Use code WASHING40 for £40 off

Great price for an ecobubble machine with delivery and with 5 years warranty. Just looking at their Pre Black Friday offers and saw it mentioned a further discount. Not bad at all considering it doesn't often go much less than £349.

Machine Info
Delivering fantastic results with every wash, this Samsung washing machine has an 8kg drum - ideal for a medium sized household. EcoBubble technology mixes water with your detergent before it enters the drum; this creates a layer of cleansing bubbles that sink into fabrics 40 times faster than detergent alone, so you get spotless results even at lower temperatures. The Stain Away option can be added to most cycles - boosting the power of your detergent and lifting away tough marks with ease. A speedy 15 minute quick wash is ideal for small mid-week loads too.

Warranty Registration Required with Samsung within 90 days of purchase

Bought a 1600 spin 8kg one few months ago, absolutely love it, uses a tiny fraction of washing stuff to get things clean, the programmes are all great.

If you put a long wash on say cotton it checks how much you have in there & recalculates the time often knocking over an hour off the time unless the machine is full.

The hour wash is extremely efficient & it's the one we use the most, we use 50% of the powder we used on our old machine. The bubble & extra dirty settings work really well too.

The 1600rpm spin on our one is dead silent o couldn't believe it at first how quiet it was.

You have to register for the warranty don't forget to do that & keep the print put safe in case you need to claim.

It even plays pleasing jingles when it finishes

I fit these for a living on a regular basis. The water pressure will have an effect on the noise when filling up. Also the majority of machines will give some noise when spinning at 1000rpm+. If you don't want to hear your machine spinning then spend a ridiculous amount of money on a quality German built machine or take it to the laundrette. In my opinion these machines have a far better build quality than it's competitors like Bosch, Hoover, Hotpoint etc... and the 5 year parts and labour warranty just sweetens the deal.
I liked these so much I bought one myself.

JUST A NOTE TO MAKE SURE YOU PHONE THE SAMSUNG NUMBER TO ACTIVATE THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY AS OURS CAME WITH NO PAPERWORK MENTIONING IT AND ALSO NOTHING ONLINE WHEN WE WENT TO REGISTER. I JUST PHONED UP THE WARRANTY PHONE NUMBER ON THE PAPERWORK AND THEY DID IT IN 5 MINS AND EMAILED ME THE CONFIRMATION.

We went for the 9kg version and love it apart from a silly design fault that anything spilt on the front door goes in between the plastic rings on the front door and looks terrible especially on the white (as we found when we dropped some curry sauce down it in the first week, but luckily was able to flush it out with water with no staining). Am going to give it another flush with water as some other sauce has gone inside it and use clear silicone sealant to close the gap.

Definitely a good deal, all the Samsung ones come up well on the Which reports too. We bought the add wash one just under a month ago but was looking at this one before it. Only reason we changed was because John Lewis reduced the new one by 200 quid. love the little tune when it switches on and finishes it cycle too. online form for the Warranty was easy

I bought this back in May 2014 for £379, also with five year warranty.

The buttons on the front stopped working a couple of months ago and Samsung arranged repair under the warranty - we had no problems getting it sorted.

I don't know about anyone else's opinions but it's the noisiest machine we've ever had. The sound of water rushing in to fill it spreads around the entire house. It might just be because we have very high water pressure - I'm not quite troubled enough by it to investigate properly - but it's definitely noisier than the old machine it replaced.

Good price though

I disagree, there are incidences of these Samsungs failing within the 5 years all over the web. Pay £100 more for a mid range Bosch and it'll last longer for sure.

We went through 2 expensive Bosch machines within 6 years; the engineer advised to buy a cheap machine and dispose of it when it broke. We just left the old washing machine out the front of the house in the evening and it was gone in a few hours (taken by the washing machine fairies  ).

I believe that they were the top loading ones that are normally sold in America (but I maybe wrong)?

Was a bit confusing on some of the news pages as they had a photo of a normal front loading Samsung washing machine and then went on to say the machines effected were top loading ones?
Dragon32
17 Nov 16 #45
When ours went I was tempted by another Bosch as it had been ok for over 15 years with the last 7 years extra washing for twins, but I weighed up the Bosch just having 2 years warranty, the extra money and also the new cheaper Bosch not being so well made as the ones 10+ years ago so went for the Samsung.

At least we know it should be covered for 5 years.

The fridge was a different matter and went for another Meile when ours packed up recently after nearly 20 years.

Terrible reliability with these direct drive LG/Samsung/Panasonic - lucky they come with a generous guarantee by redemption. My mate has had 2 drive units and a control panel replaced under warranty on his. His parents got one too ubder his recommendation and that has been even more unreliable.
Had a Bosch for 14 trouble-free years before it started getting a bit noisy and we replaced it with a whisper quiet Miele. I don't think current Bosch machines are made like they used to be.

Managed to pick up one of these for the MIL just over 3 years ago for £321 after cashback etc. (Posted it here)

Excellent machine, and considering the abuse the MIL puts it through I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one now if we had our own place. In fact if we had the space to store one, I'd buy one right now. Extremely quiet even on he highest spin speed, great choice of settings and very efficient with the auto weighing feature. Cleans clothes impeccably and they come out so dry it takes no time at all for them to dry in the winter inside on the line.

Never had a single problem with the machine, the 5 year warranty on parts and labour was the icing on the cake for reassurance.

After working for Currys for over a year IP can tell you these machines are great but when they break down, heaven help you as customer constantly gave me horror stories of Samsungs horrible customer service then there repair team who are just terrible too.

Its great its a 5 year warranty but your a lot better off with an LG or AEG.

Go fo LG every time Samsungs are made with a lot cheaper parts and have a high break down rate.

12 years ago I would have agreed. Seems Bosch (like so many companies these days) have sacrificed their quality for competitive pricing. As for LG... I couldn't comment on their customer service, but I've seen a lot of faulty machines over recent months so something must be wrong somewhere!

Getting delivered on Tuesday, which is a terrific service from AO.

ordered one on Friday, being delivered this morning. managed to put through £27.50 Quidco so £281.50

Finally decided to retire my trusty Dyson :disappointed: It sucks to order something that I KNOW is worse than my last machine but I can't keep bringing the Dyson back from the dead with hard to source parts. With a broken soap drawer, a display that doesn't work and occasional leaking from the coin trap/pump it's finally time......

It's a good price for a washing machine with good features, it's a 5 year warranty so as long as it lasts that period I'm OK with that. I'll have more money to buy something better next time, AO are brilliant to deal with as I've ordered from them plenty of times.

Anyone that's commented saying they're wondering whether to get a Hotpoint/Indesit...........I have vowed never to buy another Whirlpool group product for as long as I live, I have a Hotpoint dryer that was affected by the safety issue thus a huge potential of catching fire and the way in which they've handled the whole situation is shocking.

Good find OP, smoking hot!

What makes you think this is a direct drive washing machine?

I'll give you a clue, it isn't.
SuffolkLad222
21 Nov 16 1 #81
Agree passionately!
I loved our LG direct drive when I first got it; looked cool, was so quiet, washed well. Within months it started rattling like anything, and it gets blocked regularly (even though we clean the filter monthly). We've had to call a man out about twice a year. It went wrong again this weekend and I've decided enough is enough so will be changing it. What a waste of money it has been!
