OMG! Mediatek processor (I'm being sarcastic) Will get voted cold by the "Mediatek is still more clever than me" Snapdragon brigade. Scorchio from me.

Similar hardware to the K6000 Pro? (Android 6.0 (lollipop) with 1.3GHz MT6753 Octa Core processor and 3GB RAM +32GB ROM) which is great. I guess the MTK6753 of this phablet is the same?

Agreed. Mediatek phones definitely had problems a couple of years ago but their latest chips seem fine to me. In all likelihood the previous issues were more down to Chinese manufacturers getting to know how to make a bunch of components function as a coherent device. I've even found that GPS worked fine in the last few Mediatek phones I've tested. Albeit they were running 'Helio' chips.

Woah... seriously cheap. 'Tyrant gold' - there's a colour description I've not heard of before!
Anyone know if this is the usual setup where you can only have one SIM and a microsd card, or can you get both SIMs and the SD card all in at the same time?
skykid3
11 Nov 16#10
There are two slots for the SIM card, one slot can support the SD card.

I took it from the same question asked on gearbest, LINKY HERE :
Question: Good evening... where is the slot for the sd card??? or it uses one of the network chips slots??? please i am kinda confused abut that. Reply: Hello Yoshigo, There are two slots for the SIM card, one slot can support the SD card. Please kindly view this link : prntscr.com/cx0js6
I think they just used it as an example

Yet another Chinese phone with seemingly all the toys apart from NFC?
skykid3
11 Nov 16#15
Dont have this particular phone , but ITS EASY TO INSTALL PLAY STORE, on phones I have had in the past that required installing it
I think a lot of Chinese manufacturers elect to had Hotknot as opposed to NFC because its easier to install and considerably cheaper. I can't see it on this device though.
I'm not sure I would want to give my money to Gearbest now for a device which mostly likely won't be delivered until well after Christmas.

This processor is absolutely fine for general mobile phone use, it will probably be slower for intensive gaming, but will give it its best shot.
I have a phone with a snapdragon 820 processor and was underwhelmed at the improvement over the P8000 because the way people were talking down mediatek I was expecting the difference to be night and day.
If you're not a connoisseur/snob then go for this, it's a very good price for 3gb ram, 32gb rom/flash memory.
As always make sure it's meets your needs though, check that your network bands are supported. It has a 3000mah battery, which is okay but bear in mind that if you're moving up to this larger 5.5" screen it drains more battery quicker so you may get less screen on time than you think.
It has expandable storage which is a bonus too.

12 Nov 16#29
You don't really see NFC, and where you do I've read of issues with the manufacturer being unable to get certification and so it doesn't work anyway! May have to just make do with a contactless sticker inside your phone case a la Barclaycard.
Chinese phones (had a few still have one) get a make where you can get replaceable batteries and get 2 more they degrade very fast. cameras are never as good. mediatek always seem to suffer poor GPS although its a lot better than 3 years ago (still odd dropouts but 8/10 on point now) build quantity from Chinese manufacturing has come on lots
I doubt I'll get a mainstream UK phone again

Most xiaomi phones do not come with UK bands as they are made only for China . Only person without brain will buy phone with out UK bands.

Same here. Got mine from a UK distributor. Chunky but cheap and it works.
Another phone to avoid if you want a good-excellent camera to rival the one in your LG G2.
I repeat, none of these Chinese-sourced phones (except for a small handful) are anything special in the camera department.

Don't talk nonsense. Some don't work on a minority of UK bands.
Only person without a brain is you, because many have bought these phones & using them on UK networks & every one of them has more brains than you.
There are so many phones with proper UK bands. Why buy Chinese **** not made to work in UK. Just for commission people like you recommend rubbish here.

You're like a broken record. Did you forget you had already commented on this thread 2 hrs ago, whilst you were looking for more phone threads to criticise? So to summarise you consider lack of B20 to be "no UK bands" and people who buy them are brainless and people who post them are looking for commission and being paid to post? Oh and you continue to ignore the fact there are people using networks that mightn't need B20 and also neglect the fact that there's plenty of people who use them perfectly fine in UK.
Funny thing is that this phone has B20 support. So are you gonna criticise warranty, retailer or software next?

are you on commission from poundshop, Bm, primark and local booze shop Sam.
They are all local sellers. All the things they sell is approved to sell in UK otherwise they have to recall it. What guarantees you get with foreign seller apart from Paypal etc. Also some of these phones come with viruses to steal your personal details.
