Exactly as it says. The boxes they use for delivery purposes are designed to take 5 packets of 10 pods each. This restriction only applies to postal orders. You can collect any multiple of 10 from the boutiques.

Hi,

Can anybody help? Trying to use third £25 voucher. Used the first two vouchers no problem. Have 60 capsules in basket (6 different flavours), but it won't allow me to proceed to checkout. Message says: "Please note that for packaging purposes the total number of capsules ordered must be a multiple of 50".

15p per mini cups of vile coffee that is nothing like cappuccino. After several attempts at trying to get a decent machine for making coffee at home I have plumped for a Melitta C1 and at a cost of just over £500 the coffee produced is well worth the expense. Using proper coffee and proper milk makes all the difference, plus you get your choice of bean and or ground not what's in the pod.

To make a latte with that layered effect, you pour steamed milk (less microfoam than say on a cappuccino) into a glass then slowly pour in your espresso (single or double shot). As it slowly slips past the microfoam, you'll see this layered effect. Bit like when a pint of Guinness has just been pulled. After it's been stood for a few minutes the espresso will usually have reached the bottom at which time you'll only have the frothed milk on top.

Some people stir both together prior to drinking in which case...no more layered effect. But it tastes as it should.

You can add a tablespoon of syrup if you'd like to recreate the flavoured lattes that they serve at $tarbucks/Co$ta etc.

I've programmed all mine to my cup size, what I do want to know though is all the pictures of latte's for this seem to have a creamy bottom, brown middle and creamy top, how do you do this, I just get brown bottom, creamy top.

Just a small refinement on this. Although it is absolutely correct that registering the machine to your newly created account and registering for the promo are entirely separate, you do not need to register the machine to your Nespresso Club account to claim the promo. You only have to register it for the promo. Useful if you want to claim and then give the machine to someone as a gift or re-sell it. The new owner can then register their machine to a Club account which they already have or newly create, and they can then get the benefit of the warranty and any new member offers.

Did you create a new Nespresso account, register your machine and then submit your receipt separately via this page:

https://nespressoukpromotions.com/Trade/MemberLookup?country=uk

Originally I made the mistake of thinking just by registering my machine, I would receive the £75 promotional credit but after receiving no email, I phoned Nespresso who pointed out that I needed to register for this promotion separately. Once I did, the first part of my credit was applied two working days later (with the weekend in between).

Although they do quote 'allow up to 10 days' for the credit to appear on your account, it might not be a bad idea to give them a call just to check if the delay is due to the date being cut off from your receipt or just them being busy?

The new member 150 capsule offer is for a specific selection of 15 'sleeves' of different capsules, pre-selected by Nespresso and viewable on the website.

Does anyone know how long Nespresso are taking in practice to credit the initial £25 credit and the later £25 credits given after the 1st / 2nd order ?

That would certainly be more practical.

I *think* that you can buy 1 each of 50 different capsules (for example) you just need to have a total capsule order that is divisible by 50 (50,100, 150 etc). No need to order a minimum of 50 of each. Hope this helps...
cheekster
7 Dec 16 1 #352
Normally they offer free delivery when you order at least 200 capsules. Perhaps that is waived as it's a welcome offer?

Must say I don't like the fact that you have to order a minimum quantity of 50 for any individual capsule and wanting home delivery. Phoned them up about this and only way to avoid it is to purchase them in-store. But you can't place an online order even to arrange click and collect. Just have to turn up and hope they have what you're after in stock at the time.

That's a lot of capsules to get through if it's one you've not tried before and end up not liking!

So, even after you've been notified via email to say that your application for the free promotional credit has been processed, you still have to wait up to a further 24 hours before you can use it?

Guess they really must be swamped by the sheer volume of applications that have to be process?!

I believe they have increased the amount of free credit for machines that include milk frothing capabilities this time round (think it was £60 last time?) although years ago the credit wasn't split across a number of orders. Still, there's been some cracking deals on this particular machine recently so can't grumble, lol!

