I bought this last week from Babies R Us for £99.99 and it is a fantastic rear facing chair. VERY comfy and well built. Did a lot of research into this before I bought it. Save yourself the hassle, get it, worth every penny.

Have a look at Joie's own website, they are one of the only big manufacturers that are really doing anything to try and get patents to see how much safer rear facing is http://www.lookbacklonger.com It does also say in the Stages manual that when you baby/child is between 9 and 18kgs in weight (and therefore may use the seat rear facing or forward facing) that you should chose rear facing because it's safer.

You know what, I agree - the seat in my car is still rear facing but my partner decided to turn hers to forward facing last week. Will have that "discussion" this afternoon!

Great price seeing as rear facing are so expensive.
I'm already on the lookout for a deal for my 6 month old twins as getting this requirement without a deal would cost £££!
So confused though as so many to choose from

Yep there's never going to be much room but it's still safer, I have a 3year old who makes himself comfortable rear facing

We have this seat, and it's been very good, my only criticisms are that 1) The straps are a bit awkward to loosen and tighten as the webbing end you pull to tighten can easily get jammed if you don't pull it in a perfectly straight line (you do naturally tend to pull slightly towards you when you're leaning in to strap baby in) and 2) Though it might be rear facing up to 18kg our 1 year old is already having to forward face as he doesn't have much room for his legs when rear facing (due to it only being usable in the fully reclined position when rear facing, meaning his feet are touching the backrest of the rear seats).

We have a joie car seat that has exactly the same issues with the straps. I've contacted customer services and my last email has been ignored. :disappointed:

Please turn it back to rear facing, your son can cross his legs. If my 4 1/2 year old (she weighs 14kgs, so still within the 18kgs weight limit for rear facing) can sit rear facing I'm sure your 1 year old can.
