I have a boxed 160gb slim ps3 with an unofficial pad, would they accept that? Couldn't see anywhere on the grading spec saying it needs an official pad for b grade but anyone know before I take it tomorrow? Thanks

Normally PS3 is around £50-£60 in cash converters or similar stores so it's a good deal if you get one. Not trading in my 1TB PS3 with a backlog of games which I will try but never get through :laughing:

Absolutely useless company and I can't decide whether I want to make a journey into town just to prove a point but ultimately still have some jobsworth say to me that the Store Manager's decision is final...

Just did this offer, they didn't know about it in store but honoured it after checking the website. COD was a physical copy in the box so I traded this in for £41. So in the end swapped the ps3 slim for a ps4 including star wars for £108!!! not often I've been into Game and felt I had got an absolute bargain, couldn't recommend this offer high enough.

Worth also noting that you could trade star wars too, but you wouldn't get much for it. but what is good is you also get £5 of Game points with this deal. Brilliant deal!

When I got the voucher for pre-ordering gears 4 they were oblivious and even after pointing out the deal on their website the manager tried to scam me by saying it was for the ultimate edition only until i pointed out the t&c's.

BUT the console code should specify which model / hard drive it is, not that thta really matters. I would assume Game would be going by serial, so it SHOULD be a 320gb model, but it is game afterall, so who knows. Their is no difference anyway other than that, just a premium for more GB.

Well you cqn take these deal and sell to cex a console and games and will have halve the money you need for ps4 pro.

I've just changed the hard drive and you don't need to remove the warranty seal, you just need remove the plastic cover next to the warranty seal to remove the HDD.

For the people who successfully traded there's in what checks did they do other than make sure it works and check the HDD size?

Googling the serial number confirms it's a 120gb so guess I'm out then.

Good deal. Also certain people were worried about COD this year. Its actually the first cod with all three great main modes (and VR on PS4). I am really enjoying the single player lol. The flying stuff is fun and the rpg style optional mission system is refreshing.

Took mine in and they asked for 5 games but when I pointed out the T&C mentioned in games they decided it wasn't in good enough condition as it's a glossy one and the kids haven't looked after it as well as they could have.

Soooo, they didnt accept my pad as it had worn thumb, so traded it into CEX and got basically new pad. Happy going to Game and guess what, the console has scratches on glossy bit so theyll rate it C grade and not giving the deal.

Think it would be next to impossible to keep the glossy console in mint condition with no marks whatsoever.

From now on will not even try to participate these game deals, completely useless.

I did this today and they initially said the same thing, but it comes bundled with a physical copy inside the box.

It does say bundle copy, or whatever, but CEX accept them if you choose to trade in.

Sorry for late reply, you know how time flies when you get a new console. Both games have a disk, the COD also has the season pass. I did not take the ps3 box in because the T&Cs said I didn't need to. No probs getting the deal but the guy really tested out the old console before agreeing to the deal. The store had no idea about the deal so got him to look on their website. he then printed off the deal to hand out to the other staff, well impressed with the guy actually.

I couldn't give my PS3 away, Sue Ryder and Oxfam wouldn't take it. I had it on freecycle for three months and no one came for it. In the end it went to the tip.

Still use the PS3 more than the PS4. Great machine. Great features. And an excellent interface that isn't made for planks and Americans. And I do miss the short video clips and full screen effect when highlighting a game or movie on the PS4. Shame we'll probably never see another console like it again.

The ps3 I traded in was the slim version and my unused ps3 super slim is now under the tv at the side of the new ps4.
Have too many re-playable ps3 games to not keep one of these consoles but happy I can now play new games on the ps4

I took in the composite leads but no hdmi lead, you could try just the hdmi lead

It's just the power plug that is not an original. Everything else is fine

I suggest just take and see, luck of the draw how particular the store guy is

Managed to trade my 120gb model with a upgraded HDD to 320gb.

The guy in the store didn't know about the deal but the manager brought over a clipboard with the promotion printed out on it, he said that as long as the HAD is over 160gb they would accept the console as long as the warranty sticker wasn't tampered with.

