I guess more people will be buying a VPN soon with the new laws being put in place but please pass this around, most people aren't aware of the ramifications of the Investigatory Powers Act
Read the excel file on this page, im looking for a deal to replace my Cyberghost. Looking at this, Nord VPN or IP Vanish.
Nord VPN is not on the enemy of the internet list, but can only have one connection to the same server. I guess shouldnt be that much of a problem, just have to connect to a different country. VPN Comparison

Used PIA for several years without a problem...servers all over world and can be used for torrenting if needed...

Same here, tried many others and PIA is the only one that has been reliable and offers loads of locations.

My current subscription doesn't expire until Feb, will buying this now add another 12 months onto my current term? Cheers.
Edit: Fast response from their support team but not the answer I wanted...
"Purchasing another 12 months at $29 will generate a separate account. Unfortunately, we're unable to merge accounts nor add time to existing subscriptions."

'valid for 12 months' I've got about 11 months of PIA left. Are you suggesting that I would get a code that I would apply in 11mths time and get the next 12mths or would it stack on the existing licence?
Sorry I checked the t&c's but didn't spot this before I got too bored

I think my company (offshore oil platform) just blocked private internet access and I have still got 8 months left of my subscription. if anyone knows a work around I'd be much appreciative.
Nord had had a series of problems recently. Very slow speeds and very poor support. IPVanish is a pretty shady VPN. I wouldn't touch it. I have used AirVPN and BlackVPN recently. both very good on speed. Neither keep anything logs but BlackVPN clinched it for me because they're outside the fourteen eyes. it's currently half price with voice "blackfriday".
PIA also gets good reviews but personally I wanted to avoid a US based VPN.

PIA have been tested legally, however I believe they don't have an NSA warrant canary on their site - they're pretty popular so I would expect intelligence agencies to keep an eye on them(whether they know it or not).
It seems signup isn't so easy from an android phone. The signup box closes when entering details.

How would this deal with having all home traffic (streaming etc) through it? How much latency does it add?
I'm in the process of setting up a router at home to encrypt and tunnel all traffic and need a service which adds the least overhead.
On that note - are there any good guides or forums about this kind of thing?

Exactly why I am looking for one. Is this regarded as one of the better VPNs? I have read a lot of the comparisons and my initial thought was to avoid a US based company. Because of that NordVPN looked good but I am reading really bad things about speeds. Its quite confusing when looking for why to sign up with.

Personally, on the few occasions that I need VPN, I use the native one in Opera browser (based in Canada with limited country options). Free and fast, but already blocked by Netflix.
Just hope we can get enough people out there aware of whats going on, so many people I talk to knew nothing about the Investigatory Powers Act. When they realise that everything they do and their children do will be tracked it'll be too late.
I mention to everyone I speak to and try to explain just how serious this is. The way it has simply been slipped under the radar is disgusting. Lets not kid ourselves this is just the start!

I've used PIA for a long time now absolutely faultless top speeds I've got 55mbps fibre & torrents are fast plus using their app on Windows or Android is so easy too.
I always use it torrenting & I'll use it 24/7 after the new tory spy on everyone law
I Have had PIA for over 3 years now and currently im getting up to 60mb from Sweden, Germany, Netherlands and London (its about as fast as my internet goes anyway) and I have it as soon as I logon to my Computer and always on my phone. Recently though, maybe due to increased popularity, I have found a few sites and apps blocks from certain locations. I just changed location which is a pain but at least I can get around it.
Also, Highly recommend using OpenVPN on WIndows 10 as I have found it drop out from time to time

Just an FYI - The PIA client defaults to the faster server, which is in the UK. Make sure you change it

Why? It's a VPN so it's not your IP that is being used regardless of where the server is.

Couple of well regarded non-US VPN providers with offers - AirVPN and blackVPN
I can't decide whether to get this or CyberGhost. I just want to be able to change my country so that I can stream TV shows from Canada, Australia etc. I've had no luck with free versions and I had downloaded/torrented HotSpot Shield Elite but now it's requiring a password so I can't use it anymore :disappointed:

Red, how has it been for you? I know i wont be renewing, reason why its cheap in my opinion.
Little, all VPN should be able to do this, what i would do is Google the VPN and then whatever program you are using, so Cyberghost Netflix and see what the forums say. I would strongly suggest using Kodi though, free and better than Netflix.
Have you used either of these?
BlackVPN looks better as it's not in the 14 eyes, but AirVPN is on VPN Manager for Kodi... Black VPN is not so would have to try using the openvpn app on Kodi, not used VPN on Kodi for a long time though.

Just purchased this and it's been a complete nightmare (and I've barely got to the point of testing it's speeds). Why have they got such a weird setup for accounts/passwords?
Edit: Managed to fix the problem. After receiving some emails after purchasing the vpn I didn't get the email giving my username/password until 2.5 hours after I signed up. The entire setup of the VPN is annoying so I might end up cancelling before the 7 days money back guarantee runs out.
Also keep an eye on the the subscription. It automatically rolls onto the next year at the same price so if you're not interested in that you need to go to the website and change it in the control panel.

Took around five minutes in total-speeds looking fine atm.

Many people speak highly of AirVPN you can check out their site and forums. I purchased from them a few days ago and I much prefer the client than Nord, PureVPN,Torguard and others - my favourite VPN so far(cross fingers). I don't want a US based VPN company - US law enforcement/government agencies are extreme and ruthless, who knows what they'll get up to.

It took 2 and a half hours for the account details to arrive in my inbox. No idea why. When I contacted them to say I hadn't received the email, they sent a password reset straight away and that took 30 mins too.
The people I emailed back and forward were quick in replying and very nice too.
Thinking about trying another black Friday VPN sale and see if I can find any better. I've used less well known VPN's before and the options/speeds they gave were better than I seem to be getting just now.

you'd need to change it, if you need to get past geographical restrictions. Yes using the default UK server will still hide your usage but certain sites or content will be blocked.

They give out three day trials, but as the deal ends tomorrow might be too late. Could mean end of tomorrow though.
Servers quick on Windows exe, plus OpenVPN for Kodi, P2P also fine.
Who did you go with? If the deal is still on tomorrow, let me know for ref link:p
