Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is the next entry in the award-winning Civilization franchise, which has sold in nearly 33 million units worldwide, including more than 8 million units of Civilization V.
Originally created by legendary game designer Sid Meier, Civilization is a turn-based strategy game in which you attempt to build an empire to stand the test of time. Become Ruler of the World by establishing and leading a civilization from the Stone Age to the Information Age. Wage war, conduct diplomacy, advance your culture, and go head-to-head with history’s greatest leaders as you attempt to build the greatest civilization the world has ever known.
Civilization VI offers new ways to engage with your world: cities now physically expand across the map, active research in technology and culture unlocks new potential, and competing leaders will pursue their own agendas based on their historical traits as you race for one of five ways to achieve victory in the game.

Well, I have had a think about this tonight and decided that I'll follow this up twofold. I'll be emailing Gabe Newell to see under what guise the request to revoke keys was made. If necessary, I'll issue small claims proceedings in Malta. What worries me, is this could set a precedent. What are the rules about revoking keys bought legitimately? These muddy waters need clearing and I'm happy to pursue it.

I have been refunded but still have the game....I wonder if Steam will let them? or maybe its just because its the weekend.
I still think its shocking that they would be allowed to take it back from those that have redeemed already. Its like me buying something from a high street shop in the sale and them knocking on my door demanding it back because they sold it at the wrong price!

You right, but too late. It was advertised on website and someone contacted to GR about issue web server and confirming prices. So GR not replied during Black Friday event then happened that. Customers not fault, GR fault.

It was a mistake, we've all made them. Imagine the mistakes you've made before and then people try to destroy you because of said mistake. If you win this battle you gain a game at rock bottom price that most will only play for a few hours but the mistake could likely have repercussions on the company and perhaps it's employees.
I sat up for hours trying to get the game, got past setting up an account on GR but failed to get the game into my cart. I knew it was a mistake price and so did you's all. It was even 'suggested' in the thread title.
At worst yous have a free game and a discount code...which was better compensation than I got sitting up to 5am lol !

I do have sympathy for the company here as one pricing error for a product with electronic delivery can be an absolute disaster, and if they couldn't revoke would be vastly one-sided towards the customer. Better we have companies still in business competing against each other.
And for any criticism of Games Republic for understandably looking to revoke the keys after payment, that criticism should equally go to Valve/Steam who allow it.

Revoke process can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days (in some cases weeks).
Game republics own T&C state:
"The End Users agrees and accepts that: (a) purchase shall be deemed made by the Parties upon recording the payment of End User at the Company’s account, and (b) providing the End User with link and proper rights to use of the Application shall be made no earlier than after recording mentioned payment by the Company."
"Company” shall mean Games Republic Limited.
"“End User” shall mean individual to be at least 18 years old"
"The Company is entitled to add, modify or delete any information available on the Website at any time for any reasons which shall not affect to the Applications already purchased by the End User."
So surely the purchase was "Made" as me being an individual over 18 made a payment that was recorded by them in their paypal account, and they provided a link to allow me access to the application. Then after my purchase it doesn matter what they change the price to it shouldnt affect my transaction.
Steam seems to reserve the rights to cancel keys, but recently mainly based on fraud from a google search, however none is aparent here. Games Republic must have purchased the keys from Take2 for them to be able to send them out, we then purchased them from Games republic in good faith. Unless they find out the Games republic stole the keys I dont see who was defrauded in this case.

Dear customer,
Thank you for purchasing Sid Meier's Civilization VI Deluxe Edition on Games Republic. As you noticed the price for such new game was really low. Unfortunately, it was too good to be true. The discount for Civilization VI Deluxe Edition was a price bug on our side.
We're really sorry, but we need to cancel your order for Sid Meier's Civilization VI - Deluxe Edition. The money for your order will be transferred back to your bank account within next few days. If you already activated the game on your Steam account, the game will be deactivated and removed from your account soon.
We're really sorry about the whole situation. During such huge sales like Black Friday, where we have so many discounted games, such mistakes sometimes just take place. As a small form of compensation for the situation we're offering you a 25% discount on your next purchase on Games Republic, as well we're keeping your free Anomaly 2 game on your account.
If you have any questions please contact us at [email protected].
Once again, sorry for the situation and we hope to see you in Games Republic soon.
All the best,