I supplied everything apart from the HDMI cable.

Have two games near me (potentially 3) so taking over mine today and will also pre-order a 2nd pro.

For the people who have traded in the console, My xbox was originally a 4GB but it has a 250gb hard drive in it without the drive enclosure its just plugged straight into the sata ports with some paper towel supporting the drive.

Do they open up the drive part and check the drive?

Game are sketchy as truck about accepting consoles that fit the criteria, just be prepared for an argument with them

It's not the season pass. It's just a code for terminal map pack. The front page of the 4 page booklet just markets the season pass. Came with my retail copy too.

They didn't want to accept our 360, apparently its more 'C' grade. Oh well, guess we're keeping it. Its more than good enough for my daughter to play minecraft on and for me play a racing game every so often.

First game accepted fine with no quality issues but couldn't connect to their garbage wifi so they had to refuse trade. (They hadn't even heard of the deal as nobody had come in for it )
2nd game flatly refused my pad for because of a small chip so said sell me one of your used pads for £20 and bundle that.
Worked fine with their wifi but the pad they tried to sell me was faulty so had to buy a new one for £31, also traded in a couple of games while I was there so a grand total of £124.04 to pay as I had to cough up 5p for a large carrier bag ;(

managed to get it done with my brothers 160GB. used the composite cable and adapter and power lead from my super slim had to replace my controller for his as his was unresponsive (funny as i had used it to flatten his ps3). traded in the two games kept the DLC. Will flog the DLC and now tv voucher on ebay.

Tried to trade my ps3 slim with 500gb hdd. Wouldnt accept due to drive being upgraded.

Tried to trade it in today. They were not aware of the offer and I needed to show him the Game website.

My console got graded as a C because the vents were too dusty. Going to give it a clean and try again. Pretty good condition otherwise.

Give it a go, it's generally upto the member of staff involved. First guy I dealt with was casual and couldn't care less, 2nd refused pad in seconds.
My vents and fan were covered in dust but they didn't even mention it.
Had a few scratches and marks on top but nothing major.

I tried trading in a boxed Xbox360 4gb slim (immaculate condition), with an official 320gb hard drive, hdmi cable, original psu, and original wireless controller. they refused it as the controller didnt have the original battery back plate. i offered to chuck in my dual charger with two rechargeable battery packs but they weren't interested.crazy, who'd bother keeping the original battery back plates? i rang another local store and confirmed what i had to trade in. they also wanted the original controller back plates.
neither stores knew anything about the offer until i pointed them to the website. seems like a great offer from head office but the individual store managers obviously arent interested in them.

Did this today at Welwyn Garden City, but didn't realise I could have exchanged my 120gb console instead of my 250gb. Heyho. I thought my console was in great shape, but at first the guy serving said mine was C grade. The manager OK'd it though, takes a while to check it out though, but I'm happy with the deal.

They did say to do the deal, the console had to be in working order and had to have 5 games with it that totalled 5 quid or more. That wasn't in the T&Cs but I wasn't complaining.
After trading in near enough every game I have and some accessories, I had to pay 98 quid. I'm planning to sell off COD and Battlefront, so all in all not bad!
Also, if you have those Move controllers and are not looking to use them for Sony VR, Game trades them for 15 quid.

I managed to get this deal earlier after a very diplomatic exchange with the manager. They hadn't heard of the deal either in my local and explained that since the closure/buyout a few years ago, a separate company runs their website to that which manages the stores and they have very poor communication with the instore guys as to what deals are being promoted, so that sucks for them and naturally causes consistency problems when we go in for deals like this.

