John Lewis are price matching someone (no idea who) on the new Nowtv box with 4 months of movies. The normal price is £69.99, and the cheapest anywhere is generally £49-£55, so this is a really good price.

This is what I meant "We recommend that you use the power adapter and plug it into a power outlet. Although some TVs have powered USB ports, there may not be enough power for Fire TV Stick to work properly. Do no connect Fire TV Stick through an unpowered HDMI hub or switch, as this can affect the device's power consumption." - Amazon

It's not a deal if it's not in stock

FireTV sticks don't have a battery... there's nothing to charge.

Isn't a Amazon fire stick better

I think it's down to preference, fire stick does pretty much the same but it's easier to unplug and plug in elsewhere.. so if you watch a movie on it downstairs and get tired, take it upstairs and plug in up there.. without having to plug in to wall and mess with cables. However you have to charge the firestick as it doesn't charge whilst plugged in (HDMI doesn't charge - USB charges)

Would still take a Roku to over this, as I like to switch between Netflix, NowTv and Prime depending in whats out

I was actually considering getting a Roku for this very reason but is there a Roku box with the same functionality as this new Nowtv box?
We also already get Netflix through our Freesat box so it's probably not worth upgrading.

Hi, what's the difference between this and normal now to box? I have the normal for my daughters room and she really likes the box, her movies is coming to an end so need to renew that anyway, thanks very much x

They are already on there selling their student card holder codes for the £3 for 3 month offers..
Last month they sold the geekzone codes which then got cancelled a few days later, the negative feedback they got was great.

They are out of stock already..
Kind of makes it pointless to offer a price match promise if you have next to no stock to begin with.

Sadly there's a very good chance somebody's nabbed all the stock to sell on eBay. Hopefully a few folks benefited when it was available.

the live channels are also 720p HD instead of SD.
Plus, you can point the remote in virtually in any direction and the box will pick it up. I found last year's box was a pain in the ass for how specific you had to be with pointing it!!

Matching Sainsbury's I think.
My local one in Glasgow had a couple of these boxes on shelf at this price yesterday.
