Cold from me, Game emailed to state they no longer guarantee having stock so cancelled order. Lame Game!:disappointed:

Correct me if I'm wrong but clicked the link and it doesn't go anywhere, and seems to have been removed from GAME website now. I asked instore and apparently Game as a whole sold out on their second preorder (shipment due end of November) the day after release on both console and controller. Decided on release day that it might be a good idea to have that second controller. (fail ha!)

It is. And pressing the home button on the classic controller take you to the main menu, meaning you don't have to press the reset button on the console itself.

no you can't.
this thing has cable with plugs similar to Wii mote.
extension cables for it are £10 ash..definitely not £1.50
and will look horrendous with all those lumply plugs attach to each other.

You know that you can get an extension cable for the controllers for about £1.50 on eBay right?

Not sure if this has been posted as there is fair bit of chat going on, but you can use the Wii Classic Controller as a controller on the mini nes :sunglasses:.

Just got mine through, turns out these are going for up to £40 on ebay.
Finding it hard to justify holding onto it and the console (£130) when prices are this crazy, even as a fan and casual collector.

That's amazing..you can buy a ps3 for that!

6 Nov 16#60
Those definitely look a lot nicer and more authentic than the one I featured. Never really been a fan of N64's alienfied controller.
that's the old days of Japan where people (kids) used to sat very close to tvs on floor and play games, not to mention tvs back then were mostly 20"..in Japan usually they used to be even smaller Tv so sitting close to small tv specially on the floor would justify having short cables for controllers.
but now in 2016,every one has large screen tvs and sit on a couch with a good distance so Nintendo's decision to make controller cords of this console so short is plain stupid and makes zero sense.
djaydearz
4 Nov 161#28
can you not buy an original nes for about 8 quid? these days? or are they considered "retro and vintage" and therefore are expensive?

For an unboxed console you're looking at around £60, higher or lower depending on condition.

£8? lol
in poor condition maybe £50 in good condition £100+ games also between £10 to hundreds..average £10-£30..

the article i posted above says:
That means the default controller that ships with the diminutive NES Classic is the shortest of all of Nintendo’s options. There’s a good reason for that, though, at least as far as we can tell. Unlike the hardware it mimics, the NES Classic has a reset button that lets players return to the system’s dashboard of games at any point; the function also suspends games without losing progress.
Why didn't they put a reset button on the controller??
That's third party and brandless so it could break in a matter of days, weeks or luckily, in a year. I bought a third party GameCube controller for £4.00 and it only lasted me for a few months. Screw that, I only buy official or from reputable third party companies.

This does not work with nes classic mini - it is not the same product.
Be aware that the cord on these are absolutely tiny. 3ft approx.
Spasho to lucifon
4 Nov 16#5
Noticed that from Nintendo of America's promotional video on YouTube. You'd think Nintendo would include a long cable considering the original NES controllers' length was pretty long too.
After all these years and the Chinese copycats somehow haven't released a Wii Classic Controller extension cord -- hell, they'd make so much money with it thanks to the Mini NES.

I cancelled my pre-order when I realised how short the cables are.it's just foolish.
I don't know what's wrong with Nintendo, sometimes they simply lack basic intelligence.
you either have to sit next to your tv or need to buy an extra long hdmi and put the console next to yourself on couch! and then there is the usb cable..it's just impractical

The 3rd party mentioned was in relation to the controller manufacturer, not the seller.
Amazon may well be selling it, but that item is not made by Nintendo and is likely the same as the ones you can buy on eBay for a couple of quid.
AnnaMak
4 Nov 16#42
it was amazon warehouse 'like new' condition, not 3rd party. 2 in stock unless sold already

skykid3 to Bolasie27
4 Nov 16#39
Dunno if its still the case but Japanese console's had short cables as they took it out, played with it, then it was put away when finished with, come to the West today and people virtually live on their couch and never put the console away..

Sadly that would not work as the gamecube ports are different to the Wiimote plug.
Kinda. You can use a Wii to USB port but not sure it works lagless.

I'm just gonna wait for the whole Mini NES console + controller hype to settle down and then pick one up on the cheap. £7.99 is cheap enough as it is for an official and brand new Nintendo controller but wouldn't make much use of it right now.

You can use it on Wii and Wii U, If you have homebrew browser on your wii with emulators you can use it on them too
Opening post
Posted a new thread so it's noticed as it was amongst the previous nes mini post.
Hope this helps someone!
Will tide me over until the wireless 3rd party one is available!
