You made me google Halal I wasn't aware of this religious killing and it seems that pigs are a banned food for Islamists so how could it be Halal? I think they are probably aware what Gammon is, they were asking if it was halal!!

Visited my local store this morning scanned 3 and all were full price :-(

Cover the joint in cold water in a large lidded pan for a few hours or overnight, pour it away and cover again with cold water, bring to the boil and then simmer for about 60 minutes with the lid on. Poor all the water away and refill again and continue simmering until cooked if you prefer the gammon boiled, if not after the 60 minutes just drain off the water and put into a roasting dish covered in foil and roast on 180c until cooked, approx an hour (or see cooking instructions on gammon joint) Hope this helps.

Picked up one in Totnes this morning for £3.50 and then tried the same in Paignton on route back to the office, exactly the same gammon size medium full price. So I would say definitely fixed.

you need to scan them to find out if they work or not

I popped along at lunchtime and lifted a £3.75 priced per kilo smoked Joint at £11 odds

Went to self scanner and it came up at £11 odds, then I realised I'd forgotton to but my £2 lunch so lifted the joint, replaced it in the meat section and partook in 3 bits of chicken and wedges with garlic dip for £2 which is a major bargain in itself.

No idea if the gammon said Medium or FatB size. I did see more expensive ones with £3.50 stickers on them but didn't try scanning any of them

Its also a till glitch,the newer ones with better dates are £3.50kg on offer so guessing whoever sent the information to the tills to update the older ones to £3.50 made a mistake and it takes the whole joint down to £3.50 :smiley:
Got someone to scan the old ones with their HHT scanner and they show up at full price yet the tills take the discount off ,so 100% pricing software error that was uploaded to the tills.
So until someone reports this they wont find it as the legal checks and stock controls will come up at normal price .

I left one smoked joint on the shelf in Basingstoke as it had a shorter shelf life. Offer was still valid. Bought two smoked and two unsmoked, will last me a long bloody time on my own. Thanks, OP.

still on 30 mins ago in my local, don't go by weight, just make sure the label says "medium". I tried one labelled " large" and those go through at full price.

lots in Wellingborough about couple hours ago... got 4 still plenty left

​soak them in cold water overnight before cooking, change the water once or twice. Removes some if the saltiness & smokeyness. you can add bay leaves, peppercorns etc. for added flavour if you like. Cooking it in cola adds sweetness to balance the salt/smoke too, just google cola gammon.

Got 4, 2 smoked and 2 unsmoked.. it was all they had in one of my closest stores. Also used current unidays discount so bought about 12kg of gammon for about £12 !!! Bargain!! I was being a total pig tho and now I can't fit ANYTHING in my fridge and im going to have to work on freezer space over next few weeks haha !!! well fone op

Just bought 4 unsmoked. Mine said £3.75/kg but all had "medium" in the label. There were smaller ones which didn't have a "medium" on the label and I suspect those don't work

gutted anlaby there is 1 left, I misread and though it had to say price was £3.50 per kilo. there were 2 in but only 1 was over £10, £11.53 I think so it would have scanned at £3.50 gutted, after going that way on a side note got 5 discounted donuts for 15p, but if i'd took the other one it would have worked noooooooo !!!

scanned a large but didn't work was smoked though £17.50 down to £17.50, they had a couple which may have worked but were priced @ 3.75 per KG not £3.50 - I misread the post before setting off Damn !!

I do remember they scanned at full price, then discounted themselves down to £3.50. Can't remember what went on with the per kilo price, but I think the whole joint went through at the price it should have been per kilo

In Morrisons right now. It works, but only if priced over £10. Anything else scanned normal. Go get hammer!

Seems they are going through at correct price (so bar code correct i guess) then being discounted to £3.50.....shows on self scan as this but not on receipt. Receipt actually says price £1.27 then amount as £3.50

Please remind me from last time... is it that the barcodes have been printed wrong (because the price of items which are sold £/kg are part of the barcode number), or is it the till that's charging the wrong amount?
