In the Black Friday sales, a trio of US games stood out as being a pinch cheaper than their Canadian counterparts, namely Mad Max, Arkham Knight and Shadow of Mordor GOTY (Battlefront is a few cents cheaper in Canada, but still worth mentioning here, I felt).
Better still, with this cheeky PS+ hack, you can save even more. Full credit to thbm.
Some quick background: for some reason, trying to take advantage of a US/Canadian PS+ free trial doesn't work from the UK.
However, you can trick Sony into giving you two free days.
Simply sign into your US (or Canadian) account on your PS4, fire up a game and create a save file.
Now go to Settings > Application Saved Data Management > Saved Data in System Storage > Upload to Online Storage
When you try to upload you'll get an error message saying this feature is only for PS+ subscribers, but hey, why not have two free days? YES!
Now you can hit up the Black Friday sales and take advantage of the additional PS+ discounts.
And you can still use the 10% discount code D9NGJ7NF3L !! (Edit: as jay-uk has discovered, this is a one-time code).
£8.01 for $10 from PCGameSupply (https://mobile.pcgamesupply.com/catalog/buygames/sony-playstation-network-cards) yields the following prices (give or take a penny/cent):
Star Wars Battlefront
Was: $29.99
Now: $10.49
PS+ (10%): $7.49
10% off code: $6.74
Effective UK price: £5.40
Mad Max
Was: $19.99
Now: $9.99
PS+ (10%): $7.99
10% off code: $7.20
Effective UK price: £5.75
Shadow of Mordor GOTY
Was: $19.99
Now: $9.99
PS+ (10%): $7.99
10% off code: $7.20
Effective UK price: £5.75
I wish I had seen this before I added my cash to my Canadian account yesterday. typical really but have some heat for a great bit of advice.

How can you see if there's plus discount on games before you become a member?

Good question. Annoyingly, the web store only shows the potential PS+ discount if you go into each individual game; you can't just scroll through and see all the yellow prices - unless you're already a member.
This blog is probably your best bet. These are the US prices; generally Canada is cheaper - Mad Max, Arkham Knight and Mordor being the notable exceptions.
I now realise I should've copied this when I typed my 149-game Canadian post the other night

Did anyone else get a free $10 credit to add to their wallet? Had $9 left, added the free $10 and got Doom without having to add anything after the 10% code. Gotta love Black Friday sales!
Ah, seems it was for buying a PS4 Pro and it expires on the 30th, so if you bought one too then check on the store.

Ok, so it's $24.99 on both; $22.49 after the 10% discount code (no additional PS+ discount, I'm afraid). That's the equivalent of 18.02 USD or 13.33 CAD.
Some people have mentioned having trouble getting the 10% discount to work, but I've just used it (literally about five minutes ago) to buy Battlefront from the US Store. If you want to test it out, you can add Rainbow Six to your basket and try applying the code before you've actually bought your credit (from PCGameSupply or elsewhere).

Sony haven't made any effort to close a loophole that's been around for years. I set up Japanese and US accounts on my PS3 so I could effectively import a couple of Fire Pro games that just aren't available in the U.K.
Really the worst thing you're doing here is taking advantage of the exchange rate, which is no worse than going on holiday and picking up a cheap pair of designer jeans, say.
As for having your PS4 banned, I reckon it's more likely that your Canadian/US account would be banned and/or that you couldn't play the imported stuff on your UK account. But the current infrastructure absolutely supports having accounts in different regions.

It's really no hassle at all. If I went into similar detail about getting ready for work (get out of bed, remove boxers, turn on shower, wait for shower to heat up sufficiently, wet hair, apply shampoo...), you'd be like, "**** that, I'm staying in bed"