I didn't manage to get a copy after trying for over 2 1/2 hour ..... but if I did, I guarantee I'd be keeping the game.
Games Republic cannot legally enforce what they are trying to do, due to the receipt of the code and redemption, along with payment being taken, an exchange has taken place which forms a contract. For them to revoke the code would breach that contract and the purchaser would be able to take them to court for damages.
To say you can keep the 2 games that nobody even wanted (or probably knew about) and offer a 25% off voucher is a goodwill gesture and credit to them to try and resolve what is *their* issue. However that gesture can be refused and an insistence that the contract remains in force be made.
Good luck to all involved, seems to be a mess that could cost a company massively and ultimately put jobs at risk, fair play to anyone who accepts their offer too.
derp1664
25 Nov 16#295
Just to add to the ambiguity in this scenario though; technically you never own any games purchased on Steam (3rd party keys included) you are merely leasing the use of it until Steam or the developer decides you are not entitled to it anymore.
Not saying what you said is wrong ... but it's far from black and white

25 Nov 16#294
Although I sympathise with Game Republic's situation and wish them no misfortune, I think they're taking a serious risk requesting Valve to revoke the redeemed keys. They should seriously consider legal advice and perhaps it could set a precedent for future digital sales contracts? I didn't purchase a copy so I have nothing to lose or gain, but the goods were dispatched and the consumer is in the right.

Here's a.... brief version of "the law":
In stores:
If an item is priced incorrectly on the shelf, or scans at the wrong price at the till, retailers are under no obligation to honour it, under the Sale of Goods Act. They can offer the item at the correct price or refuse your money and withdraw the product from sale.
If a pricing mistake is not noticed and the customer pays for an item at the reduced cost, the purchase is considered a legally binding contract between the retailer and the customer. The shop has no legal right to claw back any money if it later realises there has been an error.
Online:
The situation is not as clear-cut online.
The legally binding contract is complete when a retailer accepts an order. However, acceptance does not necessarily happen at the point of order. Even the confirmation email may not be an acceptance. Some retailers reserve the right to cancel an order up to the point of delivery. It is therefore important to carefully check the retailer’s terms and conditions (which must be available on their website) and emails – if a retailer simply acknowledges an order, there may be no contract at that point.
According to Screwfix’s terms and conditions on its website this week, it only accepts orders once it has delivered the goods. It says the processing of a payment and acknowledgement of an order does not constitute a legally binding contract.
As with in-store purchases, once a customer has received their order a retailer generally has no right to claw back any money.
I'd think anyone wishing to kick up a fuss over this will likely get their way.

We all enter these obvious price mistake rushes knowing the risks, so I am not bitter about anything (except maybe that even with the discount voucher their prices are still way off being competitive  ). However I would like to understand more on exactly how the activated keys are being revoked for my personal knowlege about what is actually legal when such events arise, and what exact reason is being used to revoke a seemingly finished contract of supply an item for a given price well after the item has been supplied and used.

I'm not a lawyer, so here's my amateur analysis.
Either there was a contract or there was not.
1. There was a contract.
If there were a contract, the contract would be governed by its terms, in accordance with local law (in this case, which is dictated by European Directives). The terms do not allow either party to withdraw from the contract.
So I presume they're relying upon...
2. There was never a contract.
If they're saying there was never a contract, they'll need to say why. Because it sure looks like there was one... They advertised a game at 80% off during Black Friday, while they were selling other games at up to 90% off; they took our money; they thanked us for our order; they issued us with keys; etc.
Now, one can still argue that there was no contract in some circumstances. For example, where it was always obvious to all parties that it was a mistake.
Was it always obvious that £13.99 was a mistake? Are they sure the courts would agree with them on that? £0.01, perhaps, but 80% off, on the biggest sale day of the year? I wouldn't be so sure.
Chanmeister
25 Nov 161#283
It's not a perfect comparison because you put it up for an auction and had to settle with the ended amount. If you had set a "Buy it now" price to £1 and still posted the item then it would be a fair comparison.
Moonky
25 Nov 163#282
Well that didn't pay me, this does
Sales periods are prone for price errors and yes the company is at fault for it but it's probably not all down to Games Republic for the revoke decision, as I said it's likely down to 2K games.

