is this better than a linx10?

This has twice the RAM and storage of the Linx 10, is the newer Cherry Trail Atom processor and dual boot OS options.
it's a z8300 chip, slightly better gaming performance than the venerable z3735 but very little real difference, though power demands should be lower and 4gb ram is very good for this price - my linx8 always struggled with the slightest multitasking.
anyone got info on how the storage is split ? i'd guess 30gb to each OS but again my linx8 ended up with storage problems in win10 while updating even with a big SD card in

The Z8300 is also capable of HEVC video playback that the Z273x series can't handle.

I'd be interested to know how the OSes on these Dual-Boot things are split too mind you?. :-)
As this would be shipped from Hong Kong would there not be the possibility of customs & VAT charges?

It's possible yeah, unfortunately! It depends what they declare any value to be and whether it's checked. As this is took out of the box, I'd say less chance than the original box version.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/visit?m=5&q=2536980 much better deal in my opinion, yes lower resolution but an actual warranty, better processor and comes with keyboard... No brainer especially when you read onda reviews online

I agree really. Shame no 4GB RAM.
Asides from the Surface 3, and the new Yoga Book it's a hard to find atom tablets with 4gb.
I think you can get the Asus t100ha with 4gb but not in the UK.
Thanks. Was not aware of that one. Not sure I can get past the low res screen. (After being spoilt with other devices)

I've a first gen Linx 10, which has been bricked by a windows update which did a firmware update (google it), you get no support from either Microsoft or the owners of linx.

Is that the same thing that happened to the Chuwi Hi10 tablet? There was a device driver automatic update that bricked a load of the chuwi tablets, I have one luckily I wasn't using it when they issued the update, they pulled it not long afterwards but some peoples got bricked tablets.

I can see this working as a Windows Tablet, but aren't there issues with Android and Atom chips, or has that been resolved?
The exact same thing happened to my linx 8 tablet and nothing that I have tried worked to get it to boot again. Ended up in the bin.

It can be fixed by reflashing the eeprom, details on the linxtablet forums, you will need a raspberry pi or a programmer, I cracked the screen on mine by opening it up incorrectly.
I bought a iPad mini 2 from Asda to replace it.

Getting £148.75 at checkout after deselecting two Insurances & choosing cheaper shipping

5 Nov 16#36
Price doesn't actually seem to include shipping unfortunately. When I attempt to checkout, it says:
Express Expedited - 4/5 Business days - £18.30
Postal Expedited - 6/10 Business days - £11.65
They also have an option to add tax and duty insurance for a tenner.
I bought it together with the keyboard and expedited DHL 3-7 day delivery and insurance for a total of £166.

I read in a review that there is an icon on the desktop to switch to android (which takes about 50 seconds apparently) and vice-versa (which takes about a minute to boot back to windows).
I also saw a screenshot on one of the websites of file explorer in windows saying that 25GB out of 60GB have been used. I'll try find it...
in the description it says sim card ?? does this mean I can stick a mobile broadband sim in it ?

I know this is an old thread and all, but I just got mine today. I didn't go for the DHL delivery as Gearbest contacted me saying that customs would have taxed this almost certainly so I went for the slower 7-10 days delivery.
As mentioned I received it today and didn't have to pay customs. The box came already opened, probably they wanted to change language or upgrade the OS, and it had a screen protector very nicely fitted.

Much better at Gearbest in my opinion where you still obviously risk to pay tax and duty, but at least it is cheaper: http://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_493892.html?wid=21
