I could only imagine it is to exaggerate the cashback percentage or in the case of these similar promotions to confuse some members in to believing they still qualify if they purchased the lesser amount.

There is no other plausible explanation.

Practically all items sold by all merchants charge 20% vat (excluding mainly food sales, children's clothes, insurers), so it is unreasonable to apply the method for the minority of merchants who sometimes sell at less than 20% vat on the majority of merchant sales that always charge vat.

If for example a merchant wished to offer 6% (£6) on a £100 (net sale) and the item is listed everywhere on their website as £120 (incl vat), then why state it is 6% cashback and not 5% of £120 (also £6)?

2 options:
6% cashback (small-print stating excl vat)
5% cashback (far easier for the member but doesn't look as good)

Obviously the only reason is that the 6% option looks much better.

Mine is down as fracked from when I spent £39.99 on the 23rd (the offer was £25 plus VAT then). No sign of the tenner...

Quidco down again just before i wanted to use the £10 bonus offer why do maintenance at 11pm and the offer ends 11.59pm just wait or did quidco have to pay out to many tenners ?

Yeah fair enough, I saw what you meant when I clicked through. It highlighted five or so retailers up the top (incl Debenhams in store) but then had dozens of non-inclusive stores underneath. My bad, just checked. But the Quidco layout is not helpful. When you click opt in and then start shopping it displays the Debenhams in-store link. You have to scroll down to get the Debenhams online link or search for it.

Reading all the comments on here, I see too many contradictions. Maybe people need to start leaning on Quidco a bit more, telling them to put it out there in plain English. I see TCB are paying dividends on their FastTrack orders to Argos, it's written up nicely.

Just gonna buy two Amazon Fires on Argos via Fast Track. Plus some batteries, this takes me over the £50 threshold. Are they, Quidco, still paying cashback on Fast Track purchases with Argos?

Quidco scam. They advertise the £10 cashback but you will never get it paid.

Where does it say that? I'm assuming once the offer is activated, if you pay £60 (excl delivery) you'll be eligible.

Its at least £60 (£50 plus £10 VAT) so if its more than £60 you are okay, though delivery not included in that price either.

So if you aren't paying for delivery you should be okay.

Though try to ignore those that reckon 20% VAT on £50 is £12.50, they are somewhat a little confused with maths

Argos cashback terms and conditions state that cashback won't be paid on fast track orders unless stated, so is the £10 bonus only eligible on home delivery orders?

All cashback bonuses from quidco and other sites take around a month to show up. If they don't then you raise a claim. I have had £10 cashback from quidco in the past, it was a bit of a hassle trying to get it and it did take a while but in the end I did get it. Infact I ended up getting £20 as they messed up somehow but I wasnt going to tell them that :smile:

I had a problem with an Argos transaction too. Did one on Wednesday morning which tracked no problem and then another (for the same item) on Wednesday afternoon when the £10 bonus was available and it didn't track. It had recorded my click though and have now put in a claim. Hopefully it will be ok because I've cancelled the first order.

No, mine hasn't either. I spent £100 on a TV at Curry's on 19/11/2016. My cashback has tracked at 83p. The other £10 has mysteriously not been included...

You won't see your £10 bonus until 72 hours after cashback has been paid.

Not after it has tracked or not imeadiately but 72 hours after it has been confirmed/paid to you.

In other words, you won't see your £10 bonus for about 3 months if at all.

Quidco were quite clear on this imo but the whole VAT thing has been a bit sneaky.

Have you even read any of the other posts? ​It has already been mentioned many times that the £10 would only appear 3 days after the transaction progresses from being "tracked" to "confirmed".

This would usually take several months.

However if you mean that your transaction does not even appear as "tracked" then you should submit a manual claim.

Im avoiding these now, neither of my previous £10 have shown up and been a few days. Have to say Quidco has really gone the way of topcashback and is far worse than it used to be with tracking.

Just checked how long it took for my last tracked cashback from zavvi to go from tracked to confirmed...I'm a premium member on Quidco, cashback tracked on the 3rd of October and was confirmed on the 19th November so looks like it could be a long wait for quite a lot of people...suspect that Quidco may even be hoping that a lot of people will have forgotten about the extra £10 offer by the time their cashback is confirmed and as a result won't notice if they don't get it...I took a screenshot of the offer showing that I'd opted in so I had evidence to back up any possible future claim....