The discount code for compensation is pathetic really. even with the code they provided I can get it cheaper elsewhere without using a code so why would I give them my money?? End of the day I bought a item and they took it off me that's breaking the law and it's terrible customer serivce. whoever made the mistake has made the decision to put that price on and people paid money for it and they then realise it's a mistake and think it's okay to take it back from us?? no no and no
psykix
25 Nov 161#273
I'm pretty amazed that they are allowed to remove something from you once the transaction is complete.
Imagine going to a store, buying a game, and then they come knocking on your door asking for it back.
It's poor show really. Weighing up my options at the moment.
I sold a Blue Microphones Mic on ebay this week - I was amazed that it went for £1 as only one person bid on it. I also only charged £3 for delivery, and delivery actually cost me £4.45, not including actually going to the post office! I still posted it. It's called honouring a transaction.
Maybe they could learn something.

25 Nov 161#277
Yes they can, it's not really nice to do it but it's within their rights to do it. Think of it like this, a game is broken and you ask said store for a refund (most can't do it once it's been activated but some do). In this example they are within their rights to revoke the purchase from you as you've had the money back.
Honestly this just sounds like they are getting flack from 2k games about it so they've had no choice but to revoke the codes. Either that or they can't afford to pay the publisher back the losses, depends on how many copies they sent out to people really.
Working for another company myself I know price errors can occur and in some cases publishers/retailers will honour the price. Just comes down to whether or not the publisher is willing to do it.
GRPaul
25 Nov 16#276
I understand frustration and bitterness because of this situation, but with all due respect, it isn't a good comparison. We are doing what we can to compensate our mistake - every consumer can keep two games that came free with a purchase (Anomaly 1&2) and received 25% discount code on any title in our store.
I understand that for many it could felt short of expectation, but we had to correct this price error.

Just think, this is probably the most amount of revenue they've ever generated in one day. Record number of new users. Record number of site visits. A fair few of those would return to buy games in the future. They've certainly got their name out there.
They could just cut their losses and treat it as marketing costs? But instead they're deciding to break the law and shatter their reputation in the process.

Anybody like my email to them about it all
Hello I received an email from you stating that the Civ 6 game I paid for is being taken away from me because you made an error. Well I'm sorry but you can't do that. Firstly the law states that all items must be given to if the customer has paid which I did and secondly your terms and conditions don't state that if you make a error you can remove the game from my account. That is not fair at all.
I am not happy at all and it is a disgrace that you take the game from my account and refund me without telling me first about it.
I ended up staying 3 hours to purchase this game because your site was not working properly.
And then you take away the game from me.
Absolutely terrible customer service.
The 25 % discount you sent me is simply a bribe to make us pay more than what I originally paid for.
As a company you should honor the price that was paid for as firstly it's the law and secondly it's giving customer service to the customer.
I hope you see sense and you will get in touch with me so we can resolve this I a good customer service way
Kind regards

Looks like a good background for a lawsuit. If case would be opened in court they would have to pay costs what at the end would cost a lot more. It is funny that T&C of companies works in both ways. If Court agrees that it is fair for company to not accept returns if buyer makes a mistake it should allow also for buyer to not return key if mistake happened on sellers side.

I'd never use GamesRepublic again. First time I used them was a few weeks ago, I bought a game and automatically assumed it'd be redeemable on Steam, silly me. So when I notice it's not redeemable on Steam I contacted them and asked if I could refund it, hadn't even downloaded the game or used any keys. They ignored my email until I contacted one of the staff on reddit and eventually, they replied with basically "no."
Sure it was my own fault for not checking first but a bit of compassion wouldn't go amiss, especially since I didn't even download the game. Oh well, crap company anyway.

Hi McShane1 - I checked your support ticket. It seems that our support team, because you downloaded the key, as an exception offered you a refund in GR Credits, that you could freely spend on other games in our store. Offer is still valid, so if you wish, please contact our support again.

So what part of your terms and conditions lets you remove a valid purchase from a customer? It being a price error on your behalf doesn't stop it being a legitimate legal purchase. According to your terms under the payment/delivery section you're obligated to provide what was purchased. There is nothing in your terms that says you're allowed to remove things from peoples accounts unless they request a refund.
" (a) purchase shall be deemed made by the Parties upon recording the payment of End User at the Company’s account," " The Company is obliged to enable mentioned download link to the fully paid Application" and that "all payments for the Applications are not refundable" Payment has been taken. The purchase is complete. You have to honor it.

