The new Pokemon sun and moon fan edition still available for preorder. Most places has sold out. Amazon had them back in for preorder today at £45 but sold out within an hour I think

Nintendo's online service is free.

20 Nov 16#38
Well it's a service that has been paid for, and I did already mention it's probably in the terms that they can do what they like... But I'm not going to get into this argument as IANAL.
Illusionary
20 Nov 16#37
I can't see any reason why. Access to online services is a privilege, not a right,
rtbsghgfh
20 Nov 16#36
I would hope so, if they didn't I think a lot of people would have a good case taking Nintendo to court (despite probably having terms of service to say they can do what they like)

Plenty of people who got their pre-orders early were banned, which in my opinion is unfair. I've even heard reports of those with review copies being banned!

I heard that if you have proof of purchase you can contact Nintendo and get them to un-ban you?
StrifeyWolf
20 Nov 16#34
No it has not, they can access online features in the game, but they are forever banned from eshop and other online features.
And you need a second 3ds to even think about doing the workaround.

It appears that the person above stole it; region-switching, while still not completely above-board, is comparatively much more benign.

Not sure how that guy got it but my mate switched his eshop to Australia and bought it the other day

That still doesn't justify piracy. That aside, you own it how, when the game's not released until next Wednesday?

17 Nov 16#27
Don't be so quick to judge i own the original cart and got banned the same as 100's of others, which once i provided proof of receipt was removed

The Pokemon games tend to really hold their price. Especially special editions (even if it is just a tin case). So I'm planning on playing it for a couple months then trade it in when the switch comes out
Illusionary
17 Nov 16#25
Ah, but you have stolen the game, then? You must be very pleased with yourself.

Nope not what i did

This would be the reports of people buying a new 3DS, 'injecting' those details into the banned one, then returning the new one, I guess? Given the implications for the subsequent legitimate purchaser, that#s even worse than just pirating the game. :smirk:

I'm enjoying reading the tears around the pirated version of this today.
Nintendo has released the ban hammer on anyone that has played the pirated version online, Gamefaqs and /v/ have imploded.

Cheap for the fan edition till you realise the fan edition is just a metal tin... pretty pathetic. I'll stick with my £30 amazon order. £5 for a tin.. Not even any roses or quality streets in it.

After SimplyGames massively 'messed up' everyone's orders including mine for the World of Final Fantasy pre orders, I certainly won't be pre ordering anything from the company again! I'd advise going elsewhere to pre order...

Don't think anyone really knows how HUKD works! What's hot for some people is not necessarily hot for others. Some vote hot if it's the cheapest price at the time. Some vote hot if they think the cheapest price is actually a good price.
And excitement for Switch? Yes, definitely. Certainly more excitement than there was for the WiiU. Admittedly more excitement when Switch is looked at as a portable rather than home console. It will blow the Vita out of the water, let alone the 3DS.

good price. lame payment options. it says "pay by paypal OR via bank card" - when i go to choose bank card i put in all my details but i cant proceed UNLESS i set up a paypal account. super lame. no sale will stick with my nintendo store order.
imsomethingyournot to Cherried
16 Nov 161#9
To pay by card you just have to create an account with SimplyGames and then it won't force you to use PayPal, so in effect they don't have a guest checkout option unless it's via PayPal. Make an account and I bet your bottom dollar that you don't have an issue
