16 #24
Signed into my account and found I am applicable for 10% off, so even with the £70 upfront cost, it works out cheaper than the mobiles.co.uk deal.

When you go to upgrade it shows the full price tariff but if you click through to the basket the price reduces to the black friday deal with discount.

mobiles.co.uk seems to be the best deal and you can get a bit of quidco aswell, just bear in mind though that vodafone are one of the worst rated networks for customer service.......have been for a few years, ultimately your choice but just so long as you can make an informed decision

I was able to use my employer benefit through xexec to get this for £70 upfront and £20.40/month (15% off) making a total contract cost of £559.60. Definitely the cheapest around and I can pick up the phone in-store at 0930 this morning. Chuffed to bits!

25 Nov 16 #2
If you're a vodafone customer already, log in to your account and check your offers, I have one for 10% off an extra phone plan which makes this deal £21.60 a month. Vodafone online chat stated the employee advantage scheme will not apply to this deal as it is already discounted.