Do think it is really underhand of Quidco as well to say spend £25 (offer that was on earlier in the week) or £50 (as the latest offer was) and get £10 cashback as most people will think they just have to spend that amount to get the extra cashback as that's the amount that's emphasized in their advert and won't read the T's & C's and realise that it excludes VAT or delivery...thankfully I read the T's & C's and noticed and what I was ordering at £31.99 was just over the magic threshold including the VAT anyway.

It is still running, you had to redeem the offer before all the maximum number of opt ins was reached but after redemption you had/have until 23:59 to click through from Quidco and make an order. They reached the maximum number of opt ins over six and a half hours ago or before 5pm.

Second time in a row they've lied about it running out at midnight. Suppose I should have learnt my lesson the first time and done it before 11pm...

Ooh that will be the legendary TCB denying genuine Cashback claims for customers for Financial Services i.e Bank Accounts, Loans, Insurances etc and then it ws found out that the supposed declined Cashback was actually received by TCB from Merchant/Affiliate and NOT passed to the customer. Those types of cashback have a legal backing, unlike having declined cashback from Tesco or Asda. As more and more of those cases kept turning up we stopped using them after that.

But have to agree that these Offers from Quidco are misleading, they highlight in Bold Font onscreen and email that spend £25 or more to receive incentive bonus, likewise £50 or more for this offer. If you want to be more specific then an asterisk clause next to the minimum spend amount with small print just below will cover it, not hide it in T&Cs when the VAT issue doesn't apply to every merchant.

Yes it should be made more clear by Quidco but people taking them to court is a bit out of order. They are more of a honest, generous and fair company than Topcashback who are regularly denying genuine cash back for many!

Quidco been sending out deceiving emails for years nothing changes once you read the small print most offers are not as good as they first look in the emails etc.

Also agree, don't believe any bad intentions, just covering their own backs for merchants who report excluding VAT. Must be a better way of doing the promotion though.

Couldn't agree more Chanchi! You only know if the merchant reports with or without VAT after it tracks so you've got no way of knowing what you need to spend, unless you've bought from there before! I only know Game reports without VAT as people mentioned it in a previous bonus thread. I bought from Toys R Us and they definitely report including VAT. Anyone bought from the other merchants recently?

Hopefully they will take the feedback on board when devising future promotions. For what it's worth I dont think there is any bad intentions e.g. they didn't have to run the promo, but probably hadn't thought it through properly. Won't be in their interest to create complaints etc

If you're buying Lego, then maybe just spend £75 to take advantage of the £20 Lego Gift Coupon. Then you're definitely over the £50 barrier and you'll get the £10 bonus back, plus the £20 coupon to spend after (I think) Boxing Day.

Have read about someone complaining on social media about raising the issue with Advertising Standards Authority around the misleading advert
Keep your screen grab (screen shot) on the older advert that did not have the excluding VAT and delivery and raise complaint with Quidco and if required go via Small Claims Court

Would this work for pre-orders?

At a minimum they should have listed what the actual customer spend is needed at each retailer to qualify for the promotion in the t's and c's if it's not consistent e.g. Game £62.50, Toys r us £50 etc

£50 min spend is fine as long as the merchant reports the spend including VAT, most merchants do this. I know Game reports your spend excluding VAT though so would need to spend £62.50 there.

Toys R Us reports your spend including VAT so only have to spend £50 there, not sure about the others.

If you pay online normally it counts

Spent £32.94 for the £25 spend at Argos four days ago & still no sign of the £10.

The £10 will be added when your cashback is confirmed status. Normally it takes several weeks to several months to reach this status depending on the retailer. In some cases, the retailer will reject your cashback so you will end up with nothing.

It is because many of the retailers pay them based on the net cost, not gross.

It probably would have been nicer for these promotions if they just said spend £30 and £60, however. And if they wanted to contend with delivery then add a fiver no top as well or something.

Why not just include VAT in the price quoted and exclude from the terms and conditions.

The delivery fee is understandable however I feel that the VAT part is just deceiving. Whilst it's the consumer's responsibility to read all the terms and condition it merely preys on those who don't, which as I'm sure you're aware are many!

I'm normally a TCB typa-guy but as Quidco had a whopping 11% on purchases from Lego store I thought I'd give it a try. made 2 purchases and 100% clicked through Quidco to make them. when I checked 2 days later nothing has tracked and when I try to make a claim I get a message saying I haven't clicked through to any retailers at all! so I haven't even been able to put a manual claim through. What would you suggest I do next?

So what this SHOULD say in the title is £10 cashback on a minimum of £60 spend excluding delivery.... I wish it had mentioned the vat in the title as I only spent £50 in game!

they have to be confirmed first don't they? Otherwise they could pay you the £10 then you could return it within 14 days.