There was a deal available on Black Friday to pick up the Ninja Coffee System (glass carafe) for £90 from Argos after a £10 Quidco bonus. Was tempted but then saw that it was probably old stock of the v.1 being cleared out as there's a new improved model in the States that includes an integrated milk frother (doesn't heat the milk and doesn't look particularly great but rest of machines does).

Also there's talk of the Ninja machines over extracted the coffee which would give a bitter taste.
soldierboy001
2 Dec 16 #304
All you people scrabbling about trying to get the cheapest deal, get yourself a Ninja, only £30 more expensive, but will save you money in the long run as ground coffee is much cheaper than those pods and makes all sorts of coffee drinks.

Of course, that's essentially what Starbucks and Costa do when making flavoured lattes. You add whatever syrup you like. Usually it's one pump for small sizes and two for medium or large, I think?

For some capsules such as the three limited edition ones that already have flavours such as Apple and Cinnamon, it's probably best not to add another syrup on top as you'll lose some of the original flavour and the new mixed flavour might not actually taste that great!

I opened a Nespresso account yesterday early evening and received my membership number shortly afterwards. Thought that was it, I'd then receive the free promotional credit in my account automatically. Silly me had not registered for the free promo which I only found out after a quick phone call to Nespresso asking how long I'd have to wait for it to show.

Out of all the free gifts, I thought the cube dispenser was the least desirable. There's a Discovery wooden box available as a free gift that holds 36 capsules (each in their own hole) and inside the cover it tells you which one is which and strength info etc. More useful and looks quality. Still waiting for the first part of my free credit to appear in Nespresso account...

:disappointed:

After a phone call to Nespresso, turns out in all of the excitement, all I had actually done was open a new Nespresso account and registered my machine but not registered for the free promotional credit here:

https://nespressoukpromotions.com/Trade/MemberLookup?country=Uk

Just done that now. The very helpful lady said it can take up to 10 days although it's usually quicker than that for the credit to appear in your account and I'll receive an email to let me know when it does.

With regards to an earlier question that I posted about and didn't get a reply, a friend or family member can pick up a click and collect order on your behalf by quoting your membership number, name and address details.

I too shall spend the second and third parts of my promo credit in-store and save myself ordering far too many capsules or paying a delivery charge!

I arranged mine as click and collect from a local(ish) Waitrose to save having to wait in all day.

Originally after placing the order it said item would be ready 2pm onwards on Tues 29/11/16. Got a text message yesterday saying unfortunately there is a delay and it wouldn't be available from 2pm but they would advise me when it was. Feared the worst, that they didn't have the stock to fulfill this order but needn't have as less than one hour later received a follow-up text saying it's now ready. Got to give John Lewis a big thumbs up for keeping customers informed unlike many other retailers after taking their money!

Was bracing myself for plenty of frustration after reading how many people were having problems registering their new machines but was pleasantly surprised that registering my En520 White (purchased from John Lewis) went through on the first attempt.

Had one email confirming they've received my details and now awaiting the follow-up email which should include my membership number. Hopefully won't be long before the first £25 credit appears in my account?

After entering my machine details I was offered a choice of free gifts (capsule cube dispenser or two different pairs of glass cups and saucers) if I ordered an assorted box of 150 capsules which includes the three limited editions). I won't place an order until my free credit shows but wonder whether I can still opt for this offer? I think those glasses are a bit over priced (£17 to £21) but for free...I think I could be tempted, lol!

21 mins later and my membership number has arrived via email.

