Yeah I've noticed this too, especially game misprices, the other time they come up is lunchtimes as with the dirt misprice. A part of me thinks they do it to boost traffic in quiet times and get people buying other stuff at the same time. Not necessarily. Game takes ages to dispatch. When I ordered Tomb raider from them at 9am one day I didn't get a dispatch email till 4pm. They aren't on the same level as Amazon or Shopto when it comes to dispatching orders quickly.

1st/2nd class only relates to delivery speed, no one said it would put you at the front of the queue for shipping.
In practice I find first/second class doesn't even make that much difference to delivery either as I've had first class items take three days and items shipped second class come the next day, hence why I always just take the cheapest/free shipping option....

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, there is no guarantee at all that would make any difference to the order they ship in (or if they ship) as it only affects the speed of delivery (1st vs 2nd class)...
I believe some people did actually select first class too and unless they are keeping quiet they haven't had a dispatch either....

cancellation email. Called the customer services on the email and they said issue with bank details and address not matching. I called them out saying payment went through verified by visa. Funny little scouse fella mumbled and muttered and offered no remedy. Email now sent asking for full explanation of reason for cancel and I mentioned trading standards in a vain attempt to sound serious.

Still no update on my order yet (placed around 6:50) other than the initial confirmation that came through almost instantly. Lack any getting dispatched doesn't look great but doesn't mean all that much in itself as I have placed orders with game before that didn't get dispatched till the following day.
Either way I guess we won't know until tomorrow since it's now well outside their normal hours. If they don't ship tomorrow I think it's a pretty good bet they have cancelled....

depends, if the payment is on the bank statement it should take no longer than 3-5 days, if the funds have been deducted from your balance but have not hit the statement you are looking usually at 7-10 days, generally speaking.

Very true mate. I mentioned that you can trade into CEX for £24 (obviously my old copy that I shouldn't have paid £45 for....) whilst keeping a new copy with the season pass and got a load of abuse. Didn't realise people cared that much about my life. Maybe people need to re-assess themselves in the real world. If it makes the trollers feel any better I probably won't play it that much anyway. Probably just use it as a coaster.

That's a standard link that appears against all orders, allowing you to view any 'incidents' that have been raised, if any exist. In this case, there are none.
You're more than a little underestimating the fees charged by eBay, PayPal and for postage. :wink: You can't read anything into that - points are credited straight away upon order (or at lest, very shortly afterwards), but rescinded if orders are cancelled or returned.

Lets try to think logically from a Business point of view.
How many orders do folks think slipped through the net at this price? My guess could be 500-1000 units (it was quite a short window). Lets assume a profit margin of 10% leaving a business loss of anything between £2000-£4000. A sizable amount on on bit of poor admin but not bankruptcy threatening.They then have to way up the loss of face also lets not forget they have had money banked for around 48 hours assuming earning interest. Could cost them a reasonable amount actioning refunds on all platforms not including admin time. This is a guess due to the time elapsed they might bite the bullet and let one unit per customer go through. The longer they are leaving it the more disgruntled customers are becoming. Thoughts?

Brand reputation is another matter but they could argue it was obviously a mistake coming from £69.99 to £9.99. Evidenced also by the fact it is still available from them at £44.99. Got the email too. Very very generous of game. They get a lot of stick, some deserved (ps vr) but they have come up great on this one and deserve a big thank you id say. Certainly makes me a lot more likely to shop with them again. Just hope other big retailers (looking at you amazon) start to take this approach. That isn't true, that's why GAME were forced to sell to buyers who bought the ps4 & fifa 17 bundle for £150. They were out of stock long before the website was updated, marked all items as dispatched when the nowtv code was sent then tried to cancel. All affected buyers were offered a new ps4 slim with fifa 17 for £150 due to the contract being entered into on dispatch.

Seems like a very reasonable solution from GAME, especially for those of us who ordered a single copy for our own use (rather than a truckload to offload on eBay).
I ordered and paid by credit card, received the order confirmation email but no further communication yet - account page still listing as "unshipped".

Humm no email for me..junk or otherwise. I have had so many problems with Game in the last couple of weeks to the point that I decided I was done with them, if I get mine it will help a little but I will probably still steer clear of them in general. It's a shame as most people at the local store were alright and I have bought almost every console since the PS1 from one of their stores (They were EB back then) aside from the XB1.

No reason to assume this, the email states all orders will get one so shouldn't matter if you ordered 1 or 100 you should still get one. In fact you could potentially receive two if you ordered one per platform as it states one per customer per platform so technically everyone would be entitled to one on Xbox One and One on PS4 if the orders were placed.
Very generous of Game, don't think we could have possibly hoped for a better outcome...

Well just got off the phone to game sales team and they guy explained there was confusion in mass over the problem and I was getting a full refund and they will be hearing word likely early next week Monday maybe as ppl will still be honored one copy but it will come from higher up and should be contacted then regarding it and if I don't hear anything to call back with my ref number. Also put a note that I had called to query it on the system. So it's sit tight and wait on game I guess. Oh number I called was 0203 0144 024

how is ordering more than one collectively greedy? I ordered two copies - one for me, and one for my brother, who works shifts and was actually driving a lorry when this was on. I would consider that quite a selfless thing to do, as I had no intention of asking him for the money, nor of making a few quid profit. let's see you apply your mentality to the real world, maybe just get one litre of petrol for your car so you don't come across as 'greedy'. I don't think most would have any issue with what you've done; but rather where people are buying multiples solely with the intention of selling/trading in at an inflated price - the complaint being that either (a) there's a limited quantity available and/or (b) they believe that orders with multiples are more likely to get the listing flagged in GAME's systems. (Note, this is just an attempt at an explanation, not any accusation from me towards anyone)

Update on order: so I received an email today confirming my cancellation of 2 copies. long story short , people who ordered 1 copy only will be getting there's shipped. Anyone who ordered more than 1 copy will have their orders cancelled and have just one copy shipped out next week. This will be confirmed in an email next week.
it is only one per customer allowed.
A side note: the original offer was supposed to be 14.99 for a very short time and it would have gone back up. But the system mispriced at £9.99.
The reason for all this is because some individuals had order 10/20 copies of the games and so it alerted their system.
1 is still better than nothing so Once again thanks OP.
Hope this brings a little light to anyone still waiting or had a cancellation.

