May sound a daft question, but what's the difference between a gaming headset and a normal headset (excluding the microphone of course)?

Where did you get the dsp wireless bit from in your description?

Got these the last time they were up on HUKD. Amazing quality for the price, heat added

Anyone know how these compare to the official ps4 headset? I'm thinking of getting one for my son and don't mind paying double for the official headset if it's much better than this?

Apologies, they slap the Pro name on everything these days. Will update
Ordered thanks. I too hope these will be fine for an Xbox One (newer controller with the 3.5 mm jack) although almost all references I've found online dont mention Xbox compatibility at all!!

It's because these headset came out before the 3.5mm update to xbox one.
They've not have their compatibility updates on every sale page. They'll work as they are a standard 3.5mm jack on the cable.

@ Mbeeching, maybe you need to make it clear that this is a review for the pro version not this version (as Pyrotechu mentions). Not that I want to undo my purchase, you should be aware that others are buying on the strength of the review you've posted.

That review is for the Pro version of this headset.

this works on xbox one if you have a 3.5mm jack in your tv/controller.

I find it hard to believe they rate the sound as highly as the V-Moda M-100 but for £20 they look like a steal

That's a pretty strong review! I was dilly dallying over getting headphones for my PS4, decision now made. Thanks to OP also.

The xbox one S has a 3.5mm jack port on the controller right? then nothing stopping this from working.
Reason why these don't list the xbox one is because the original controller didn't have a 3.5mm port on them. This released and hasn't been updated to mention it works on the newer controllers.

On my xbox1, bought new earlier this year, with controller which has 3.5mm socket fitted, these polk headphones work fine.