See you created your account today so are you geniune or are you a fake?

As you noticed the price for recently released Civilization VI Deluxe Edition was really low. Unfortunately, it was too good to be true. The discount for Civilization VI Deluxe Edition was a price bug on our side and the deal is no longer available. We will contact people who bought the game via e-mail regarding their orders with further details.

What I been told by a couple of people is Steam only revoke keys if they are asked by the Publisher..
A friend bought a cheap key for Dirt 3 and the key was removed as Codemasters said the keys were stolen and the game was removed.
However this is a different scenario and the keys are not stolen - So I believe they can't do anything and Steam have probably told them it is their mess up..
Either way the consumer gets screwed out of getting the game cheap, and individually we lose a game most of us wouldn't purchase unless it came under £20 anyway.. Or Games Republic lost potentially thousands.. If they are selling the keys at realistically a lose of probably £5/£6 a key then over 500 orders which is potentially how many bought the game although I reckon it could be more than that - Games Republic have lost about £2500 - £3000 realistically.
Personally they should honour it as it would be good press and people will see them in good light - If they get all the keys revoked the backlash could be huge for them and the reputation hit could send them out of business.
Zafir to bsmaff
25 Nov 161#235
As an FYI, probably more people than that bought keys since it was also all over reddit and Neogaf, plus it was tweeted by some sites. Also, the official online game sellers(ie the ones that aren't just getting keys from cheaper region retail copies like cdkeys) generally have about 30%ish margin, so they're losing more than just £5 each. There's a reason GMG codes never went above 30% and most of them were 20-25%.
I never saw it being honoured just because I don't think they're a big enough company to eat the loss. Frankly the loss could sent them out of business far faster than any perceived loss of sales because of people holding a grudge.
Though if I'm being honest, I think you overestimate how many people would just not buy from them because they decided to not honour a significant price mistake. If they do a good deal on another game which isn't a price mistake, I'm sure people wouldn't bat an eyelash at using them again. Hell, even if there was another price mistake I'm sure most people would gamble all over again. That's just the life of a hukd dweller. :P
On header says up to 90% off, but this is not error prices?

Dear Redditors,
As you noticed the price for recently released Civilization VI Deluxe Edition was really low. Unfortunately, it was too good to be true. The discount for Civilization VI Deluxe Edition was a price bug on our side. We're really sorry, but we need to cancel orders for Sid Meier's Civilization VI - Deluxe Edition. If you bought the game, your money for the order will be transferred back to your bank account within the next few days. If you already activated the game on your Steam account, the game will be deactivated and removed from your account soon.
We're really sorry about the whole situation. During such huge sales like Black Friday, where we have so many discounted games, such mistakes sometimes just take place. As a small form of compensation for the situation, any person who bought the game will receive from us a 20% discount code for the next purchase on Games Republic and they will be able to keep bonus Anomaly 2 game on their accounts.
If you have any question, please DM me our write on [email protected]

I hope you guys are right, but really I just see them directly talking to steam and pleading for them to the revoke the keys. My guess is steam will comply and then what can we actually do even if it's against some rules here?

If it were a physical game, the contract would become binding once the game was dispatched.
I'd assume as its a digital game, which is effectively dispatched instantly, the contract is instantly binding?
bomberman1
25 Nov 161#225
Under UK law I thought they couldnt legally revoke a sale either, no matter what there EULA states
Never seen steam revoke keys like this before, keys are normally only revoked by the publisher for fraudulent purchases not misprices
bsmaff
25 Nov 16#222
I thought legally they aren't allowed to do this..
Once a transaction has been confirmed and money taken they don't have a leg to stand on..

