Unreal Tournament 2004 offers up the kill-or-be-killed experience of gladiatorial combat in 10 game modes - both team-based and "every man for himself" - which provide even the most hardcore gamer with palm-sweating challenges through unbelievably detailed indoor arenas and vast outdoor environments.
Face off to defend and attack fortified bases in the fan-favorite Assault Mode, and take team combat to the next level in Onslaught Mode, which brings vehicular combat into its own with a variety of land-, air- and space-based vehicles. Over 95 maps are available, including more than 45 brand new maps for all existing gameplay modes.

This and the rpg mod OMG I miss this game! I've already got a hard copy though but it's an amazing game still!
Best game ever. I remember playing this to the early hours of the morning. Loved it so much I ended up buying Radeon 9800pro so I could play on max settings.
This is one game I really wish they would do a remaster of.
if they made a remaster, it would sell bucket loads. i rekon most , if not all in this thread would buy it. myself included

Original Unreal Tournament was the game! Played it last night and it was as much fun as in 1999 when I got my hands on it for the first time. Total classic.

Brilliant game 2004 . Zero gravity made it even more fun with them maps
I loved both, both required SKILL to play compared to the arena FPSes of today. Look at CoD, ramp up the sensitivity and aim assist quikscope your way to high KD ratio, no wonder the kids love it.

Also...I think you can download the UT demo...and apply the official patch, think 436, and it turns it into the full game...for free.

Love this game and GOTY edition...CTF- Face was my favourite...playing on a nVidia Riva TNT with 16MB gfx ram and 56k modem with 200-300ms ping...you had to predict where the player your sniping will move to and shoot that area...and hope you get a head shot...with a ball mouse!
I wish COD and all other console FPS games had kb & mouse support...just can't play with a controller :-(
