A PlayStation 4 console for one hundred and twenty nine beans.
Yes, I know, you're going to rip me apart. But here it is anyway. Go get em' tigers.

I just can't see how £130 for a grade C console is a good deal, especially with Black Friday just around the corner and brand new ones recently selling for £150. £20 more I know, but why be willing to invest in a console only to stop just short of getting the best quality one?

I would recommend holding out, you may find Black Friday deals on the slim - £200 (maybe?!) with a game. I wouldn't recommend taking up one of these - some of the comments on here are likely to be very accurate. Would expect heavily scratched and well used machines at this grade.

I can't help but wonder if Game sell these consoles at a grade higher than what they buy them at... I bet they do.

seriously I need advice. have people bought pre owned before? my son wants a ps4 (his first console) for xmas is this worth buying or hold out for new?

You kind of missed the sell off a few weeks ago where they were £149.99..
Does it have to be PS4? Xbox one have been sold stupidly cheap recently.
You could always buy it and return it if it's awful condition?

Personally I'd suggest holding out for a new one. BF and the xmas sales are just around the corner, and shops are getting rid of these models to make way for the Slim and Pro versions.
The original PS4 model is a very reasonable size.

If £129.99 is really stretching your wallet/your absolute maximum spend, then this might be a good option for you. From previous experience, Game's 'C' grade consoles can vary from looking like the dog's been at them, to pretty good condition.
If you can go another £50, then I'm absolutely convinced you'll be able to get a new (old model) PS4 in the Black Friday sales with a game bundled in - something you wouldn't get with this.

To anyone wondering about this...
A lot of people are reporting that their original console is starting to break down, which isn't unusual. Most consoles last 2-3 years (Usually until the warranty ends, surprise, surprise) and then start to break down, over heat, not work etc. Most of these pre-owned consoles will be nearing the end of their life span.
Personally, I'd just suggest you buy a Ps4 bundle with the games and sell the games. I got the Tesco deal for £270~ and ended up selling the 4 games for around £130-140 during an Ebay Fees sale. Ended up getting the slim version brand new for around £150~, so I can't exactly say buying a pre-owned older model is worth it.
Just wait. You can get the slim 500gb for £199 from Grainger Games. A superior, cooler, smaller model for an extra £60 isn't asking much, and that's not even on offer.

ps4 slim will be between 150 and 190 during black friday EASILY. 129 for a potentially battered console is okay if you a stretched but the likelihood of slims going sub 200 is highly likely. for example 210 with a couple games to trade in would equate to 160-70. id say hold out for black friday. im just hoping pros go sub 309 but im struggling to see it

Dean2k14
18 Nov 161#30
Well one can hope lol I just cant do it for a grade c condition it will be battered or missing official parts plus the slim plus a 40 quid game is 219 at the minute so maybe that will drop lower
Dean2k14
18 Nov 16#28
These will very likely come back down to 149.99 for black friday next week or at lease im hoping they do as im not giving my lad a grade c console for christmas
oUkTuRkEyIII to Dean2k14

Doubt it, the reason they were £150 a month ago was because Sony wanted rid of them so that the slim would become the main console. Not many retailers will stock the C chassis.

Can't believe people don't know what to expect when buying a Grade C console. Seems simple enough to me. If you want something some sweaty greasy kids had bouncing around in his ruck sack with his roll ups & his Monster energy drinks for the last 2 years, buy one of these. If you don't get a new one. :stuck_out_tongue:

Grade c is a console with no box. May include some minor scratches, but if a grade c had a box, it'd probably be a grade a because of it.

I'm guessing all 3 year-old PS3s would be considered Grade C with that insta-scratch gloss panel.