One of the supervisors was really really reluctant to put it through (his furrowed brow said it all) since the deal is valuing my old xbox slim pretty high compared to their instore price (which is pants, cause its Game). When I came back after an hour of checks they tried to not accept it as my console was 4gb with a 250gb hdd, which I assured them that is no issue and it IS a 250gb now console so who cares, and then they tried saying they couldn't take it as the box states its 4gb and to be a B grade it needs the box, which I then had to remind them their OWN website states B grade may not have a box so they can chuck that away if they wish to sell it complete with hdd. Thankfully, she conceded and was polite enough during the whole exchange (unlike the vile monster that manages the store downstairs in the same mall) so props to the Merry Hill store (upstairs) just ashame the company structure and the lack of comms make life harder than it should be for all involved.

I went Stratford earlier too and got told to trade 5 games in. I showed them the deal on their website and that it stated nothing about games, but they were having none of it and said the PS3 is only worth ~£30. I went to the Ilford one and managed to do it without the games.

By the way CEX buy the move controllers for £23 cash or £28 voucher.

Decided against this deal.. going to wait for the Pro to be released and see what the deals are on that and/or PS4 Slim. Might lose out by about £20, but hopefully not.

If you have a PS3 or X360 lying about and don't use it anymore, I would go ahead with this deal today. They aren't worth much anymore, and the probability of GAME offering the chance to trade in a PS3/X360 in the future are slim. I assume you'll have to trade in an original PS4 for the PS4 Pro in future.

It's a little embarrassing for everyone involved really, we shouldn't have to tell them their own deals, or even T&Cs. So anyone going for this today should prepare for a little back and forth in the worst case.

Got mine today after having to pay £10 for a 250gb hard drive from CEX all good though as it would have been £20 if I didn't trade in my other 250gb 2"5 inch drive

She informed me that there was some battery acid or something at the bottom of battery pack and it would cost an extra £2.

For those of you who are turned down just try again in a different store or different day with different staff. I traded in my ps3 slim ages ago and I am OCD mate no joke. It was immaculate.
The guy looked at it for 20 mins. Running his hands all over it, looking at it from every angle and holding it up to the light etc. I was actually gonna say he was taking the p*** but eventually he comes back and says there's a microscopic crack along the line of the chassis. Absolute joke. It had cracked from the ps3 heating up from play and you couldn't even see it. I had never noticed it in 3yrs. So I said well mate that's my business taken elsewhere.
Got in car, 5mins down the road and into another GAME. They took it. No worries. Since that day I trade everything in to the GAME that turned me down and buy everything on credit from the one that took my ps3.

I was going to trade in my xbox360 at fort kinnaird Edinburgh but the guy asked me for photo id which I don't have, I have an old paper driving licence and I don't have a passport so that was very annoying he wouldn't let me trade it in.

​I was in the store for almost 2 hours.. my console just qualified for grade B and was going smoothly for them to then say the offer doesnt exist so i showed them on my phone from their website for them to go into the back come out 10 minutes later to say it doesn't include xbox 360 slims in the offer.m for me to then show them again it clearly states in T&C.. for them to look my xbox up and down for 10 minutes to say it now doesn't qualify for grade B it's a grade C and they wouldn't make any money on the console.. absolute nightmare it was.. apparently they where also not allowed to give me their names either so I couldn't make a formal complaint, anyways after arguing with them for almost 2 hours I got my ps4.. won't be purchasing from GAME ever again

Just got back from trading in, the guy I got in the Lakeside shopping centre was friendly and informed and knew all about this deal when I mentioned it. He didn't give any exact dates, but for anyone interested who mentioned the PS4 Pro earlier in the thread, they will be soon doing a trade in deal for current PS4 (plus 2 or 3 games he wasn't 100% sure which) and you get the PS4 Pro for £150. The guy mentioned this xbox deal is probably designed to tempt people to trade up to current gen hoping they then re-buy/buy new games/PSVR/hardware etc instead of just playing their old backlog of games they already have on the old console

50 in stock, said 47 were pre-ordered.

Back from trading in my ps3 which was mint .... they looked at it then asked where the usb charging lead was ... ended up going home for it on the bus in the rush hour and returning to the store. Got quoted 3 different prices before they finally hit the right one ... funny enuff none were under, only over. Happy enough in the end tho ...
p.s. not one pound shop sells the buggerz any more !!!
