As with anything I'd say it's pot luck how long it lasts.
it does seem overly expensive for a single oven, but in the context of a deal if this in fact the cheapest price for this model then I can't see why it shouldn't get hot.

They can, and they do. All appliances are made with a pre-designed average service life - the quality of components and the build quality determines that. With Miele it's 20 years. Way, way less than that with almost all other manufacturers.
This one happens to work out at not much more than the equivalent Neff/Siemens/Bosch, but it's far better quality. Check them out and you'll see what I mean. It's a bit of a bargain at this price, particularly as this model has most of the features found on much more expensive models. Believe me - I did a lot of research on this! :wink:
It's Miele so it's the best there is for the domestic market in my opinion. Their white goods technology is better than anyone else's and the products are built to last. They quite often offer 10 year guarantees by redemption on things like washing machines and vacuum cleaners.

Voted hot. Just got the top of the range one with touch screen and pretty much everything else and it's really amazing. So much better than the crummy zanussi it replaced.

Just a point of interest that this oven cannot be plugged into a 13A socket and requires a dedicated cable from your FCU. If you don't have a dedicated cable the cost is £200- £400.

I suppose it depends on the maximum kW rating, and this one's 3.6kW so it would have to be wired in. I'm guessing the effective maximum for a plug-in would have to be below 3kW but I'd still be happier to see it wired into a separate circuit.

Yes I just had to return a Neff oven as it was 16A and have a replacement Neff 13A series 3. Luckily free exchange, they even swapped it out on Sunday morning within 24h of me calling, god bless ao.com

Simple - because a 20 year design life doesn't always mean 20 fault-free years. And a 2 year warranty doesn't necessarily mean that an item will fail in year 3. :wink:

I'm afraid you didn't quite read what I said - you missed the key word 'always'. The 20 year design life is a hard fact - but it's impossible to guarantee that no faults will arise in that period, because you don't know the way it's going to be used.

I bought the lower model H2561. Fantastic quality. Miele don't do double ovens so I bought 2 single ovens. This price is great and well worth it. Miele often do cash back deals when you buy from any supplier. So always check out what is available on there website promotions.

you cannot say it's built with a 20 year life......
nothing (electrical anyway) can be guaranteed fault free for any amount of time due to the random nature of component failure. the best and only thing they can do is offer a guarantee (not that it won't go wrong) that if there is a fault they will repair or replace within their guarantee period.
To say this particular product is designed with a 20 year life span is silly. It could completely die after 5 years.......it's no different whatsoever to any other similar product, you could buy an oven for £100 and it could last 20 years without the bold claim.
As I said it's complete pot luck, you MAY be edging your bets slightly with a model such as this if it contains superior components with better reliability but dumb luck still plays a part

I still think it should come with a 5 year warranty at the very least, even if they then charge you for the following 5 years. I think two years is a pretty poor show if they really do have faith in their products.
A Beko comes with two years and is only £150
for Londoners, no mention of the flexi runners, but I'm not sure if that is something direct with Miele anyway
