I have one of these but the 4K model Ambilight, and paid twice the reduced price, then purchase this model for the bedroom due to its capabilities, so anyone with the opportunity to purchase one of these please do so as you'll regret it.
It's Android and Kodi runs brilliantly for movies sports TV shows and box sets all free.
Sat socket too which will give you Freesat channels as well as Freeview

£114 in my local Asda, so tempted as a bedroom upgrade.

Have been looking in and around Edinburgh to no avail - called 6 stores and none have it. They all seem to stock the 4100 series. Has anyone managed to find this deal in Scotland? I also cannot seem to find the same model for sale on other web-retailers. Looks likely to me that it has been discontinued and ASDA are removing any old stock...

I've exchanged mine for another and same problem - loud buzzing on standby!

A heads up....Asda have reduced the 32" to £114 in store. Total steal at this price.

Just bought the 40PFS5501 in Basingstoke Asda for £199.
Superb price.

Purchased last Wednesday evening, in Asda Ardrossan, it was the last one they had. Although they had loads of 32" for £149.

Twas on the shelf in asda York at 229. Chap scanned in the bar code and came up at 149. Alas none on hand / in stock. Sad times!

Picked up the 40PFS5501 at my local Asda. For £199 this really is exceptional value for money. Where else can you get a 40" LED decent brand TV that includes both Freeview HD & Freesat HD, is a decent SmartTV and includes a plethora or HDMI and USB ports as well as has built in WiFi, not to mention that it looks pretty smart and has a small footprint. Got to be the best TV buy this year by far. By the way the RRP is £399 and Argos currently sells it for £349.

Shame. Ive been able to pick up the 40" but its too big...

might hold onto for now i guess since i can return it within 28 days.

what date is your current firmware steev0? originally mine was April 2016 I think I tried updating an no new firmware was found. I played around with adb for a bit it would connect but showed device offline. I then went to general settings and reinstall tv after that I went settings/update software an I got an update dated 18th October. This only happened this morning so I don't if it was reinstalling the tv or if the firmware just got rolled out today.

Can't find any of these in the Birmingham/Black Country area. Shame, as I would have liked one for the bedroom. Heat for the OP for posting the deal in the first place!

My TV says the firmware is up to date yet it still won't install apks from unknown sources. Any tips plz?

got the 32" pleased with it so far had to update firmware then was able to run unknown sources I.e Mobdro etc

They told me to call back this morning, as I went last last night. They said I would get more help as the relevant department would be available.

None in Tamworth, and only one on display in Minworth. Asked for a price check but Asda assistant was unable to help, as there was no SEL ticket on shelf. Unbelievable. Obviously haven't got a search by description function, on there system.

I'm pleased that a few people have managed to pick these up. I didn't buy one myself as I have no need for another tv - hence the lack of evidence (didn't realise what a good deal it was until I looked into it after getting home).

I got the 40" today for 199 in Livingston. label said 299 woman scanned for me then price matched 199.

Currently in Doncaster store. Only display model available won't sell me it. Comes through the scanner at £199.

Got one today at asda bearsden. Was priced at £289 somehow but when lady checked price was £149.

I've phoned up 6 different stores in and around Glasgow and no one has any :disappointed:

There is a bigger one on offer at £199 but can't remember if they said that was the 40" or 50".

The 40 inch one would be great, are they also on offer ?

A friend of mine bought one of these last week in Asda Coatbridge.

Comes with Android, and more importantly Google Playstore, so popular media players can be downloaded and installed with minimum fuss.
