This stuff does work but had it go streaky/oily after a couple of weeks obstructing vision which isn't too good.

Oh that's good to know - I always thought that Ford's heated front screen worked the same as the rear screen on all cars. And yes...it's only for the inside only lol.

It's not for clearing ice, it's supposed to make rain slip off more easily. I actually used the formula which includes a screen cleaner and then leaves the product behind. On re-reading this I see this version of the product is sold for use on the inside of the screen - may be different but I still wouldn't touch it after our previous experience.

Cheers. I've used it on a number of Ford heated windscreens and never had a problem, the trick is to apply a couple of coats of it and to do it on a warm day. Also, don't try to wipe the screen if there is too much moisture around as it will then get streaky until you re-apply it.
I applied it to my current car windscreen for the first time the other day and it isn't working as well as it normally does, presumably because it was more difficult to rub onto the screen clearly when it was cold (and dark so couldn't really see what I was doing).
This stuff works fantastically well on bathroom mirrors as well.

My old Focus had a heated screen, which was great for clearing ice but it still misted up badly inside. My question would be how it got wet...

Hmm it might be relevant that it's heated because it's specially treated unlike other non-heated screens.
Used in my RX-8 and haven't had that.issue...thanks for replying.

Happens to have been a Mk6 Fiesta with heated screen - but I don't think that's relevant as it was simply made of Glass like all the others.

BEWARE! Used this on a screen and it went milky and streaky when wet - very dangerous. Tried many solvents to get it off but it wouldn't budge. Came close to having to replace a £600 heated screen. Previous posts have revealed I'm not alone.

it works but after a few weeks you have to remove it because it turns into a frosted window effect, which takes a lot of elbow grease to remove.

Exactly the same with the Rain Repellant product. Works AMAZINGLY on first application for 2 months or so, but after that, you need to apply it more regular and regular until you're doing it every week. Otherwise, like you say, you have patches of screen that the rain sticks to and doesn't move, and patches where it moves. Which is actually worse than having a non-applied screen in the first place. Having you over a barrel springs to mind...
