So far @ 0.85p
Loving Fences to organise my Desktop icons. Do a double click on the desktop to hide everything if you like it clean then double click and all my Game icons etc are there.
Loving DeskSkapes for animated desktop wallpaper (currently a rotating planet Earth).
Loving Breevy to speed up tedious text repetition and can now for example just type ukhd in the web address bar and this site fires up.
I think I like Directory Opus if I canjust figure out how to make it the default Windows explorer.
@£6.25
I'll probably never use Display fusion
Lastpass auto form filler on android should come in handy every now and then but could live without it.
CyberGhost I'm currently finding is slow. I have 165Mbit max download speed and the fastest I could get so far out of it is 47Mbit. I've also had it crash a few times on me.
They seems to be offering a Lifetime Subscription deal for $29, which does seem awfully low priced for the promise of lifetime VPN services for up to 5 devices.
Currently trying out VPNs. Cyberghost I can get upto 120 to 170mb on one server. Is there any way to see what protocol it's using? I'm using PureVPN as well but can't get speeds anywhere near that. NordVPN/PIA next.

It does look cool. Quite expensive though compared to others. I've been looking around different sites that compares a lot of them. AirVPN, CyberGhost, NordVPN, Private Internet Access and PureVPN were the ones I originally looked at, more now with Nord, PIA and Pure due to their prices. I did find this site though which does a good comparison, narrowing down to Nord and PIA I think. Anybody used these?
Also can you stack more Humble Codes for CyberGhost?

It's a deliberately misleading download page, if you click the versions link it clearly states "Fences is a downloadable utility application available for a free limited-time trial or as a complete purchasable version"
The only free version of Fences is the old version (v1.01), which works perfectly well up to Windows 7, albeit without all the features of the full/current version.

...or just people with differing opinions from your own. UI is highly subjective (trust me I do it for a living!). Plenty of folk younger (and older) than me that don't like modern UI direction (or indeed any sort of change). Heck, I know plenty of people who deride the ribbon in explorer (Windows 10) despite the fact it's incredibly useful (and the only 'visual' way to access functionality without right clicking or knowing keyboard shortcuts).
Rid1
3 Nov 16#143
Definitely is useful to have, but the odd rename of a folder and navigation to a path is all I need. Meant to say it has a couple advantages for what I do. But the look is unappealing and doesn't suit the modern look of Windows 10 and fences. As you said each to their own, I'm sure people that are a bit older than me are fine with it.

Well at least you didn't resort to hyperbole  Each to his own - I have 30+ licences for this at work for my team and "couple" is a ridiculous assertion, much like "10 years ago" etc. Personally I can't live without it (at home too) but whether you want/need it is subjective and I've no store in pushing it on you (save those pennies!). It's a good product made by a couple of great guys who i've had respect for professionally and personally since the Amiga days
Anyway:
GP Software are very likely to run an xmas sale on Opus - I'd suspect a Pro upgrade might be on offer so it's a cheap way to get a licence with this offer getting you the base solution so cheaply.

Lastpass is great and worth it if you don't use it. There are similar services but this one I found to be best. Great support too. Keepass is a free alternative but isnt as tied together as LP. The LP android app is amazing, especially if you have a fingerprint reader. However from today it's free on mobile now although some limited functionality. Been premium for a few years no complaints.
Cyber ghost should be avoided. Read the reviews on reddit. They made some changes which could impact security and generally are regarded as a bit rubbish.
Fences is neat but almost becoming a bit niche. Not used it in a year or so but it was fairly solid
Opus is good but beware this is the light version which has nowhere near the number of features the full version has. Sad really as the full tool is quite good but expensive.
TaintedShirt_ie
2 Nov 16#135
Yes you could do that. but then you loose whatever security benefit you get with UAC. UAC administrator mode allows you to give DOpus full access for a limited time. It then resets the access.
It is a neat halfway house and works very nicely.

Coming in a bit late - I've had DisplayFusion on this PC for well over a year and it's excellent for multi-monitor setups (3 screens here)

You are completely wrong, it's not my opinion that Opus is highly configurable in the way it looks and the way you want it to work, it's a simple fact. No other file manager even comes close to the amount of features and functions Opus has.
If Explorer is enough for you then fine, this type of tool isn't needed by everyone. But if someone does a lot of file management, then this is one of the best there is at it, and it's currently going to cost them about 20 pence.
Don't forget that's AUS dollars which is about 1.6 to the pound.

The Lite version is missing two of my favourite features. Double-click desktop to launch and UAC administrator mode.
If anyone is unsure about DOpus, look at the number of tabs you have open in your browser. With DOpus, you can do that as you browse your own pc.

I watched one of the most unenthusiastic videos of my life, which taught me its "amazing" features. Which while are good, the GUI is terrible, reminds me of computers 10 years ago which have tried to become modern.
The "configurable for its looks" is most certainly your opinion as many people would say it looks outdated. It does have a couple of advantages, but for most users the regular windows file explorer is plenty.

I believe Fences 1 had a free version but 2 and 3 have been shareware. That page could be misleading from Toms Hardware saying v3 is freeware, if that's the case and there never has been a free version of 3, it's not the fault of Stardock.
The old (free) version of fences won't let me drag and drop icons post Win 7 - the paid for version is fine.