I emailed their Customer Services this morning but so far no reply and they took the money and confirmed the order
If they don't supply the game then I suggest mass negative Trust Pilot to take their rating down to 1 star. If a site can list a game cheap, take money then cancel it whenever they refuse to honour it then they cannot be trusted
mchairmaster to Danglos
25 Nov 161#221
I understand where you're coming from but in this case I don't agree. I know we spent hours to get this price but that's a clear indication it was a misprice, we all knew it was. They don't really have a choice but to pull it or face heavy losses. It sucks that we all wasted our time though

True steam keys can still be cancelled even after activation my guess is there trying to revoke all the licences sold
If they've snatched back keys before use no reason they wouldn't surely they cant have sold that many wouldn't they have ran out of keys in their system, with their god awful checkout last night cant imagine that many orders went through
bomberman1

The big mystery is what will happen to the keys which have been activated.
If their system cannot identify which users have viewed the key they will have to issue everybody a refund.
If Games Republic submit a revoke list to Valve I don't see what grounds they have to remove the game. They can't really claim the price error resulted in a fraudulent purchase, surely Valve would take the side of the consumer?
I dread to think how much it cost them, 500 copies at a £25 loss would be £12500.

Success. Taken me about 4-5 hours.
Here are the tips I picked up on route. I'm sleepy, Im sorry theyre not written up all that well, or if any turn out to be inaccurate. feel free to correct me.
Most of these revolve around the fact that you need to each thing one at a time and to WAIT between page loads. Don't be clicking buttons a ton of times.
So go and get a cup of tea, and put on some tunes, because you'll need to be patient and persevere. no point getting worked up!
Expect cart-add / product page / transaction pages to fail many, many times.
Expect pages to take 5-15 minutes to load.
Expect pages to fail. Error 500. No response etc.
Expect CIV to disappear from the cart page, and to have to repeat the steps to add it.
General rules on refreshing:
-If a non-transaction page stops loading (no animated swirling icon indication on your browser), refresh.
-If a non transaction page is loading but nothing has changed/appeared on the screen yet, refresh after 5 mins.
-If a (non transaction) page is loading and has already partially loaded (wire frame stuff appearing but buttons/info missing), leave it for 15 minutes before trying a refresh. It looks like nothing is happening, but it almost certainly is. You can, however, keep trying in other browsers:
Multiple Browsers:
-Use one GamesRepublic tab per browser. Don't use multiple tabs in the same browser for anything other than refreshing the product page. The site throws an error if it detects a product has been added twice. I had one Chrome, one Firefox, one Internet Explorer, which I used when trying to open the product page, cart page, account page. This method also means you can try to open a different account in each browser.
Registering a GamesRepublic account:
-Register an account before adding the game to the cart. This is not absolutely necessary, but because the site is liable to fail quite a few times, with different errors produce able during cart-adding AND during registration, asking it to do two things at once is asking for more trouble.
-Note your password and login details in notepad, so you have them handy during the whole process. You don't want to have to request a reset.
-If a Captcha times out and prompts you again during registration, before the GamesRepublic loading bar completes and confirms success, refresh the whole page. (I'm not 100% but I believe that the captcha is required to work the first time for registration to be successful. Perhaps someone else will confirm)
Keep your email open in another window.
You will probably receive the 'Welcome to Games Republic' email long before the GamesRepublic page has updated to confirm same. The simply just close the GR tab and use the confirmation link in the email to return to the site, which will prompt you to log a password. Make sure to remember to copy/paste the email confirmation link, if you were using a non-default browser to register.
-Once you have entered a password on GR, you might be stuck waiting for that 'page 3 of 3' to load. So use the same tactic again - use the next email from GR; 'Registration Complete!' as confirmation that you are logged on, and go straight to the product page.
-When you return to GR, you may be showing as logged out (with 'Log in' appearing at the top). However, as long as you are in the same browser you used to register and to confirm registration, you are actually logged in, and shouldn't be prompted when you go to your cart.
Adding to cart:
-You can use this direct link to get the page. Remember rules on refreshing. http://gamesrepublic.com/game/strategy,sid-meiers-civilizationr-vi---digital-deluxe,11019.html
-Once you hit Add to Cart, wait. Press it ONLY ONCE, deliberately so you know you've done it. Your click will register. Dont hit it again, dont refresh, or it will throw you an error.
It can take 5-10 mins for it to change to 'loading', and again for the item to appear in your cart.
Cart and Payment
-You can click on CHECKOUT, in which case observe the 'deliberate click + patience' rule, or you can now just open this link in a new tab. Either way, if it doesnt fail straight away, wait for the page to load!
If it hasnt appeared in the cart, use the product page link and try again. https://gamesrepublic.com/Cart
-I recommend using Paypal. This worked for me on the second attempt.
Thank You for completing your order 13.99£
You will be prompted to wait on this page for your key(s) to appear. It took about 45 minutes for me.
Even when prompted 'Now you can download your games', the buttons took many minutes to respond. I kept being bounced back from 'Do you want your keys now?', even when i selected Yes.
But just press and wait
I've been trying since the deal was posted. Was close many times on the proceed to payment screen, but no luck :disappointed:
Link is now dead.