I can just see last months Nespresso's board meeting. Hey guy's we've got all these discontinued machines that we can't sell but I've come up with a great idea, we sell them off as a promotion, people just love a bargain, but what we'll do is wipe the serial numbers off the system and tell the customers they have to register to get this promotion by using the serial number of the machine but because we have wiped them off the system they won't be able to claim. Great idea aye boys.
Next months board meeting will probably go like this Oh shazbat that promotion didn't work boys, we forgot about the power off HUKD it's going to cost us a load of money, I hope we can sustain it as it won't look good a coffee machine manufacturer going into LIQUIDATION.

Are you trying to say u got 4yrs warranty? Because what I understand is accidental damage for an extra £10 is added onto those 2yrs warranty. So it wouldn't be 2yrs then an extra 2yrs for £10 so a total of 4yrs.

thanks for your reply. However, I wasnt suggesting my ageing machine would qualify ;-)

28 Nov 16 #206
In fact if you see a competitor (must have a bricks and mortar store with stock) offering a lower price on the exact same product (model and colour) within 30 days of taking delivery (or collection) of the item, just submit an under sale form via JL'a website and they'll refund the difference. And that's not limited to just one claim per item neither. Have known JL to honour three price matches on one item post-sale.

How's that for customer satisfaction and service?!
AJ92
28 Nov 16 #205
That's good. Just realised that if JL decided to reduce the price more we could possibly ask for the difference and they would credit our accounts and not affect Quidco cash back as that was direct with Zeek
bargainnicka
27 Nov 16 #201
can someone confirm if the £75 is available for existing nespresso customers ?
My current machine must be at least 5 years old so not benefited from any promotions lately !

Otherwise I can set up a new account in my wifes name.

thanks
cheekster to bargainnicka
27 Nov 16 #204
You can try but I wouldn't expect it to work if your machine is that old. The credit is awarded on registration of new machines, presumably from the serial number they'll know how old it is? If it was as easy to get free Nespresso credit just by signing up for a new account, I'm sure some members here would have filled their boots with free capsules, ha ha. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just phoned JL and they are expecting 800 more white units in tomorrow. That's shared between online orders and store stock. Lady said they should show online by the afternoon. She couldn't confirm if the price would still be £99.99, I mentioned that I think they were price matching Curry's to which she said if JL raised their price to £249.99 and Curry's still were selling for £99.99 then they'd match the price if I submitted a price match request online.

Fingers-crossed, I may not have totally missed the boat on this machine just yet...

27 Nov 16 2 #197
I got one from John Lewis yesterday. I've wanted one of these for years, but it was previously out of my price range. Very happy with it.

A few tips:
The milk doesn't come out the machine very hot. It's luke warm. There is an easy workaround for this problem though:
1) Put your cup/glass under the nozzles
2) Without putting a capsule in the machine, press the espresso button. This will blast hot water through the pipes into your cup. This heats up all the pipes and warms your cup.
3) Press the clean button on the milk dispenser. It blasts hot steam into the milk chamber and out of the nozzle for 10 seconds. This heats up the milk and the pipes.
4) Empty your cup/glass, then use the Nespresso machine as per normal. You will get a MUCH hotter drink.
onstat
27 Nov 16 #196
Picked up a red one from JL yesterday for £99.99. Works great
cheekster
27 Nov 16 #195
It's both surprising and disappointing that despite JL usually having a Nespresso stand in their stores and at certain times of year such as build-up to Christmas they have Nespresso staff demoing products, that they don't also sell original Nespresso capsules. A real missed opportunity imo.

The only thing they may gain is charging the majority of customers a £3.95 delivery charge when ordering less than 200 capsules (50 capsules if you have a monthly subscription of £18, £25 or £45) but on the flip side I'm sure they lose some potential orders due to this delivery charge?

There's no more than a handful of Nespresso boutiques in the country, I mean what's that all about? Now that their exclusivity has ended and other companies are able to sell compatible capsules, you'd think they'd do more to make it easier for customers to get hold of genuine capsules. As with all of these pod machines, the profit isn't really in the machines, it's getting customers tied into your eco-system and purchasing the original capsules/pods for years to come.

zeek just replied and confirmed what I thought, there was a problem with the e-voucher codes that they supplied me and they have now updated them in my wallet. Nice of them to credit me £5 for the inconvenience but if John Lewis don't get any more of these machines in for £99.99, I may consider asking zeek for a refund.