Upgrade from Lite to Pro is $40 AUS (£25), which is cheaper than me going from 11 Pro to 12 Pro ($50).

I have used Cyberghost for a year now. The first year was decent, no compaints. I then renewed and its been terrible since. I would have to now not recommend.

Any good ones you can recommend?

No you cannot, not with this. This is for new users only. I suspect it would be to stop someone buying lots of these bundles for the minimum price to get LP, then using that to get many years of subs for a fraction of the cost.
Its a bit of a shark move by LP/Humble to make it new users only though. There are other ways they could have stopped abuse rather than just being elongated slightly cheaper trial to get people hooked.
Personally i was about to buy the bundle for LP, but since i've been using it for a number of years and I really can't be arsed with the faff to setup a new account and port over all the credentials, i'll give this a miss.
It looks like you can't stack Lastpass ... .damn. Wasted my money :-(

Damn poor exchange rate, the only thing on there I'd be interested is the Acronis and the VPN.
$15 was only about £10 last time i bought that point, at £12 it's got me thinking twice.

That would be more to do with financial market concerns around brexit, not the site offering a poor exchange. It's still poop though

I must be in the minority with wanting my desktop clear of everything but the recycling bin.

They seems to be offering a Lifetime Subscription deal for $29, which does seem awfully low priced for the promise of lifetime VPN services for up to 5 devices.
So which is it?
Why don't you use a serious operating system instead and try out this guide? http://bjoernvold.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4105&p=23087#p23087
PS manjaro....
£13 for 12 months from a decent VPN provider on two devices is an absolute bargain.
I went for this and found that the cyberghost can't stack.
Might go Nord
Useless in other words!
Also can you stack more Humble Codes for CyberGhost?
You need pro version for that.
No idea what most of the other keys are i've got for the other software,I probably will never use! only want it for CG
Thanks again OP

Pretty good deal though I'm still undecided if it's the VPN to go for. Better than none though bearing in mind "snooper charter"/Investigatory Powers Bill will be put into law soon.
Thanks
The only free version of Fences is the old version (v1.01), which works perfectly well up to Windows 7, albeit without all the features of the full/current version.
Is it possible to setup VPN on the router so all traffic is through it rather than each device?
thanks
Anyway:
GP Software are very likely to run an xmas sale on Opus - I'd suspect a Pro upgrade might be on offer so it's a cheap way to get a licence with this offer getting you the base solution so cheaply.
It is a neat halfway house and works very nicely.
I don't use most of it's features but it makes stuff like multiple start menus/icon placement and other things work FAR better than standard (even on W10 - WAY moreso on W7)
If Explorer is enough for you then fine, this type of tool isn't needed by everyone. But if someone does a lot of file management, then this is one of the best there is at it, and it's currently going to cost them about 20 pence.
Don't forget that's AUS dollars which is about 1.6 to the pound.
I'm in the U.K.
The Lite version is missing two of my favourite features. Double-click desktop to launch and UAC administrator mode.
If anyone is unsure about DOpus, look at the number of tabs you have open in your browser. With DOpus, you can do that as you browse your own pc.

op, heat added
The "configurable for its looks" is most certainly your opinion as many people would say it looks outdated. It does have a couple of advantages, but for most users the regular windows file explorer is plenty.

for DNS I use unlocator
Pretty please
same as it does on a normal PC + ISP
unless you are a 'person of interest', in which case they will find you regardless.

I have a number of machines...
No need pay anything.
What's wrong with acronis. We use it to clone hdd s all the time without any issue.
It sounds like you may have selected the blank drive as the source
I already have a multi year lastpass sub, prefer privateinternetaccess for vpn, and wouldnt touch acronis with a stick after it lost me a backup. Use macrium reflect instead
Fences is best of class, for a buck, great stuff
Here here
For games I just pin the most frequently used ones as well as the clients (Steam, Origin etc).
There's quite a lot of people who don't like it too. Even a positive review called it the "least annoying" antivirus, which doesn't fill me with confidence!
Opus looks like a fantastic tool, but you need to be someone who is dealing with organising tons of files all the time, it's total overkill for most people. But hey, I own it now.
I wonder if Acronis would let you change the license type from sub to one off?

Will be noted in my next renewal for lastpass, I was already getting annoyed with how awful the android app is.
I've still 2 years of Avast Internet from the free codes on here, again that's enough for me. Nothing in this bundle for me then, but a good deal nonetheless.
I now use Emsisoft which does use the BitDefender engine because it does have damn good detection. But their software... well a few people have already posted in this thread that it's caused them harm. More annoying than any virus I've ever had!!
No. No it doesn't.
I must be in the minority with wanting my desktop clear of everything but the recycling bin.
Still, might get it for fences
-- edit: my bad, it describes this as the Premium version, so I assume does come with full openvpn support.
I used to be able to use Unblock-US on a laptop but not on a TV, PS4 or anything else for Netflix (since they started stamping down).
Nevertheless, I still think they'd get many times more people upgrading to Pro for £10 than they would for £25.

(DOpus is also May 31st, Lastpass is Dec 31st 2016)
Regarding Lastpass I imagine we could sign up with a different email then just export/import my old paswords.
Is it simple to use?
Think I remember some people saying cyberghost VPN isn't really good in 1 of the older deals in here.
Easy to turn on and off for websites and online gaming?