I was looking for LGA2011-3 CPU because I got Asus X99-Deluxe for silly price today but nothing was in a good price so I bought this one (i7 4790K) to trade in to CEX and to get something from them.
There was only 1 available today from marketplace seller and fulfilled by Amazon so was pointless to post a deal.
It has been shipped so hopefully I will get it today. If anyone is looking for a CPU I recommend CEX.
They do not have good prices but 2 years warranty is nice for CPU.
Of course better to pay with vouchers bought from HUKD (saving of 20%)
BTW: I never buy directly from marketplace sellers if order is not fulfilled by Amazon (too many scammers recently).

Hi all, if anyone has bought this and not going to register the code then I would be interested in purchasing one for my son as he is looking for this game, a long shot I understand but worth a try as I cannot access the site and been trying for the last hour, thanks Daz.

I didn't get that. You could try looking at https://gamesrepublic.com/user/mygames to see if it shows anything in progress, but I'm not sure if anything will show up there before the order is fully processed. If and when it does go through, you should get an email though (with the same link).

So, I saw the deal shortly after it was posted, site was already slowing down, managed to register shortly after half past, managed to pay via paypal, eventually, and... an hour (!) later, it actually went through (that's when the paypal confirmation email and a confirmation email from the site arrived). I was then able to get the key and activate it on steam.
So if you're waiting... it might actually go through.

It doesn't say in the description that it includes Civ 6 so its most likely just a mix-up.
Opening post

Pretty sure your keys will be safe now
Speaking to the legal department where I work end of the week, if they remove the game from my account then I will start legal proceedings, if I have a case.
I still think its shocking that they would be allowed to take it back from those that have redeemed already. Its like me buying something from a high street shop in the sale and them knocking on my door demanding it back because they sold it at the wrong price!
And for any criticism of Games Republic for understandably looking to revoke the keys after payment, that criticism should equally go to Valve/Steam who allow it.
But yes, the only revoking I've seen is from the GR account - not from steam itself. So if you didn't redeem the key it's gone
Carry on as you were
Maybe I'm just being optimistic (I've put my steam into offline mode for at least one game of it).
It does seem mad that they've refunded everyone before 2k has approved the revokes

Unless they find out the Games republic stole the keys I dont see who was defrauded in this case.
the best thing would be steam not allowing them to rewoke the game and us being refunded, holy crap
All the best,
Games Republic Team
Not saying what you said is wrong ... but it's far from black and white
Sales periods are prone for price errors and yes the company is at fault for it but it's probably not all down to Games Republic for the revoke decision, as I said it's likely down to 2K games.
GRPaul - you're not handling this very well at all.
I understand that for many it could felt short of expectation, but we had to correct this price error.
Wouldn't wanna be that guy right now...
If even 10 more people write a bad review that'll be their trust rating down the crapper
They could just cut their losses and treat it as marketing costs? But instead they're deciding to break the law and shatter their reputation in the process.
I think a lot of you guys are really overestimating how big the company probably is.
Whether it's right, wrong or against the law that they're trying to get their money back, I can totally see why they're doing it. I doubt you'd be happy if you lost thousands over night.

I think TBH you would need alot of legal quotes to even get a semi response.. They will ignore every email about it and brush it under the carpet till it goes away.
*Also it is honoured not honored we aren't American
So either way if they are based in the EU then it will mean law will def be our side..

