Does this maintain 4:3 ratio or does it stretch to 16:9 ?

As long as you have whatever player you have picture mode set correctly it will not stretch the picture to 16:9 and display in 4:3 at its native 1:33:1

keep the great memories, don't try to 're live them. It's the same as great video games from childhood. You remember they were amazing because at the time they were. It doesn't take long to realize they weren't so great after all.

They did as well as can be expected considering at the time of shooting they were unsure whether the network was going to renew or cancel it for another season. Without wanting to put any spoilers out there for those that have not watched it simply do not follow this [link] which does have an alternative end scripting for Season 6 should the network have continued.

After knowing this I have always had a different appreciation for the last episode.

Moonlighting, Quantum Leap, Senfield and "Cheers" this is WHEN US knew how to make a GREAT Series. Now its Gore or Sex or Both...... or Trump....or Brexit !!! The final episode... is weird....but.....I wont spoil it......Though Perfect Series. Deserves a movie using the original Actor !!!!!

The final episode of Quantum Leap is one of the finest, most satisfying and poignant final episodes of any series I've seen. You will have your answer, quite definitively, however you decide to interpret it.