Joke company! Taken money from my account, then I get an email for a partial refund? No explanation as to why, and no email advising anything has been dispatched, 2 working days later since placing the order!

For those with accounts showing as 'Unshipped'. I wouldn't worry about it, it's common practice for Game. When I bagged the Titanfall CE my account showed the status for weeks even though it was delivered three days after order.
I've just had shipping confirmation for Mafia, but like I say, just because you've received no emails doesn't mean it's not on its way.

Not that I need to justify myself to you but I ordered 1 for myself and 3 for gifts for people that I work for - I am a Support Worker for Adults with Physical Disabilities or/and Learning Disabilities and a lot of them have games consoles as it is their main form of entertainment. The Company I work for allows you to make and receive Gifts upto the value of £10 (with proof). I was wanting 1 single copy - obviously to play.
Because of you greedy b*stards trying to order 5, 10, 15, 20 and up to 100 copies in some cases though, you have screwed up and exhausted the stock on the website, at least for now, maybe even for good.

In practice I find first/second class doesn't even make that much difference to delivery either as I've had first class items take three days and items shipped second class come the next day, hence why I always just take the cheapest/free shipping option....

While going through your order, our risk and security processes have come across a few issues which prevent us from billing and shipping your product(s).
There are several reasons why this might happen. For your privacy, these are not shared with us. Some examples of order rejections are because of issues with billing/shipping addresses, the particular card being used or the email address linked with your account.
So the stupid crappy excuses begin...Also I paid with money in my paypal account....
And got told its too far along and they can't cancel it so i asked If that is the case when to expect dispatch and said later tonight.
I fully expect cancellation anyway but a bit curious as It's pending in my bank via my debit.

You're more than a little underestimating the fees charged by eBay, PayPal and for postage. :wink:
You can't read anything into that - points are credited straight away upon order (or at lest, very shortly afterwards), but rescinded if orders are cancelled or returned.
10% eBay fee, 5% PayPal fee & cost for recorded postage = roughly £10, say £9 for arguments sake. Then the purchase price of £10, you're not getting the game for free. Leaves you with £25-26. Not taking special fvf promotions into account as they don't apply to most sellers.
Should leave about £35 (£25 profit) so that was £10 more than you estimated
So I went on live chat.
Guy said cannot cancel either as it's went "too far along" expect dispatch later tonight and just return a copy.
And as you can guess no dispatch email so yeah, If I hear nothing by my lunch break in work guess it'll be an email to game to try look into it. I don't mind taking my chances on a misprice but being charged and nothing happening with no cancel button? Bah
How many orders do folks think slipped through the net at this price? My guess could be 500-1000 units (it was quite a short window). Lets assume a profit margin of 10% leaving a business loss of anything between £2000-£4000. A sizable amount on on bit of poor admin but not bankruptcy threatening.They then have to way up the loss of face also lets not forget they have had money banked for around 48 hours assuming earning interest. Could cost them a reasonable amount actioning refunds on all platforms not including admin time. This is a guess due to the time elapsed they might bite the bullet and let one unit per customer go through. The longer they are leaving it the more disgruntled customers are becoming. Thoughts?

I ordered and paid by credit card, received the order confirmation email but no further communication yet - account page still listing as "unshipped".

Anyway the order has been 'released' which means it has left the warehouse and is on its way to Royal Mail. It will be marked as Unshipped in the status until Royal Mail confirm receipt. It's not hard to get actual answers and reasoning if you're polite.
I don't think most would have any issue with what you've done; but rather where people are buying multiples solely with the intention of selling/trading in at an inflated price - the complaint being that either (a) there's a limited quantity available and/or (b) they believe that orders with multiples are more likely to get the listing flagged in GAME's systems. (Note, this is just an attempt at an explanation, not any accusation from me towards anyone)
FWIW, my order still shows as unshipped, with no emails received either way since the initial acknowledgement.

A side note: the original offer was supposed to be 14.99 for a very short time and it would have gone back up. But the system mispriced at £9.99.
The reason for all this is because some individuals had order 10/20 copies of the games and so it alerted their system.

Called Customer Services, only to be told by someone he 'wasn't sure and would have to ask the colleague next to him' LOL. Demanded to speak to a Manager and they were just as clueless.
Can't answer why they deem it acceptable to take monies from customers, without providing the goods, can't explain why it takes up to ten working days to refund my money, can't tell me when my 'gesture of goodwill' copy will be dispatched, and don't seem to know why the default email didn't have ANY detail relating to all of the above!

I've just had shipping confirmation for Mafia, but like I say, just because you've received no emails doesn't mean it's not on its way.
It's also hilarious that the people who took great delight in mocking those of us who were in it to win it, will now know we got a copy. Perfect :laughing:
