Amazon have a 30% off promotion when buying 2 Logitech items, this means you can buy the Z906 speakers with a cheap M185 mouse for a combined £184.30 -- which is cheaper than these speakers have ever been at Amazon (£203.93 in March 2012), and cheaper than the Idealo lowest (£203.58).
Yeah mine are almost as old, though I've upgraded the 2 fronts with a couple of baby wharfedale 9's & the centre with a Jamo. I dread the day when the system packs up

I was tempted to buy these when they were released and nothing but online in forums they stated the z-5500 are better speakers these are cheaper and use cheaper components and there is a clear sound difference between the two

Sorry, does not seem to work for me....no discount applied by Amazon
254.99 (Z906) + 8.29 (M185) = 263.28 no discount.
Maybe I am doing something wrong.

Bit the bullet and bought! I suppose anything is better than the unbranded 5.1's I have at the moment!

Always thought about upgrading the speakers but haven't yet got round to it. I thought mine died a couple of years ago but it was just a fuse luckily!

Had these for around 3 years and for general tv/movie surround plus occasional music they've been fantastic. Obviously you can spend a lot more and get better sound but for less than £200 most people will be very happy.

All reviews I read they don't come close to the z5500 I sold my first set years ago and always regretted it. Paid a lot more for systems after them and non came close. Recently bought a used set on eBay and never selling them again lol

Just spotted this while browsing Amazon, and since I have the speakers and would thoroughly recommend them, came here to post it but found it here already
I bought my set a few years ago and they have been a great investment. The improvement going from an older cheaper £50 5.1 set up to these was immediately noticeable. Playing that first movie or game with the sound turned up and feeling the hairs on the back of your neck raising - feeling encased in surround sound is fantastic
It certainly has plenty of power - anything above 50% and I start to feel it through floor and walls, and cranked up higher for a test I could listen to a film at the end of the garden - though not something the neighbours would enjoy!
The large sub sits below my desk with all the cables running into it and the control unit up on my desk. The satellite speakers feel solid and weighty, designed to stand on a desk or be screw mounted to a wall. They came with ~5/6m lengths of speaker wire, but easily replaceable if you need a longer length for one or more speakers.
My intention was to have these connected to my PC, and it was a lot compared to previous sets, but well worth the money. This is a really good price for this system, with only the occasional flash sale or pricing error that has put it lower before.

Yeah I've hopped on this, and got the £25 3rd party mounting package too.
I originally wanted the Corsair SP2500's but they're not mountable. I think theres some issues with these ie no tweeters, reverb etc but similarly Ive also heard they're tailor-made for gaming and as such you cant expect great performance for music/movies. For me these will be used exclusively for gaming (and the odd Bobs Burgers episode before bed!) so I'm hoping that I've got the best package I can for the money. I did toy with separates, and yes they will obviously come up with better sound, but honestly I didn't fancy all that fine tuning! I've already got some nice separates for the htpc/lounge so decided to keep it simple here.
No delivery date as yet, but as my housemate wanted an MX Master, Ive picked these up for £178...bargain!!

Arrived today from Amazon, a little underwhelmed, I think I was expecting better more enveloping and rich sound for the price. I guess it's subjective.

Depends what your using them for?
I've got them setup with the PC and my Sky Box. A lot better than my previous PC speakers and much better than built in sound from my TV Speakers

Indeed. I too use them for my PC, for gaming etc. Fantastic IMHO.
I wouldn't dream of using them for home cinema on the other hand.