The new serial numbers and security codes are completely different to the previous ones they supplied yesterday. :smirk:

Edit: The iOS app review by SolaRaph (8th July 2016) sounds exactly the same as the problem that I experienced with the exception that customer services representative Hila was polite in her email replies and definitely not rude to me.

I really didn't want a red one but now that John Lewis have sold out of white at £99.99, it might have to be red or nothing as I'm not paying £199.99 for black (EN550 model).

But Quidco is paying out cashback for a new account and purchase from zeek with whom you're using a promo code not issued by Quidco. Cashback often tracks but doesn't always get paid out and one of the reasons is after they have noticed that you also used a promo code.

My fears have just been confirmed...John Lewis selling out before I managed to get zeek to sort out why my John Lewis e-vouchers wouldn't work. Grrr!

Zeek replied to my email this morning stating they needed to get to know a bit more about me (possibly not helped because I didn't enter any of my address details etc?) and requested a scan of a couple of bits of identification, which I've have just sent to them.

If John Lewis don't get any more stock in at £99.99 though I might request a refund from Zeek as only reason I purchased £100 of JL vouchers was specifically for this deal. :disappointed:
cheekster
27 Nov 16 #178
I understood the terms and conditions the same as you and didn't think it was worth the risk of an extra £5 off versus losing the £15.34 cashback from Quidco so didn't bother using the promo code.
AJ92
27 Nov 16 #177
Those are the terms on Quidco for zeek cash back. So the way I see it is if you use a voucher at Zeek to reduce it from £93 then Quidco will not pay out as it states in terms.
uchijjang

Yes. Even tried entering the details the other way round and just in case the CVV/PIN from one of my e-vouchers got mixed up with the other, I even tried the other one for each. Basically, nothing worked.

Only possible explanation is I received dud numbers for each e-voucher although with everyone else having successfully used theirs, not sure how likely that is?

I've only shopped at John Lewis a handful of times and the only reason I purchased £50 x 2 vouchers was to purchase this item. Really hope zeek can sort this out asap otherwise the credit might sit in my account for quite a while if I miss out and JL sell out or raise their price again.

Just finished chatting to John Lewis customer services and the chap had never heard of zeek. He spoke to his line manager but because these are not vouchers purchased direct from John Lewis, they are unable to apply them to my account.

He suggested that I contact zeek (already emailed them late afternoon but didn't get a reply before they closed at 18:00) and get them to double check the serial numbers etc that they provided as obviously JL website is not accepting them.

I guess there's nothing else I can do until I hear back from zeek? :disappointed:

Within my zeek wallet, it lists a S/N and a CVV/PIN for each of the two £50 John Lewis vouchers I purchased. How did you manage to get a 4-digit pin for a gift card?

I have 10-digits for each S/N and 7-letters for each CVV/PIN.

If you have signed up for a Nespresso Club account and registered your machine within that account, your free credit should appear in there. I've read that only one part (£15 or £25 depending on whether you purchased a machine with milk frothing facility) of the credit appears, then once that has been used the next one will appear and so on. Only one part of the total credit can be applied per order.
OldCity
26 Nov 16 #160
where are the vouchers exactly?I have none?
jnm21
26 Nov 16 #159
Think we are at crossed purposes. I was referring to can't lose buying a discount gift voucher with an extra £5 off.

What you may be referring to is losing quidco if you pay using that voucher, which may also be true (I use TCB & they do state that some gift voucher/giftcard purchases don't get cashback).

That said if I could get it for jut over £80 at either JL or Currys I would take that over £99 at AO with the chance of £16.33 cashback.