Would be very interesting to see where this stands from a legal point of view.
Either way I expect they will lose a ton of future business because of this.
Asking because I want to be sure that my Steam account will not be flagged because of your pity mistake.
All the best,
Games Republic Team
Edit : Naaa, scrub that idea if they're pulling them
Sure it was my own fault for not checking first but a bit of compassion wouldn't go amiss, especially since I didn't even download the game. Oh well, crap company anyway.
Are you going to get the games removed from Steam if already activated like you stated?
See you created your account today so are you geniune or are you a fake?
As you noticed the price for recently released Civilization VI Deluxe Edition was really low. Unfortunately, it was too good to be true. The discount for Civilization VI Deluxe Edition was a price bug on our side and the deal is no longer available. We will contact people who bought the game via e-mail regarding their orders with further details.
I still have the game in my account.

Who knows what will happen :/
I'd assume as its a digital game, which is effectively dispatched instantly, the contract is instantly binding?
Never seen steam revoke keys like this before, keys are normally only revoked by the publisher for fraudulent purchases not misprices
Once a transaction has been confirmed and money taken they don't have a leg to stand on..
I might be wrong but I am going to look into this.
If they don't supply the game then I suggest mass negative Trust Pilot to take their rating down to 1 star. If a site can list a game cheap, take money then cancel it whenever they refuse to honour it then they cannot be trusted
I guess it was too good to be true
If they've snatched back keys before use no reason they wouldn't surely they cant have sold that many wouldn't they have ran out of keys in their system, with their god awful checkout last night cant imagine that many orders went through
If their system cannot identify which users have viewed the key they will have to issue everybody a refund.
If Games Republic submit a revoke list to Valve I don't see what grounds they have to remove the game. They can't really claim the price error resulted in a fraudulent purchase, surely Valve would take the side of the consumer?
I dread to think how much it cost them, 500 copies at a £25 loss would be £12500.
if i click Civ on the page that was open it shows up but says Transaction was cancelled
sorry for you guys :disappointed: in was a painful night....
That blue bar is burnt into my retinas :disappointed:
Basciallly I cant see it in basket but it is still showing 13.99 total to pay. I added another game for £0.29 hoping that might fix it and total now £14.28. It seems it will let me proceeds and pay - if i do any chance i'll get civ?
"The service is unavailable."
But just press and wait
good luck guys.

Nvm getting error adding to cart, I'm off
Link is now dead.
Always seems to happen to me with these deals, I'm always one of the few who simply can't get their order through no matter what.
no amount of discount is worth that much pain and the deal says its on till the 29th.
A bit of disappointment (LG G5) and few bargains (DA:Inquisition GOTY for £5, CIV VI Deluxe for £13.99, i7 4790K CPU for £51 and few more things). It was a good night.
Time to go .Good night everyone and hope you get your keys
just have some paitence
Been waiting ages now...
So if you're waiting... it might actually go through.
but its activated... finally..!
such a great deal, hope you manage to "get it" tonight too! took two hours nearly for me (and i already had an account set up)
right time for bed, long day at work tomrorow.!
EDIT: Gone through, but with a scary as hell "Service unavailable" just before an email arrived! Now to just get the code from the website...
ive got both edge and chrome pages up hahah
You can access your code straight after purchase.
And it shows "transaction in progress". I have been waiting over 20 minutes and it still says the same thing. Haven't been charged on paypal nor did i get any email. Ridiculous...
Edit: Patience is rewarded!
Third time lucky :stuck_out_tongue:
Thank you.. Biggest bargain of Black Friday.
i'm about to "get it" before i go to bed!! YEEESS!!!
Oh thank God. I can sleep now
Thank You for your purchase
Your transaction is being processed now. It may take a few minutes. Please, keep this page open in your browser.
"Dear Citizen! Thank you for your purchase at Games Republic.
Anomaly 2 FREE
Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI - Digital Deluxe 13.99£ "
Night guys.
Edit: got the key, reedemed. Thanks all
Since everything is slow just be patient. After hitting get it and confirming the warning about a refund no longer being possible, my key was all X's for about 90 seconds before it auto refreshed to show the key
Imagine they'll either honor or end up refunding. Take advantage while you can then :P
i seem to rememebr last time i used these guys (for a free anomoly korea code) it was very slow too..
YES !

30 minutes well spent. Thanks for the heads up.
Edit: Just confirming this as working. Got the key 2 minutes after paying via VISA. Didn't want to risk paypal in case they wanted ID or some other crap.
Very happy I did not go through with buying this on release.
Numerous people on reddit have gotten keys and confirmed it's Civ VI Deluxe Edition
