It seems to me that you just can't win with laptop deals on HUKD. If you post something with 1-2 generation old processors the deal gets slated for not being the latest processor and when you do post something with the very latest chip somebody complains that you don't actually need something that powerful!

Cracking! I've been monitoring the deals on Currys.. kaby lake deal not available, difference is £500 + the £100 reduction. For 8GB RAM and 256GB storage extra, which can be upgraded anyway!
Ok kaby lake not a big deal in performance, but it does allow playing 4K netflix/youtube videos. And the touch screen is extra too (I think)
Ordered and heat! And I think the 3yr warranty extension is a must

I assume that this is a fake/joke entry and that I should be disappointed with myself for even trying to find this laptop? Well then I am suitably chastened .
True but
A. The link you provided is working thanks!
B. Kaby lake is only a minor update on the current Skylake CPUs. The next gen CPU is meant to be the major update.
C. B is very important I suppose
Thanks again!

This is a real good find! I'm a Mac user but had Dell XPS for work and they are great computers! My only thing is the higher models Dell don't offer the 1080p Matte display....why Dell? Most people buying these would trade that for the extra 3 hours battery!

25 Nov 16#24
Yeah I'd rather not have the touch and QHD, in return for more battery life. I wish it was as discounted on the other models.
Great deal but I can't handle carrying around a rose gold (aka pink) laptop.

I think rose gold is a poor description of the colour on Dells part. check out the videos

I bought a laptop from very in September... Ive since spend 14 phone calls, 3 web chats and 2 tweets trying to get sense out of them. Ive been hung up on numerous times and still do not know what has happened the £100 credit for Buy now Pay later. There was a late payment fee and interest applied in October, and iwas also a nightmare trying to explain to THEM that it was 12 months interest free... Seriously not worth the hassle!
Fair enough. But what I was talking about is pretty much the "Hybrid" model mentioned in your articles which is why I said that you don't "need" Kaby-Lake for 4K. So for those of us prepared to hack around (which I do anyway) we "might" be able to get it working. For the rest? As the article states:
And then there's the browser: 4K streaming only works in Microsoft Edge, because it's the only browser that supports PlayReady DRM. Basically, streaming 4K Netflix on a PC requires a CPU that's in barely any devices right now (desktop chips aren't expected until sometime in 2017), the latest version of Windows 10, and using an unpopular browser, making it a largely useless feature.
Who says DRM is bad for consumers, eh?

Haswell Refresh (Devils Canyon) offers an improved thermal interface between die and heatspreader, but yeah, I'd tend to agree. Since AMD tanked, Intel have been lazy. Nothing new since 2500k.

Netflix 4K streaming comes to the PC—but it needs Kaby Lake CPU
Kaby Lake CPUs also feature full hardware accelerated HEVC and VP9 decoding. The latter of which is used by YouTube.