EDIT: Oh yes, if using Zeek to order 2 £50 vouchers, time permitting, you could sign up with a stranger's referral code, buy 1 with an extra £5 off, then refer a family member who buys the second (also £5 off), then you would also get £5 Zeek credit to spend later. Every little counts!!!
daisbuys
26 Nov 16 #158
If you have purchased vouchers through Zeek try this.
You have 2 options when applying a voucher on the JL site.
One is by e voucher, and another is gift card.
Try selecting gift card when applying the serial number and 4 digit pin?

I had trouble earlier on, but by selecting gift voucher instead it worked!

Hope this helps

I called nespresso and credit can be use in store, so perfect

I bought a £50 gift card for john lewis on Zeek for £46 that suppose to be valid for 16,5% cash back at quidco. So if eveything works I'll be paying £88 and getting £75 in credit.

For people that had problems, don't enter them in promotional code, you need to enter them in e-voucher. For me worked at first try.
AJ92
26 Nov 16 #156
I had the same message on when i was adding the credits to my account.

I think its better to contact JL aswell and tell them you would like to buy this item but having issues with your gift card and who knows they might say ok we will honer that price later or something.

26 Nov 16 #155
I have a John Lewis account and already tried exactly as you've mentioned above and that's where I'm having the problem. JL's website is not accepting either of my e-voucher codes.

There is a message saying: sorry, out site is even busier than usual which means we can't currently display your John Lewis information. Don't know if they're experiencing technical issues or if my e-voucher code details from zeek are to blame hence why I was asking if you had any such problems? If you didn't then I'll just have to wait on zeek to reply to my enquiry. Though they've finished for today at 18:00 :disappointed:

Wanted to place my order before they sell out or bump the price back up!

1st you have to create an account then when you login it should take you to where it says 'My account' in big letters to the left of the page. To the right side of the page it should say 'Account credit' (Small letters) and try entering the S/N & Panel Code.

Mine did work. The confirmation email shows £0.00 with 'Applied Credit'
cheekster
26 Nov 16 #153
I have the item in my online basket on John Lewis website then tried entering my two e-voucher codes during checkout but neither were accepted. Have entered both the security code (John Lewis refer to this as scratch-off panel code) and the serial number for each e-voucher.

So, I take it your e-vouchers codes worked okay?

Thanks for replying so quickly.

Having trouble trying to apply the John Lewis e-vouchers to my account though. Every time I get an error message stating 'Invalid Details: We didn't recognise the vouchers details you entered - please try again'.

I know they are entered correctly as I've copied and pasted them from my zeek wallet.

These machines are a waste of money. I have tried several methods of making coffee at home and the best is to use those filters you place on top of a jug or cup and use filter papers with filter paper, ground coffee and hot water. Water should be at 80*c for coffee not boiling. These machines do not boil water and as said before if using a mug or cup will cool the water almost instantly as it goes into the mug slowly and not rapidly as from a kettle. I do have a Kitchenaid coffee machine that uses filtered ground coffee that gives hotter coffee than these pod machines and my drinks are so much cheaper than those pods. About £90 from Amazon.es.

You won't regret getting a bean to cup machine. So ok it's a bit more faff then the pod machines but the coffee is far better, plus the range of drinks you can make is better. They need more maintenance like descaling and the diffuser regularly needs cleaning but that's it really. I've personally had various pod machines in the past and I don't have anything against them, I just like a freshly ground coffee!

PaulKG
25 Nov 16 2 #51
I bought one of these a couple of years ago and it's gathering dust, whilst my old Essenza and Aeroccino are in regular use. As a pure coffee making machine, the Lattissima+ is fine, but the milk frother is a bit of a let down, with froth nowhere near as creamy a texture as when made with the Aeroccino. This is because the milk is frothed with steam, which waters the milk down, rather than the heating element method used in the Aeroccino.

I love my kitchen gadgets and Nespresso and these are at opposite ends of the scale, I love one... the other was a waste of £200+ (as it was at the time). Try before you buy if you can is my advice.
Easy2BCheesy to PaulKG
25 Nov 16 1 #84

dudedude to topdealman
25 Nov 16 2 #47
The drinks are fine, it's your cups that are wrong. You need double wall glasses (NOT mugs).

Like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Delonghi-5513214601-Cappuccino-Thermo-Glasses/dp/B004MAJMZI

[note, there may be one that better fits a single nespresso shot, this is a bit big for a cappucino, too small for a latte]

If you use cold bone china then it will chill the coffee. Best case in that scenario is to preheat the mug with boiling water.
TraceR to topdealman

I have this machine, I run the hot water setting through first, to warm the machine and the mug up, then choose my drink, works great. If I didn't, I would agree with you they wouldn't be piping hot. Pods start at 27p each up to a max of 35p each for special ones so defo worth it!

The vouchers are worth it - the coffee from Nespresso is better than any other compatibles I have tried. Just don't be a dope like me and forget to redeem all 3 - they expire after a year

How much do pods cost for this? I'm wondering about getting one, but have never bought into the idea before. Would be nice to have a coffee every few days.

Pods start at 27p each I think and go up to about 38p for limited editions.

can this do tea as well or just coffee ? i like the chi latte tea that tassimo offers
andyb83 to max84
25 Nov 16 1 #40
You cant get proper Nespresso tea, but there are "compatible" pods from plenty of other places that do tea.

25 Nov 16 2 #38
Bought it via AO using TCB at 16.5%

25 Nov 16 #36
If you drink Nespresso and order regular pods then their subscription gets you this for £1. I regularly buy £40 of pods so opted for the £45 a month that for 12mths which gives you £45 online or store credit to buy whatever.

Machine is good I am normally an expresso or lungo person but do regular latte maciato as it's so easy to do, milk pod can be sorted in the fridge, the clean function and washing the milk part is a double.

So coll but I do think my U mchine does a better coffe

Damn, brought the Inissia Offer recently... would have paid the extra £20 for this! Ah well, great offer - top find, OP!

Can I ask what the fine coffee club pods are like? I've tried so many "compatible" pods and none of them are any good!

I called AO and they're refunding me the £20 difference. I'm tempted to still return it and get the John Lewis one with the 2 year guarantee but white would get dirty pretty quickly in my kitchen! I did get 16.5% Topcashback but wonder if that'll end up getting paid now with the partial refund.
stringsofthesoul to Pineappley
25 Nov 16 #28
They refused to refund me as the model number is different. Did you have any problem like this?
max84
25 Nov 16 #21
i already have 2 tassimo coffee machines, is it still worth buying this ?
andyb83 to max84
25 Nov 16 1 #26
I'd say so. Nespresso is far better in my opinion and these machines are great.
dotcolour to max84
25 Nov 16 2 #27
We've got both in our office and this one is far superior as it uses fresh milk, not the UHT chemical tasting stuff the Tassimo uses. We got the voucher deal as well but to be honest you get a much better deal on pods when buying from the likes of Fine Coffee Club
DjudjangoKid
25 Nov 16 1 #25
This is partially incorrect. Although you can use this machine to froth milk for a hot chocolate it will not forth cold milk for milkshakes. It only delivers hot (warm) milk. Plus, the frother doesn't have its own controls.
You can select Latte or Cappuccino buttons and then press the same button again so the the coffee part is skipped.

The model of the one on AO is EN521 and the one on Curry's is EN520, does anyone know what the difference is if there even is any?

Thank you

It doesn't state there are £75 club rewards like it does with other Nespresso machines.
bma1445
25 Nov 16 1 #5
Can the £75 be used towards the delivery charges? e.g. can I order £21 of coffee and use the voucher to cover the £4 postage?

I normally hate these machines, but for this price it'd be nice to have in the bedroom!
